This is why this game is going to become a sort of mini-Minecraft like phenomenon after word of mouth starts spreading. This game is just about boundless, ridiculous creativity. It's not going to be close to what Minecraft really gets obviously, it's a bit too bloody a spectacle for the "all ages appeal" MC has, but it's gonna do gangbusters. Mark this.

It's a debut indie game, an Early Access indie game at that, that already has 5,000+ reviews and an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, and has held onto a spot in the Top Sellers list for four weeks against games like Dying Light and GTA V pre-orders.

I think it might already be doing gangbusters

Heh didn't even notice that. Well there ya go!

This sort of thing is just going to continue to have a snowball effect as it approaches final release and gets more word-of-mouth and article-based advertising. Definitely one to watch closely, this is a rad game already and runs amazingly well considering it's early access

Right? I love how already given the "limited" slate of options that an early access game provides is already enough to build the most perplexingly insane killing contraptions known to man.

These guys are gold to me now. Will show instant interest to their next produce, benefit-of-doubt territory which is rare for me.
 
Figured out wheeled machines and catapults, and now my first flying machine.

Downward fans to control lift and directional fans. I think I may be able to scale it up into a bomb dropping machine.
 
I should probably stop breaking this game haha. Just made an object move so fast it can break off a brace even if invincibility is turned on.
 
Devs are working on the next update, which will be Version 0.1
V0.1 will introduce a new island to Besiege with new scenery, structures and inhabited by new enemies. The new island will start out with 5 levels, more will be added as time goes on, and offer new challenges to the player.
We expect that it will be ready in 4-6 weeks time.

They'd also planning on switching the game to Unity 5, allowing for bigger machines and other improvements
 
This game's a lot of fun, I picked it up after watching robbaz's videos and I'm loving it. I've been craving something like this since B&K: Nuts and Bolts.
 
I bought this the second after I read the OP just now. I can't wait to play it.

I always picture myself building something awesome when I buy creative games like nuts and bolts, kerbal space program, etc but it always ends up being hideous instead. That's part of the charm for me lol. I can't wait to make the worlds worst looking instrument of death.

Nothing to add other than this game rules and everyone should buy it.

The game is already working great and there are crazy possibilities for the future.

I'd love to see challenges with build restrictions, like "no weapons" or "no wheels". Or Arena multiplayer with a build timer followed by a fight to the death.
 
Is there a way to lock the camera to the ground so that it doesn't go shooting into the sky everytime I blow myself up sky high?

Yeah just remembered this game exists and always wanted to try it, but I'm afraid of being really bad at it. Also love the aesthetic and UI from what I see, which alone makes me wanna play.

Half the fun is being bad at it. Just watching your disastrous creation go haywire and usually destroy itself in spectacular fashion

Hehe okay, I was like 90% sold on it already anyway. I'm buying it when I return from a work trip in Paris. Too bad I haven't got a laptop, I'd have played the shit out of this at the hotel. :/
 
Just started playing this game again since I had to quit my rocket league addiction. (the mandatory insane screen tearing was fucking up my eyes really badly). I sometimes forget my passion for engineering games. Seeing the absolute genius creations other people put together can be pretty daunting. So I'm putting myself through some besiege bootcamp training to get my skills up to snuff. I'm trying to stay mod free for now at least, but all the videos I see show people using mods. The new update coming Q3 looks to be amazing. I might actually have to make friends just so I have people to play with :)

To add to my necro bump, now that they're adding multiplayer levels. I see no reason why battlebot style arena combat couldn't be implemented.

As mentioned previously, people make some insane creations in this game and I find it quite inspiring, so I spent way too much time today learning mechanisms and watching people on youtube build things for inspiration. I ended up with this tonight which I thought was pretty cool.
