offered some details on how his next album is shaping up—specifically, it's 80% done, and he's gonna release it as a surprise album: "[It's gonna be] bars, songs, cookout music that just feels good. My last album was a protest to music, I was like 'I'm gonna take my ball and go home'...This album is embracing the music, joy. Being of service to the people. I just hope people like it and enjoy it."

I always look forward to Kanye Album's.. If anything at all, you can't say they're boring. I know I have false hope, but I want a soul beat stuffed album. It'll probably be a "high art" attempt. Can't wait to hear it.

Is it really a "surprise release" if you're telling people it's going to be a surprise release? Isn't it like telling someone you're throwing them a surprise party...kind of ruins the surprise bit, doesn't it?

Either way...count me in on the excitement.

Beyoncé should Rush a new album, and drop it right when she hears kanye dropped his

I would actually love it if Kanye won a Grammy over Bey, and someone else came up on stage and said he should give it to Beyonce. That would be the best thing ever.

HAHAa I love how Kanye calls Yeezus a protest to music. So perfect. What a shitty album it was. I'm really excited for this new album. Yeezus was easily the worst album of the year by a popular artist. I don't know why so many people liked those "songs", but to each his own

Pretty good lengthy interview touches on a lot of topics (I'll hit the music stuff)
Doesn't like autotune (lol) just likes the effect it can do with his voice (ex Runaway outro)
Says his album will be a "surprise" release and its 80 % done
Still working on All Day with Vic Mensa & Q-Tip
Wolves is inspired by a convo with Drake about making a collab album called Wolves.
They've been sending each other tracks.
Watch The Throne stopped the collab from happening but it may happen now that he said it publicly
Has track with Young Thug for Rihanna's album
Dropped Only One first instead of All Day because it felt like him with it being more personal
He felt songs like Only One set him apart from other artists in the first place.

Yeezus and my beautiful dark twisted fantasy were pretty damn awful. Hope this is better, but doesn't sound like it so far.

lmao, you two have terrible opinions, though. at least the yeezus hate is kinda understandable, but MBDTF? Both amazing CDs.

I wonder just how large Vic Mensa's contributions are gonna be. Kanye might push Vic further than Chance which would be something. A Drake x Kanye tape before the Drake x Wayne tape that's been rumored for years? Sheesh. That Young Thug collab is gonna be nuts, I already know.

So he's pulling a Drake. Nice. Drizzy changing the game
I know I know, just playin'
Anyways, I can't wait. I probably won't enjoy it much, but a new Kanye album still always feels like a major event in hip-hop. One of the few artists around that you can say that about.

Agreed on MBDTF, but Yeezus is the one post-Late Registration Kanye album I like for some reason.

The way he described it and the impression I got from Only One and Wolves is really damn different. Hope that the album is more like he described than how those two singles are.

They're both ugly albums. Which is part of what makes them great, but you can't expect everyone to appreciate that.

Yeezus is easier to understand as divisive it has a grimy sound and is a very aggressive album. MBDTF being 'awful' is what is tripping me up here.
