Napoleonthechimp you're whack. Merlyn redemption arc? They're not trying to redeem him at all. He's an awful person and the show isn't shying away from it. He may be incapable of seeing how much damage he's doing to Thea but the rest of us aren't. And do you really need 2 Days Later tags to be told that time has passed?

To be fair it looked to me like they were trying to redeem Malcolm for a while. Especially when he had Brick pinned down with a gun to his head only for Oliver to talk him out of it. They certainly were trying to make him more sympathetic.

So Ra's plan is to push Oliver into becoming Ra's so he can become the Arrow. I suppose he has enough of managing a company of that size and constantly having to talk to league HR and employee complaints.

Can you blame hi? He's been following Oliver's career..and he sees

Laurel, Sara, Shado, Helena, that Battlestar galactica cop, Isabelle

And thinks "damn...dude tapped more in few years than I did in centuries".
It must be hard to live when the hottest woman in your surroundings is not just your daughter, but also a lesbian :)

haha, that too.

Ra's: Assassins! What are you!
League: Loyal to Ra's Al Ghul until our death!
Ra's: And what else. Is any of you female? Anyone? Take you hand down, Nyssa. Anyone? What about you, Ashely?
Ashely: Sorry, male.
Malcom: Well, I had some women.
Ra's: YOUR BLOOD MUST BE SPILLED!

Definitely a weak comeback episode in my opinion. I didn't watch the recent trailer but apparently the rest of the season is supposed to be really good. Hopefully that's true because Arrow really needs to step it up. For all the shit I've given TVD for its bad current season, Arrow hasn't been much better.

I liked the episode. Of course it won't beat The Flash's amazingness but it was good for an Arrow Season 3 episode, and feels like they're righting the ship and setting up for the final arc.

It cleared up a bunch of stuff, especially character motivations. Now that all that convoluted blood debt stuff is out of the way, the characters can go back to some simpler arcs.

I don't really mind if they ignore the big clusterfuck of flip flopping in the past five or so episodes, as long as the motivations remain constant for a good while.

Each little group or pair got enough screen time for "what are we" conversations and set the table for the lead up to the finale. I think it's best to just accept the last thing we were told and hope it sticks.

Oliver: Back on track to saving the city and going against Ra's. Friends with team Arrow.
Felicity: With team Arrow. Also with Ray.
Roy: With team Arrow. Back together with Thea.
Diggle: With team Arrow.
Thea: Hates Merlyn but won't kill him for the sake of her mother's memory. Currently having an identity crisis. Back together with Roy.
Lance: Dislikes the Arrow but is reluctantly glad to have him around. Can't forgive Laurel for not telling him about Sara's death.
Laurel: Currently estranged from her father and making friends with Nyssa.
Nyssa: Feels betrayed by her father's choice and seeks support with Laurel.
Ra's: Is willing to destroy the Arrow's image to force Oliver to take his place.

They really need to do something about the mood of the show though. Masked vigilantes fighting Himalayan assassins and a guy with a powered exosuit should be a blast, but the show is way too heavy and depressing.

My favourite thing about this episode was recognising the Chinese Gardens as this place in Portland ( https://www.google.co.uk/maps/uv?hl...sa=X&ei=4q0KVcbtGobfaIeYgZAF&ved=0CIkBEKIqMA8 )

Agreed with the complaints though, makes no sense for Olly to not take the job, if he hates the league that much he could take over and just shut the whole thing down.

I've basically lost hope for this season now, I hope next year they get back to having an actual bad guy.

I still find Arrow pretty enjoyable, even though it pales in comparison with season 1 & 2.

One of the most annoying things is that the writers have no idea how to write characters portrayed by women. Most of the women sound the same and act the same: they cry, they feel powerless, they wanna do something about it, but in the end they cry some more while sipping a glass of wine.

The only female character that was remotely interesting was Felicity. Guess what? Once she started getting more tv time, they took a dump on her and made her act like everyone else.

Also, the flashbacks haven't been working as well as they did before. They seem almost out of place most of the times.

