wonder how she's gonna play the violin.
Damn it, this show gets me every week. So inspiring. For it's medium, its a lot smarter and a whole lot more introspective than 99% of what's on TV. I don't want this series to end, but I know it has to.
I enjoyed this episode, what a powerful performance. Also good to see Kousei and Kaori continually making progress, there is no way they don't perform together again.
I'm only 9 episodes in but this anime is already kicking me in the feels. It's so beautiful and so well constructed that I can't stop watching it but I think I might need a heart transplant by the time I reach the end. The foreshadowing is already pretty ominous. Arrgh, why does this show have to be so good?
Music-centric anime always seem to wreck me for some reason.
Hard to believe it's already been a decade since BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.
I share those same grievances which is the main reason why I'll endorse the English dub experience on that one. They did a first-rate job of adapting it and the "bad English" distraction ceases to be an issue.I watched through BECK about 2 months ago, really great show and I didn't want it to end where it did. Only complaint I had was the kinda bad singing from Koyuki and his horrible English. The bad English fits with his character at least, but come on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20vKfjOwAJw
Those are not words!

damn it. mcguffin surgery will save the day. hope it doesn't!
she better hold up her promise to play one more time with Kousei
imagine the feels on that performance , yikes
Good episode, but why am I mentally preparing myself for some tragic shit![]()
Because there is almost no chance that this is gonna end on a happy note. Maybe we'll get a bittersweet ending but I bet it's going to be depressing as hell. Wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't make it through surgery actually (always go in with the lowest expectations).
This show is optimistic in nature, nothing we've seen would suggest that we are going to get a downer ending. Worst case scenario is we get a bittersweet tragic but hopeful sort of ending. The show isn't going to do a massive tonal shift to end on a depressing note.
For anyone who likes romantic shounen stuff, you should definitely be reading Horimiya. It just got licensed by Yen Press yesterday also so now is a great time to jump in.
It's not going to be a happy ending, Kaori is almost certainly going to die. But I'm doubt they'll use that to end it with a depressing tone.

the best I can hope for is an open ending

I'm watching the anime and reading the manga and I just feel a disconnect because I don't really like Kaori( Tsubaki is where it's at).mainly because I feel like I've seen her story in some indie-ish film or a book I've read before and it annoyed me there as well
It sucks because its a great piece of work but it's not affecting me as much of I would've liked the character

Man, Ep. 20 had it all, it's incredible how this anime keeps delivering every week.
how will they play again at this point
