I imagine they chose III over Ascension because the next God of War will take place after GoW III.
No point in remastering the game that takes place at the very beginning of the series tbh. Unless it just makes sense to some people because it was the most recent game in the series to be released. This is interesting though, I'll double dip.

I really want them to remaster the GOW HD collection for PS4 just for fun. That has been repackaged so many times its nearing Final Fantasy 4 levels.

I'm curious to see how it looks since it was already fucking beautiful when I replayed it on the big plasma a few months back, but only doing 3 is weird. Hopefully they port the whole saga over time.

I absolutely loved God of War 3, so I'm excited for this. Considering that I don't play my PS3 much these days, I'm all for playing some of my favorite PS3 games on PS4 with performance enhancements.


But if Sony really wants to make me happy, they'd remaster both Folklore and Heavenly Sword. Two criminally under appreciated games that I loved.

Folklore at 1080p/60fps would be heavenly. Such a gem. Glad I still have it in my library.

Expect more remasters, people.

-AAA game development is still very expensive and risky.
-Remasters are cheaper since it's a lot of asset reuse. Asset creation is one of the most expensive part of game development.
-Helps pad release schedule
-Helps new PS4 owners play older PS3 games. Many people only had a 360 last generation.
-Yoshida specifically mentioned to expect more remasters.

Uh yes I did. I played all of them and IMO 3 was the best one. Both 2 and 3 were great though.
