People are going to bash it for having only one port now, calling it form over function, but other manufacturer's will follow suit.

full size USB is the new Ethernet and VGA. Apple just killed it on any device that wants to call itself an ultraportable

You need an adapter, yeah, but USB type-C is the future—smaller, reversible, USB3.1 speeds comparable to original Thunderbolt.
