Best "one and done" game ever made?

Braid and Limbo were released exclusively on 360.

Still goes against what OP said, I feel like I have Limbo on 6 platforms at this point, I know I've played through it on at least 3.

Ah man, ya'll left out Willy Beamish Sega CD? And Snatcher.

While I really love both games (and Sega CD in general) both were out before their Sega CD ports, Snatcher was on a whole lot of systems. A lot of SCD games were actually ports. One of my favorite systems though!!

I love this topic. It's so strict and it really makes you think about some of the unique/fine points of some console libraries.

The ones I can think of adding:

Maboshi's Arcade (WiiWare)
Pinball Quest (NES)
Metal Storm (NES)
Fire Striker (SNES)
Robotreck (SNES)

Are arcade ports disqualified? If not, please include these arcade/console exclusives:
Border Down (Dreamcast)
Cosmic Smash (Dreamcast)

Otogi: Myth of Demons is the one I MOST want to get on another system. It isn't even backward compatible with the 360 so you have to have the original Xbox to play it. :(

I remember loving the demo, but never played the full game. I think it was a From Software game and I remember thinking it had really awesome environmental deformation. Slamming enemies into the ground would cause craters and destroy buildings.

And for one that doesn't qualify because of the "no-multiplatform" rule, but Metal Arms: Glitch in the System was a fantastic one-off game from the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube generation.

Really solid shooter controls (basically mimicked Halo in third person), great variety (vehicle levels, boss encounters, playing as different characters, "jacking" into enemy robots), body part specific damage on the enemies (blowing away their arms and legs), and a really great sense of humor.

Eternal darkness is the best answer. Amazing game that deserves continuation.

Some of the games suggested are way too new to be even considered. Sunset as a good example.

There is a severe lack of Ghost Trick on that list.

Better get on that...

The best Puzzle/PointnClickAdventure game aside from the Ace Attorney games (written by those games' writer). You won't regret it.

Don't know if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars would count.

Shadow Squadron - 32X
Cyber Speedway - Saturn
Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest - GCN

Cyber Speedway is still my favorite racer to this day. Shadow Squadron made owning a 32X worth it.

Alas, Freddy Pharkas had to be removed, as there's a Mac version.

Also, took out Sunset Overdrive, as it's a bit too soon to say there won't be a sequel.

Kabuki Quantum Fighter
Ristar
High Seas Havoc
Alien Soldier
ESWAT: City under Siege
Pulseman
Hagane: The Final Conflict
Metal Warriors
Astal
Silent Bomber
Einhänder
Ninja Five-O
Elemental Gimmick Gear
Gunvalkyrie
Super Princess Peach

Ranger X is my first thought when I read the thread title.

Then I read the OP and realized I somewhat misunderstood the thread's intentions, but Ranger X still fits.

Game is the bomb.

Also, SubTerrania fits the bill.
Red Dead Redemption

Perfect Dark
Read the OP again. Those games have sequels.

Also, doesn't the Heavy Rain Move Edition classify as a remaster? :)

Sadly, had no idea that Perfect Dark had a sequel. There isn't yet a sequel for Red Dead Redemption, or at least has it been officially announced...

Also, for the record SubTerrania was a not a good game. The controls were terrible. Honestly one of the most frustrating games I've ever played.

Demon's Soul has 2 sequels. Secret of Evermore doesn't deserve a spot, it's bad and it's part of the mana series, FF MQ is the same. Terranigma is the third part of the Soul Blazer series.
