Watch Maker is super easy to use, definitely try that.I gotta get good with the watch face editors. Some of these look fantastic. It sounds like they'd make for good mini projects too

Totally crossposting from the Persona thread, but hey, this face making is fun stuff.
So I want to buy the Moto 360. If my phone dies, what can I still do with it?

nothing much outside of tell time and fuck around with settings. It directly communicates with your phone for google search, music control, etc...
There are some apps on the watch that will work separately, basic stuff like timers, alarms, and heart rate. If you have Keep you can take notes and make lists. If you've stored music on the watch you can play that music back and control it with the watch, although IIRC the amount of memory you can use to store music is pretty small. It will still give you basic calendar reminders if they were synched to the watch earlier.
You can download this (WatchMaker) face here: http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/persona-4-14c1d77e0c6
Does it work with square watch faces or only round ones?
Awesome job!It's finished:

Figures on the right are: AM/PM, battery percentage for the watch, battery percentage for the phone and current heart rate from top to bottom.
The image in the top right is the moon phase (I didn't want to repeat the current weather, as it's already in the calendar part).
Just round, sorry.
That's weird. Might be a setting in mini launcher because mine is simply something that when I swipe from the very left of the screen to the right I get the list of apps in my watch.I just installed the wear mini launcher and it was hidden away, mebut now I have a little icon permanently on at the bottom of my watch face showing the last app I launched. If I tap it, it switches to a padlock icon which seems to keep the watch on (and therefore kills the battery). Anyone any idea what that is?
So I'll be ordering a Moto 360 tomorrow from some guy on Ebay. If this thing were to break or have some problems, how would I go about replacing it?

Motorola has the standard warranty if it stops working by itself. But it's the same shit every other company has that lasts like a year. And congrats man. Be ready to have coworkers ask you why they can't see your watch face over and over again haha
Thanks! Ordered it yesterday. Should be here someitme next week. So now what do I do? Do I download some apps to my phone?
I would wait until you actually have the watch so the apps sync with the watch as you install them.
Install the apps i put in the OP when you get it though.
Is there a way to customise what pops up on the watch? weather and other Google now things are getting a bit spammy, as are steps taken. I just want things like incoming calls/messages/calendar stuff
Yes you can disable those. They are definitely spammy. They need to add better ways to manage what you want and don't want to see.
Why does this crap keep deleting what I've said when I'm trying to text?
It's made in China and has an overseas charger not the US one.Never heard of that happening. What do you mean chinese edition? If it's a bootleg then that's your problem.
Huh that's strange I haven't had anything like that happen before. So when you are talking to the watch the words are disappearing on screen right as they pop up? How does it look? Why does this crap keep deleting what I've said when I'm trying to text?

Curious to know if anyone else has this issue: when I ask to send an email or text from my LG G watch, it takes my dictation, but rather than send it, it says "didn't catch that" then deletes the dictation. Also: when I do most voice commands (such as "set a reminder") it does a Web search rather than activating the command itself.
I have Android 5.0 on my Nexus 5 and the latest build on my G Watch. Everything worked yesterday but now I'm getting the glitch. Thought I would ask around to see if anyone else had seen this problem. Tried resetting and reinstalling without luck.
is there any way to adjust how notifications vibrate? Eg text messages are a single quick buzz, emails from work account two buzzes etc? Or does it just mirror how the phone vibrates based on the ringtone?
Here it is:

I'm having the same problems. Also, I'll ask it to play music, the command will go away and then either it will play the music a minute or two later or it just won't play at all. Then I'll look at my phone and the music that was suppose dto be playing is paused.
Oh wow yeah I'm sorry I have no idea :/Here it is:

I have a Galaxy S5. Good to hear that it's a Google problem though.Have you also got the Nexus 5? Wondering if it's a problem specific to that.
EDIT: It isn't

Dude there has the same with an all Samsung setup.
EDIT 2: Reading through that, it might be some temporary server side issues with Google.

I can swipe down on the audio controls and other cards to hide the cards for later. You probably need to update your watch.I think I'd like android to copy Apple's approach to pushing information to the watch. Initially I thought it was silly to hide 'glance' information behind a swipe as then you can't really glance, but I'm getting annoyed at irrelevant information obscuring my ability to see what the time is.
Things like the music player controls are really handy - but I don't need them on the screen all the time - I'd be perfectly happy to swipe up to reveal them. Not being able to dismiss them on android wear is annoying. Likewise with weather and steps info popping up all the time. I'd be happy to do a quick swipe to check the weather.
I wish for something similar as well. I also feel weird just getting shoved a deck of cards to swipe away every once in a while, as it feels like a chore after a little when you're getting cards you don't care about. But I think that's something I can fix with a little tinkering of the notification blocker.I think I'd like android to copy Apple's approach to pushing information to the watch. No, if you swipe down on the main card popup that appears over the time, that card will disappear from the watch face until you navigate back down through the menu. So you essentially make any notification "disappear" from the watch face until you actively navigate through the notification hierarchy again. It's different from swiping a notification to the right, which will dismiss it. Swiping the card straight downward just hides it from watch-face view.I use a digital watch face with the time displayed at the top. The cards at the bottom don't block the time readout. I personally don't like the fake analog watch faces (I have real analog watches if I wanted that) so it's not a big deal for me, but if you don't like the digital faces you may be out of luck.
Are you talking about the full audio control (back, forward, stop, pause) or just the name of the song and the pause button? I can swipe away the full audio controls, but the name and pause button does stay up. With the digital watch face I mentioned it's not a big deal personally but I guess it could be annoying with other watch faces.
There's a way to limit how often the steps and weather pop up, I know because I did it and they don't pop up very often (like 1-2 times a day at most). But I can't remember how I did it.

This. Stop ignoring us and read this shit.
If you have 5 missed notifications on your Android Wear device, can you get to your watch face without using a 2nd hand?
so this is what mrklaw would have requested, i guess?Your watch face is always visible. The most recent notification will display over that watch face but persistent activity like music controls will always have priority over those. If you use an analog interface it can be problematic for times where the hands are obscured by the card so for those, you'll need a second hand because a portion of the lower screen will be blocked. If you use the digital clock, you can always see the time over any card.
There's also an option within the Android Wear settings to never show notifications over the watch face. Just go into "Card Previews" and deselect that option: your watch face will remain pristine and free from popups unless you actively swipe up to view your notifications.
I don't use it so I only now just remembered it. =P Also, if there's irrelevant information that he doesn't want to be seen, there's an option that exists to the far right of every card that allows you to "Block" a notification permanently.so this is what mrklaw would have requested, i guess?

hmmNilay said:Apple is insistent that one of the main functions of the Watch is simply to be a great watch, so when you raise your wrist, you’ll see the time by default, just like a regular watch. The lone exception out of the box is the workout app, which Apple says is “sticky” so people can check their exercise stats quickly at the gym.

It took me a while to figure out that you have to swipe down on the actual card, not just a swipe down on the screen. heh
