There are a ton of old rpgs that deserve to be updated or at least released on Gog. My choice for best game that qualifies for the "one and done" label would be Deathlord.

Out of curiosity, why isn't Battle Circuit in the OP? It was mentioned a few times in the thread, had no sequels, no re-release, and it wasn't part of an existing franchise.

Alien Soldier on Mega Drive never got re-released anywhere, did it? (Side note: Neither did Beyond Oasis/Story of Thor 2 I believe, yeah? Always wanted to play that). Disaster Day of Crisis is a good recent example as well.

Funny to see "The Bouncer" in the OP. Is that game remembered fondly now, because back then it received a similar reception to The Order. It was hyped before release, then only praised for it's presentation and criticized for it's length and lack of substance.

Yes, I read the OP. A remaster isn't a sequel or a remake and is a silly thing to exclude. If you want to specifically exclude the remastered version that's fine but I don't see any non-arbitrary reason to exclude the original game. That's like saying a classic film isn't worth including on a similar list because it was remastered for a Blu-Ray release.

If that's borderline, which is ridiculous since you're just using the Vita as an alternate display and input method but it's still running on original hardware; there are far more egregious border cases of games that you can actually run on a different generation of hardware. For example, any of the games available through PSN Classics or Virtual Console. War of the Monsters for instance is available through that method. I'm sure plenty of others are as well.
