Looking back at the early Twilight Princess trailers, do you guys think something we've seen in Zelda U that will be completely overhauled like in those trailers? It looks nothing like what it does now.
We havent even seen enough of Zelda U to know what could be overhauled even if they didLooking back at the early Twilight Princess trailers, do you guys think something we've seen in Zelda U that will be completely overhauled like in those trailers? It looks nothing like what it does now.

It would be hilarious if at E3 they showed linear segmented parts of the overworld, stating that the Wii U is just not powerful enough to sustain a seamless open-ended overworld.
"We never promised anything different lol."
"Oh and guess who's back? Fi 2.0"

That was a big Nintendo-heavy event where it would stand out. Not a random event for developers that is not an event for PR/media coverage like GDC. E3 will be it.
Please don't include tingle in this game, his schtick is getting stale.
Can can be said for pretty much every recurring character in Zelda games. Actually Nintendo games in general. Please don't include tingle in this game, his schtick is getting stale.

"This character who hasn't appeared in a Zelda game for over a decade has gotten stale."Please don't include tingle in this game, his schtick is getting stale.
It is pretty crazy how the first 2 trailers showed off a completely different game than the one we got.
Yeah I was disappointed when the cave spider chase was no where to be found in game. I wonder if the chase scene from the reveal video will actually make it.
like they're showing off base mechanics and general motion through a world that's a long way from finished.
Nah, that definitely goes into the pile of things they realised weren't amazing so got put into a later game. They did reuse it, sort of, in Spirit Tracks. When you go through some tunnels, a huge Gohma chases after your train. It's pretty cool.

Even a doll of a Tingle is too much Tingle. He needs to be retired. Permanently. This post baffles me, huh? He hasent even showed up since windwaker unless you count his plushie doll in zelda's room in SS
I want more Tingle. He should be a little surprise in every Zelda game, causing all kinds of timeline conflicts and stuff. Him and the mask salesman should be timeless npcs. Please don't include tingle in this game, his schtick is getting stale.
Arrows WILL be the gimmick though. There will be about 10 types of arrow that replace all regular items like the hookshot, grappling hook, whip, spinner, et al
Twilight Princess was at GDC 2005/2006. Phantom Hourglass at GDC 2007. Spirit Tracks at GDC 2009. Skyward Sword at GDC 2011.
It is in celebration of my potentially devastating hype for a possible GDC trailer. (It seems they've made a point to show Zelda at every single one since Twilight Princess, although that was before Directs....
Hmm. I hope he still has a sword. It's not quite Zelda without sword fighting

God I hope we get to keep the cloak.![]()
Made this banner a while back, since Nintendo has yet to make one!

I'd be pretty happy to see this cliche "glorified sightseeing simulator" "press-up-on-the-control-stick-for-5/10 mins" horse manure free-roaming overworld dynamic get thrown in the garbage for something actually takes advantage of Zelda's core mechanics and dynamics; you know, an actual refinement of the pre-dungeon dungeon-like areas that were introduced (though one could argue that they've always existed in a somewhat limited form) in SS.
I mean...forgive my negativity (Nayru knows that we don't need more of it in Zelda threads), but I'd be happy to see a focused dungeon-like pre-dungeon area be showed off at E3 2015 because it'll at least indicate to me that EAD3 is not entirely enamored with just building "same old same old" fantasy game glorified sightseeing dynamics and that they're actually refining evolving one of SS's best most substantial game elements.
this is a bit off topic, but what was the last time nintendo's internal studios put out a legitimately bad mario/zelda game? Their track record with them is insanely stellar

But where I feel they can and possibly will fuck up the most is game progressing. I'm afraid that they will keep us out of parts of the overworld until a later part of the game, in order to assure that we know where to go. That means no real exploring until the game is almost over, no fighting against harder enemies at the beginning of the game, no chance to get valuable equipment, items, etc. at the beginning of the game. That would really be enraging.

I'll always have that burning hope inside that they'll announce a new Prime, F-ZERO and show more Zelda footage...
It would suck if we had the entire world open from the start. That would destroy motivation and give the game just a sandbox feel. I have nothing against exploring big parts of the overworld, but the entire openworld open from the start..., the story and dungeon complexity would suffer from that.

Phantom Hourglass, Skyward Sword
take a pick
every four years there's a bad one so 2015 is going to be a bad year for a new zelda game unless there's shipping