Why would he have to leave everything behind?
Because I imagine running the League is a pretty full-time gig without a permanent work from home policy.

Ra's pitch for Oliver to become the next Ra's al Ghul was that Oliver Queen was a doomed persona. The whole point of this ep was the realization that he still wants to be Oliver Queen, he still wants the friends and family and city that come with it. If becoming Ra's didn't mean giving that up, Ra's wouldn't have sold it to him like that in the first place.

Damn Ollie, maybe you should become the new Raisin B. Ghoul. I hear The League has a great dental plan.

Episode was alright. Thought they were going to 86 Chesthair for a second. Stop scaring me like that. First Joe and now this. Quit playing and shit.

Over/Under on Laurnyssa before the season's over I wonder?

P.S: Get it in Lil Flip!

Why does everyone believe Ras when he says The League would go non-lethal? They've done what they do for centuries and suddenly Oliver is the exception to the rule? Chances are, if Oliver accepts he is trained both physically and mentally until he comes around to Ras way of thinking. He wouldn't just be given command on the spot.

This show is so boring. I'm going to keep keep watching because I'm already invested, but boy this season is a wreck.

I busted out laughing when I saw Ra's in the Arrow suit. Oliver should have just said yes.

But cool, Lazarus Pit.

Also, did I hear right and someone pronounced it as Raesh instead of Raas this time? I hope it sticks, I've always preferred the DCAU pronunciation.

What makes the league loyal in the first place? I mean, I could understand when they follow the man Ra's, but they seem to follow the name. Does the league just provide really good dentist care and health insurance?

It's been happening pretty frequently since S2. Seems like Ra's and Nyssa use Rayesh while everyone else says Rahz.

When Oliver was talking to Diggle about the whole (not exact quote) "I haven't changed anything in this city. I'm not enough. The League can help me with my quest. blah blah.", was I the only who felt like that was a red herring to the Justice League rather than the LoA?

There was not a single reasonable explanation in the episode that Oliver could not keep is friends, family, and city as Ras. I don't even know why'd have to change his name. Again, he'll be the boss. He can make the League do whatever he wants. It made no sense for Oliver to refuse the offer.

No, certainly not. There is no League as of yet. He don't know any hero but his own crew and Barry. And no one of them founded a League yet. Plus in the context of the season Oliver was fighting with himself about Ra's offer.

I know there's no League, nor was it implied he was actually starting one. But like I said, it felt like red herring to me. A little hint at whats to come for the Arrowverse. Gave me the chills actually. haha

I think you should look up again what a red herring is and in what context the term is being used.

What the hell is going on with this show. It's like they've lost everything.

Also where the fuck did he shoot that hook into? The moon?

And Ras in the Arrow suit...what?

This. So much this. This is what I was getting at a few weeks ago. I like the show a lot but the mood of it gets to be to much at times. Maybe they, and I'm serious here, simply need to do some actual daytime scenes. Some actual sunlight might very well help things.

I do wonder though if Flash is eating a larger share of the budget and that is also what is limiting Arrow in where they can take the characters and show on screen. Flash has this grand feel to it now and while Arrow feels some what cheap now.

In order to be Ras, you have to be Ras and no one else. The entire reason why the leader of the League of Assassins is always Ras is to reinforce that the league is all powerful and immortal. He can not be Ras with Oliver Queen's family and friends and definitely can't be Ras from Starling.

And there's no way that Ollie could change centuries of tradition and training. As I said earlier, Ras wouldn't just turn over control immediately. He'd train and teach Ollie until Ollie's mindset changed. Ras lies to accomplish his goals and just as Ras lied about Ollie and friends being free and clear, he lied about Ollie changing the league.

When does Oliver just get to say, "Hey, Ra's, what about that masked vigilante over in Gotham? What's his name? The Catman? I'll bet he'd be interested in your job offer."

Can they do that or is anything related to the Batman universe completely verboten?

