Lol why has Jotaro never posed on top of a camel yet?

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Seaons 2, Episode 6:

Yea, not going to lie, I just find this episode obnoxious as I often do with Joseph Joestar heavy ventures.

Ugh, this Stand fight really didn't need to be 2 episodes. I hope they didn't drag
Alessi
to two episodes as well.

Even if they hadn't have added the Kakyoin scene or the like 30 seconds of Polnareff asking where they were (I think that was added) and tried to compress every little thing they slightly extended, they still would have had like 1.5 episodes worth of material.

You say that, but the structure of part 3 and these types of episodes would really benefit from Jojo 2012's breakneck pacing. The way they're padding it and drawing out really hurt a lot of the visual gags and humour in this episode. Because Araki is more heavily involved with this adaptation, I feel like DP are being purist to the point of it being detrimental to the adaptation, to what I feel for the most part (like around the first 80% of it) is a very mediocre entry into Jojo as a series.

Episode 30

That was fun. I haven't totally enjoyed it when recent episodes leaned heavily towards comedy, but this one did it for me. I liked it more than the other Joseph focused episode that involved the Empress stand.

I like how they continue to play up that Polnareff is an idiot. *Flash of insight* "Could Joseph... have gone to eat good food without us!?" I appreciated it when Joseph actually put two and two together and realized the magnetism was a result of that outlet he touched.

I'm pretty sure that outside of the first episode and any cuts they made, the pace of the first adaptation was the same 3 chapters = 1 episde just as in this one unless I'm misremembering something.

Nah, they had to cut a lot of fat around Phantom Blood, as well as some minor scenes in Battle Tendency. Here they're just adding a lot of pointless fluff, like the opening scene with Kakoyin.

Okay I'm late to the party so I'm not going to read this whole thread yet, but I've gotten to the end of the 1st season/2nd arc and I'm really enjoying it so far.

There's a lot to like about this, but I think one of my favorite things about it is how much it presents itself like an animated manga, complete with written sound effects and stat bubbles. Instead of trying to rework dialogue occurring in instantaneous comic panel time into an animated action sequence, they freeze the action and just present the scene like an animated comic book. It's pretty neat.

Haha Joseph. Oh you.

Joseph is so useless in Stardust Crusaders.

Fits with his chatacter.

Yeah I was appreciating them being faithful at the beginning but I just want to get to the end!

30

After decades, the ONE fight I wanted to see animated finally gets to be.

This was the fight that made me a fan of JoJo. After kind of liking but mostly forcing myself through parts 1 and 2, I went back to them after this and suddenly fell in love (mostly with part 2).

Next episode will probably be my favorite one in the entirety of SC.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Stardust Crusaders 30

  • Given the shit these guys have been through, I don't know how their immediate reaction to anything weird isn't "this must be the work on an enemy Stand" :P
  • Also what is with this show and bathrooms and literal shit? I've probably seen more actual turds on this show than in all the animation I've seen in the past ten years
  • It would be one thing if it was the enemies splitting them up but they keep wandering alone. The buddy system - how does it work? (especially since compact cell phones weren't a thing back then)
  • I also like the pretty consistent "I haven't seen X in Y minutes. Rather than suspect they might be under attack, I'm going to sit on my ass and do nothing."
  • LOL at Avdol's 4th wall/genre savvy break

Nitpicking aside this episode was pretty funny. Collectively, the Crusaders are dumb as bricks though.

wait why can't they just summon their stands

Yeah that was another thing I forgot to mention. Given that both Magican's Red and Hermit Purple have pretty long ranges, it was weird to me that they never used them against Mariah since it looked like to me that they were just chasing her down an empty street after the escapades in the bathroom.

Everyone in Jojo is dumb. Just like how there was 4 Hamon masters and a guy with a hammer at Dio's mansion but they decide to attack 1 at a time.

one of those guys was supposed to be like a super tibetan martial arts master whose secret signature technique honed over years of training was to jump at you with his crotch wide open, hoping that you'll grab his legs and then he'll hit you with a karate chop really fast

he dies the first time he actually tried to use this technique in real combat because jonathan and speedwagon both forgot to tell the three martial arts masters that the vampire they're fighting can freeze them and completely nullify their fighting style

Lets not think to deeply about this guys this is JoJo.
Exactly. You have a show where there was a cyborg Nazi in 1939, thawing out some blokes frost bitten hand on your abs, pose striking Aztec vampires and this:

Regarding the episode itself, how the fuck did Joseph not notice he's practically covered head to toe in bottle caps? That was pretty funny. I wonder if Joseph's VA did individual versions of "OOOOHHHH MYYY GOOOODDDDD!!" "Nani" and "Hory Shieeeettt" or did he just them once and they just play them over. Joseph's hilarious. I hope this stand fight is good. Going to be hard to stop the Anubis fight.

I love the way you describe JoJo events.

Their stands may be affected by the Magnetism too, so MR may get attracted to Joseph's hand.
yeah but Joseph's stand are tentacle hentai

makes you wonder what the master's secret technique is

Man, what a really entertaining episode. I love Mariah and David Production did her scenes justice. Hahahaha. Can't wait for next week's episode!!

I'm laughing too much at this. Describing any JoJo fight is just hilarious.

I think it would have been funnier if Joseph was a little bit into the oba-chan. I mean, she was pretty hot and she was only a little older than Suzie Q.
