New direct feed (but 1280x720) Final Fantasy XV screens from the demo, also Type-0 HD

You know, look closely, there is no hate train coming, no people bashing the game for nothing, no technical details discussed to death, just plain discussion about how the game is designed/works. That's fresh.

You must not have been to many FFXV thread...

Yeah, personally I could not dislike the new Somnus any more lol. In the original, the Andrea Hopkins' vocals carried the song and now the violin just whimpers and sounds weak.

It's literally Somnus with a solo violin instead of forceful vocals. It's a demo of course, but I expected something stunning with Shimomura.

Just look at Xenoblade's title screen.

Just give her some time and we will have dearly beloved versus edition incoming.

It could very well just be a violin cover of the song for the menu -__-
Where's the indication that they have removed the old Somnus?

The fact that there's dedicated title music leads me to suggest that this may also be in the main game. The Promise was in the FFXIII demo, and that was also in the main game.

Title screens to me are the most important in establishing a great JRPG. There are probably great games that I've played but wouldn't recall immediately because the title screen wasn't breathtaking.

There's no indication that it's removed. I never suggested that.

This is must be really a Type-1 teaser...
I think it's Ace.

Or Type-0-2.

I recall Tabata saying he wants his Type series to be similar to the main FF series, as in each numbered installment will be stand-alone and not tied to the ones before it(he also said he's not limiting his tones to being strictly "mature" and a future Type game might be more light-hearted and whimsical). He also said he has a notion how to continue Type-0's story, but it would be as a direct sequel(like FFX-2 and the FFXIII sequels), not as Type-1.

Agreed. AF isn't going to make you go blind.

Also a direct feed capture with 1280x720 res is a little worrying.

Yeah, I hope it isn't 720...even for the demo. That would mean they have had to likely really reduce elements for the demo. In the crap quality footage that they released of the demo, the Xbone version looked even more blurry.

This is probably just me but I prefer the violin version of the Episode Duscae title screen. The vocal part was my least favorite part of the original Somnus(still loved the music).

...I have a headache...

OT: I need this to come out already, so I can do less typing and more playing. Can't wait for someone to find a damage scaling exploit from all the buffs this game has.

The crystal shards floating around on the title screen is a nice touch.

I always loved those from all the versus/XV trailers.

Absolutely beautiful.. I'm going to get addicted to the demo so much that when the final game finally release and I reach the demo area I will feel sick of it.

Anyone that already played final fantasy type-0 on the psp can tell if the game is any good¨?
Oh maan, i really want to try both!
Some of you know if Type-0 is worth it ? I would love to play another JRPG, my last was Ni No Kuni if i recall right.

I really don't care about Graphics, although i think the Game looks pretty good. Is it a similar to Crisis Core ? I didn't finish it, and i loved FF7. If i remember right i got stuck at some Boss Fight.

I really want to try it (And the FF15-Demo) but i don't know if it's worth 70€.
Yeah, it's pretty good. And it's a little similar to CC (with a lot more stuff and a better battle system).

Magic with the swords? You mean the Phantom Blades? That's definitely in the demo, that's a core gameplay mechanic! And there's magic in the Demo too :p

No like in the E3 trailer you can see a number of swords stuck into the Behemoth and Noctis casts a fire spell seemingly enhanced or triggered by having the swords stuck into the Behemoth.

I can actually hear the difference! Had to listen closely. But I think a menu theme without vocals is better though. But i really liked the new version I just hope they kept the old one with Andrea Hopkins.

I agree, the power of a properly made title screen with just the right music can be extremely powerful. At the same time, FFX had a horrible title screen music, but instead switched over to showing the intro-trailer with it's magnificent piano track, and FFX is still fixed in my mind as one of the best title screens.

The character models look pretty good, and the lighting looks great in some shots, but I'm not really a fan of all of the post-processing. The bloom is overdone for my tastes, and the vignetting is much too heavy for running around in an open field in daylight. Hopefully the final version will have better texture filtering at least.

this looks a lot more visually plausible than what they showed when they announced it

Are you talking about E3 2013? Because the visuals there were pretty hit and miss, if you looked closely.

EDIT: Looking back, though, it does seem like some of the indoor environments in Accordo would have been a bit too much for the PS4 to handle.

Not the first nor the last time SE has done such a thing.
Heck, most of the screenshots for the Kingdom Hearts HD remasters were below 720p!

Yeah, that stuff was target render. Overall, the stuff now looks much better than the gameplay the showed during E3 2013, which was adapted PS3 stuff.

Violin Somnus has the potential to be my favourite piece in the game. That or the opening piece in the E3 2013 trailer.

Yeah, seems similar. But we don't know if there will more of these in the main game.

If they do decide to include more hunts, I wish they don't hold your hand throughout the hunt like this Behemoth hunt. Take some inspiration from FF12 hunts, as half of the fun is finding the hunt.

Can we pretend like swinging swords at bad guys requires a basic bit of strength. Those puny arms. Dear lord. At least give them some definition so he doesn't look like he's been home sipping tea all damn day.

I hope they do, but sure as hell won't all get the same dedication (specific cutscenes and areas), maybe other ones story-related. But as long as it's like FFXII i'm perfectly fine with it.

FFXII told you specifically where the marks were though, the only finding you have to do is walk around the map... Sometimes you had to do things like killing all the enemies and stuff, but they would make that relatively obvious.

The fun in hunts is the fact that they were so fun and hard to kill imo. Finding them is the easy part.

Anyway, I really hope there are more in the final game (and I'm confident that it will), and I hope they are like FFXII.

"The Royal Car that Noctis and friends use to travel will break down at a certain point, and the party will need to make money to have it repaired. You can do this bits at a time by selling items, or almost all at once by defeating a Behemoth called Smoke Eye. This monster can’t see in one eye, so you’ll have to use this to your advantage."

can you just sword-teleport and steal an airship from those androids at night time?

Doubt it. You can only warp to preset locations, I doubt the airship is part of that.

Besides, I love the "stuck in a place so I might as well enjoy it" style of situation that was more common in old school JRPGs:

HEROIC PARTY
"Oh man, that was the last train for the day? But we gotta get to 'so-and-so City'! Guess we have to wait till tomorrow."

MAN RUSHING FROM OFF SCREEN
"Did you hear, the mine on the outskirt of town's collapsed and some children are trapped! Is there no one brave enough to help them?"

HEROIC PARTY
"Guess we have nothing better to do"

After venturing into the dungeon, beating a boss(responsible for the mine's collapse) and saving the children.

MAYOR
"For being such a brave group of heroes, please stay the night at my mansion. We'll have a giant feast in your honor!"

HEROIC PARTY
"Ho ho ho, I think we can spare the time!".

To me, the slight deviations in RPGs can be just as memorable as the main story quest.