I would think season 4 needs to start becoming a little more light/hopeful, and more Green Arrow. Less Batman.
YES. PLEASE.

Also where the fuck did he shoot that hook into? The moon?
lol, I know, right? That was just blatantly careless on the show's part.

Napoleonthechimp you're whack. Merlyn redemption arc? They're not trying to redeem him at all.
I don't think they're actually going to try to redeem him, but they certainly keep teasing like they are. Like Olicity. It gets tiring to watch plot points like this that keep spinning in place. Find a better way to use Merlyn or just move on. Like Olicity.

Gonna have to agree that Ra's in the Arrow suit was not a good idea.

Ra's should have said all of you are free to leave, but before they do, Ra's privately tells Malcolm that in order to erase his debt, he must destroy the image of the Arrow.

Not the greatest, but better than what we got.

What makes the league loyal in the first place? I mean, I could understand when they follow the man Ra's, but they seem to follow the name. Does the league just provide really good dentist care and health insurance?

Ra's murders a mouthy LOA a week.

RA'S: Anyone else challenge me?
GUY: I'll fookin chin you, Rashie boy.

(Guy is kicked off a cliff.)

RA'S: Anyone else?
BOB: Ya fook'n gobshite.

(Bob is kicked off a cliff.)

RA'S: Does...
RICKETY CRICKET: SAVAGE, IDIOT, SAVAGEGEGEGEGE.E

Also..Starling is supposed to be on the west coast, while Nanda Parbat is in tiber. If Oliver still owns that private jet it shouldn't take more than few hours of travel.

The actually showed where Straling is on a map earlier in the season- It's about where Detroit is. This fits with Oliver saying Barry ran 600 miles from Central City, which is supposed to be on the Kansas side of the Kansas/Missouri border (with Keystone City across the river).

Of course, that makes the question of how the Queen's Gambit got to the South China Sea from the Great Lakes a real puzzle.

The northwest passage exists in the Arrowverse.

Clearly.

Between Ra's talk and the cases of recruits we've seen it seems League is just a place for broken people who want to reforge themselves into something new and gain new purpose. There was nothing for them in their real lives untill League camed, so they won't leave the league just because the boss has changed. Especially if he would be groomed. I don't think Ra's would just hand Oliver the keys and go retire. he would propanly spent years grooming him as a heir, making him second in command, before ultimatelly passing the torch.

I'm not sure if the episode was mediocre or The Flash really blew it out of the water the day before. Hard to live up to that, but it felt like a continuation of this years problems. With a helping dose of Oliver/Felicity drama that came out of nowhere and still doesn't make sense

Olicity is the worst thing to happen to this show, way to go tumblr fangirl pairings

On the location of Starling City:

In the first season episode "Unfinished Business", the coordinates (47.6097N 122.3331W) place a rundown neighborhood of Starling City in Seattle, near the Pioneer Square-Skid Road Historic District known for the Seattle Underground. The Underground was built after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889 and forgotten decades later, much like the subway system abandoned in Starling City.

In the second season episode "Blast Radius", a letter addressed to Sebastian Blood had ZIP code 98114. 981xx is the main ZIP Code for Seattle.

In the first episode of The Flash, Oliver mentions that Central City is 600 miles away from Starling City.

In "The Climb", the Starling City Airport is located on Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin.

The exchange should have gone like this:

Oliver: I'd never agree to lead the League of Assassins, you guys kill people! I'll shut you down from the outside
Ras: If you're the leader you can get everyone to stop killing and do charity work on the weekends.
Oliver: Oh, OK. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.

Olicity worked better when it wasn't canon.

I'm fully on the Raylicity train.

I wouldn't mind her ending up with Roy. This episode she beautifully fulfilled the role of a friend. She was supporting and forced Oliver to make his own choice instead of preaching. If she can be like that I have zero problems with her being with Ray.
Oliver shouldn't be tied to one woman anyway. He works best with women who end up making his life worse.

Wait, Felicity and Roy?

Would he unleash his Red Arsenal into her data drive?
