Pillars of Eternity Gone Gold! Releasing March 26th

So is there a character builder available, or are people just basing starters off the beta choices? I'd rather not be spoiled too much, but also want to kickstart my character creation while we wait!

Damn everything is releasing at the same time. This is the only Kickstarter I've backed but I'll be deep into Type-0 and Bloodborne next week so this one will have to wait for a bit.

- Review embargo is set for 6am PT / 9am ET / 1pm GMT / 2pm CET on Thursday, March 26th

- Let's Play/streaming embargo set for 6am PT / 9am ET / 1pm GMT / 2pm CET on Monday, March 23rd

I suppose to have proper reviews, its a monumental game, keys were just sent out, and more time results in a better article. I think it is totally fair, its not a 10 hour cinematic game you can rush through.

Still, this is the wrong way to go about it.

With a game where the majority of customers actually paid up over 2 years in advance, I'm not sure a review embargo is such a big issue. They likely just want reviews to hit at the same time that potential customers can actually buy it online and start playing.

I'd be very surprised if it was because the game is shit, anyway.

*sigh*

Especially since there's been no limit / embargo to beta videos and streams, and the embargo for release version streams is the Monday before release.

You think 70,000 or so is the majority of customers? No way.

Waiting for a sale and patch updates, the review embargo does not inspire confidence and the beta has also raised a few concerns.

I think my disappointment in Divinity OS and Wasteland 2 (amongst other games) has also made me cautious to hyped up KS games.

Will get this after I've finished Bloodborne - if it's not buggy that is. Always have my doubts when it comes to an Obsidian product. Don't understand how anyone can preorder their games given their history...

Kinda makes me wonder if these type games just aren't for you. Divinity: OS was my GOTY last year, and I just started Wasteland 2 and it's been incredible.

Well, the one game where they weren't rushed or delayed wasn't buggy to me at all (Dungeon Siege 3). The story for New Vegas, KotOR 2 and Alpha Protocol are pretty well known, so it was no surprise why they were pretty buggy.

Eek. I'm super hyped for Pillars of Eternity, but I think I'll wait until the game drops to around €35. Not because I'm cheap, but I only have €33 on my Steam Wallet, and I'm in a really tight financial spot right now :(

Just wanted to let everyone know, greenmangaming.com has this game available for pre-order for as low as $33.74 for VIPs. AFAIK, VIP access only requires making a free Green Man Gaming account but I live in the US and have no idea how this works out for other territories.

I hope this helps!

EDIT: Also, there are similar discounts for the special edition versions of the game.

Not saying $45 is unreasonable in a world where $60 The Order 1886 exists, but what kind of discount do you think we can expect by the Steam summer sale?

This is so fucking ridiculous.

I've loved every single game Obsidian has ever made, except Dungeon SIege 3 which I just liked. And funnily enough, that was basically entirely bug-free.

25% at most, going by Divinity:OS.

Deep, expansive CRPG with dozens of hours of gameplay and huge scope for replays ... only $45! It's a steal, people.

Please, please buy it if you didn't back it. Please.

Not much. These kind of releases tend to lower their prices more slowly recently.

It's a fully fledged RPG, if you like the genre, you'll get your moneys worth.

Not at all i KS both and i love crpgs. DOS seemed front loaded and the abilities broke the game to often. It was amazing for the first 6 hours but then it was all downhill.

Wasteland2 on the otherhand has all the makings of a good game but i just didnt find it that much fun on my first play though.

Personally i liked the Shadowrun and Massive Chalice games better.

Do you guys think this game will be a little bit like Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader?

Isn't that more if a Diablo clone? Other than some superficial similarities I don't think they'll be all that similar.

PoE is a real-time with pause game where you control a full party of up to 6 characters.

Pre-ordered on Steam, I took the Friday after release off for a nice long weekend. Going to be like the old days with Baldur's Gate: alcohol, my best friend (though he'll be watching via Steam streaming), and not seeing the outside world for 48 hours.

Fair enough. I loved the two Shadowrun games, haven't played Massive Chalice.

This thread makes me feel happy that I don't care much about Bloodborne.

If Witcher 3 was to be released next week, though, I really don't know what I would have done.
