Wow, this threads just keeps going, the salt is so strong here. I thought Yudoken's performance was great (the PC "enthusiast"), but suddenly, a new challenger appears: TheDarkTriforce (the Nintendo "enthusiast").
I was glad when the PS4 hit the 20m milestone, but now I sit here eagerly awaiting the next great milestone more for the inevitable salt thread than for the advancement of my gaming platform of choice.

It's just as bad when people state a system has no games or has nothing coming out as fact when, in reality, it has plenty of games -- they just choose to play them on a different platform.
The worst part is I don't know when I'll have time to play all those games plus my backlog and Ps+ games. But you need to try right?
It goes in cycles. Right now, "sonygaf" can say some pretty positive, bullish things -- and it's totally fine, because it's in line with actual reality. The PS4 is very successful, very popular, and is selling well.
As a consequence, people who don't like the PS4 are much more likely to be banned, because reality isn't conforming to their personal needs. With that said, we've had it go other ways in the past; the Wii era saw a lot of people get banned because they didn't like that reality, and yes, that included some Sony fans.
It just depends on the real world. The common underlying problem is that some people don't like reality (whatever reality is at the time) and will buck and kick and yell and gnash their teeth because they want it to go away.

When this entire notion of SonyGAF, hivemind and ban conspiracy comes into play in regards to current state of play, they forget or were absolutely ignorant to the drumming that Sony, or early PS3 advocates and the console in general took on this very forum and in the larger enthusiast press because guess what? They were almost always fringe elements with a large chip on their shoulders and usually without a leg to stand on.

I don't understand why people can't recognise why people purchase the PS4. I'm not a Sony fan at all. I don't tend to purchase Sony platforms until late in their life, and I barely purchase any Sony exclusives.
For me, the PS4's library is still quite underwhelming. I'll end up getting it for Persona 5...but it's still not satisfying in the slightest.
But even I can recognise that there are legitimate reasons to buy one and legitimate exclusives that entice people. It's just a completely illogical, annoying argument that gets beaten to death ad nauseam. Every Big 3 console has a worthwhile library.
Sony sold more consoles and appeals to more parts of the world and pretty much anywhere you go it'll be reflected. Unless you go to sites specific to a console that's not PS4. They have a lot of fans and a lot of them are online. That's not Sony's fault, or GAF or the fans...it's just reality.
Unless Sony broke into 20 million homes, stole $400 and left PS4s then it's the very definition of deserved. People saw a product and spent money on it. They deserve the sales.

glad sonys selling well, theyve done a lot already so far w ps4 in terms of helping videogame development in general (indie pub fund), helping those devs get their games out to new platforms/audiences, and they're offering a very diverse portfolio of exclusives (regardless of reviews/impressions/etc, theyre still going for a wide variety and thats commendable).

It might depend on what else they have for end of year, in regards to first party releases and third party deals. They went all out on Destiny, but they didn't have FIFA, AC or a Battlefield to push at the end, nor a really big AAA first party game. Where this year they have U4 and perhaps FIFA or AC or both depending on what deals MS have in place too. I do think they'll go big with MGS though since it's very much a PS franchise still and lots of dedicated fans. Though not Destiny big seeing as MGS is an established franchise and doesn't need as big a push to tell people what it is.

2. I have more than 40 retail games... not counting digital ones. This december, I will have surely more than 100 games and some BIG titles like Bloodborne, The Witcher, Batman, Star Wars: Battlefront, Uncharted and maybe Persona 5. What a fucking year...
