The person I talked to works at an internal Sony studio (no longer have contact with him) and told me "GOW:A - PS4" was a thing in one of their metrics listings. This was a good while ago. I would think they'd rather package it with this remaster than sell separately...

I kinda hope that won't be the case, as I'm more interested in playing the 3rd again, and I don't really want to pay extra for a double pack.

I imagine it will be visually impressive to you no matter which version u play. It already ran at a good framerate. Then again we don't know if it's just a straight port or if any of the assets are getting improved.

ehhh...i don't know.

gow3 ran at 40+ fps most of the time, and it doesn't look bad at all. it also had nice aa.

it isn't like a remaster will revamp all textures. it probably will look sharper and maybe run at 60 fps, but gow3 on ps3 ran really well and looked really good.

I like the game and i'm not mad about it being remastered. I'd be atleast interested in picking it up if the upgrades were significant enough but the fact that they're not remastering the entire trilogy or even including ascension which is the latest game in the franchise just seems...odd.

Every PS3 exclusive should get a remaster considering the large amount of PS4 owners who only owned a 360 last gen. Even if the game was already gorgeous to begin with.

What is the assumption here that 360 -> ps4 users are gonna jump into the final part of a trilogy that were on sony platforms? Is it that they were probably ps2 owners 11 years ago so they'll probably have played the first 2?

They're contracted out, and pay for themselves several times over. Impact on team is minimal to non-existant.

Do we have details on who's handling the port? We'll know this in a few hours but I strongly believe that SSM is doing this themselves, just like the Last of Us example where ND handled the "conversion", they may be handling the port and moving their code base over to the PS4 as a "field excersize".

Above the standard 30 fps most of these visually stunning games use is a good framerate in my book. I never said it was 60 but its 40ish framerate with the motion blur or whatever made the game look hella smooth.

It's more, "I already played this, why are they re-releasing it?" It doesn't help that there's a Gravity Rush remastered thread that just popped up last night as well. There's also the price/value ratio that factors in as well.

That said, there's nothing wrong with trying to get the people who missed out on this to jump in. This particular release isn't targeted to people like me, who has owned a PS3 and played the majority of the series already.

I think "Remastered" has replaced "Next Gen gameplay" as the phrase/term I hate seeing most on this forum..

The original game is already beautiful and runs well... I don't see the purpose when you have something like PSNow. If this doesn't include Ascension then it's even a more questionable. Meh.

$15 with Ascension remastered and additional mp maps and I would consider thinking about picking it up.
