I seriously thought its under 1000$

... Not with Apple's investors and profit margin success. I want a cookie because the skew that I want is $1600.

SHIT GETTING REAL as they announce the watch.
Never buy a first generation Apple product.... EVER word to iPhone owners, first gen intel iMac owners, and retina macbook gen 1 owners. I'm not saying people are sleeping at all but Apple iterates rather quickly on devices and there's a strong chance your first gen device looks like a bad purchase in 12 months.

I can't believe anyone cares about specs anymore.

I feel like the new MacBook would be good as a college laptop used exclusively for schoolwork or something. Like just using Pages/Word and some light browsing etc.

Worst thing about smart watches is the idea of always being connected.

Constantly checking my wrist for an update.. no thanks.

Zzzzz. This watch thing is gonna be a dud. Who replaces their watch every year or two? Watches are timeless; but this from Apple isn't supposed to be.

A "bit" high?

It has a freaking weak CoreM.

It's also two fucking pounds and has a Retina display and is fanless and gets 10 hours of battery life.

Processing power isn't everything. Core M will be plenty for people who use their laptop to write book reports and browse the internet. This will be an incredible college student notebook.

I'm not sure I get these watches, I'm quite torn.. I bought a real watch to stop myself being so stuck to my phone when checking the time. Like connection fatigue or something, sometimes I don't want notifications all day every day.

At the same time, the functionality is cool.

But my watch looks far sexier.

I just don't know.

Little bit bummed the 13" pro got a slight bump with new trackpad, CPU when I only got one two months ago. But whatever, you can't have the latest thing all the time.

Yeah, but then you can get a regular Macbook for cheaper. The retina Macbook at this point seems to be akin to the original Macbook Air—for people whom battery life and extreme portability are the most important features in a laptop.

Wonder why the 15 inch didn't get updated too. Limited supplies maybe for the trackpads?

You'd be surprised how versatile the Air's are. My 2011 can happily run Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign when I can't get to desktop. Most prohibiting issue is the low screen res, which has been solved.

I'll never understand why people don't "get" Apple's pricing. They sell lower spec'd machines that have a much higher build quality than most/all of their competitors.

I definitely see why someone wouldn't want to buy one, but to be shocked at the price? Haven't we all seen this enough times by now?

macbooks have similar build quality to everything in a similar price range but they like the MacBook are outclassed by business model computers.

The watch isn't for me. I dont wear a normal watch, I'm not buying a $500+ watch
I can do 99% of this stuff with my phone/computer. I'm good Apple. Like the innovation tho.

This reeks of NSA figuring out a way to know exactly where everyone is all the time.

1300 dollars for a laptop to write book reports on and browse the internet? Yeah huge market for that.

So why is this activity thing an apple watch exclusive? WAsn't that the whole point of the M processor in the phone?
