That is LIJoe. FGC person, and giant souls fan. Those extra copies are for the launch night stream he's doing with a bunch of people. He's also giving one of the copies away during the stream.

My M&P store has this right now. Don't know if i want to buy it because i can get it next week at BB for $52 since i'm a GCU member.
 
havent read much on the game but...is there proper co-op?

by proper i mean, am i able to summon a friend to my game through a menu or friends list?

Nope, no invite system. The way co-op worked in the Souls games is that you dropped your sign on the ground somewhere and if someone needed help for a boss, they would activate your sign and summon you into their game. Once the boss is defeated or you or the host dies, you disconnect and return to your game.

Bloodborne will have similar mechanics, but with ringing a bell to summon random help instead. But there is the option to use a "Watchword" for a password, so only those who know your Watchword can be summoned into your game. This way you can co-op with your friends. But only until a boss is killed or you or the summoned person dies.

Well, Bloodborne just caused a friend of mine to buy a PS4 today. He was a fan of the Souls series (super fan, actually) but his financial issues prevented him from getting a PS4. He said fuck it and saved up quickly to buy one and the pre-order the game.

Nice.
 
Do Best Buy pre-orders get shipped so that they arrive on release day, or do they ship on release day? That's where I got mine at and they still haven't shipped it. I'm worried I won't get it on release day. I'm getting worried guys, worried.

I guess it depends if they started printing already...I think both SONY and Futrure Press recognize the absolute PLETHORA of new fans to the franchise that are out there to grab right now...this is their chance....just think of all the other gmaes and guides they can sell with the in depth appeal a new FROM game has had. I have to think they might have already started printing at least some of the guides based on the OLD data. Definitely checking my copy to ensure that it is the newer verisom and complaiing to amazon about my rush shipping...I want a discount as I paid more than double the cost of the book to get it shipped as early as possible....which now, isnt early at all.

Personally I think its a big gamble to send so late, but obviously their biggrest knock was that the guide was outdated in X weeks in the past....a substantial day one incongruence would IMO be the worst of the two evils....kind of screw up either way but damage control is what it is.

wasnt aware this was an issue that comes up that often. I was actually looking forward to using the guide day 1. kinda reading up on everything besides the walkthrough after I read this article.

Yep. Demon and Dark Souls are 2 of my all time favourite games and I've been gaming for 35 years. There was never going to be any doubt I was getting a ps4 just for this game. Of course I'll play plenty of other games but what I mean is I would just buy one just for this game.

So this unlocks 11pm in the US? I'm UK based but have pre ordered from the US psn so it will be all ready for me for when I finish work on Tuesday :)

I've not looked forward to a game this much since Dark Souls was announced.

What's amazing to me is, next month, we get Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin with all the DLC expansions.

I haven't played DS2 yet myself.
 
I'm trying to avoid literally everything about this game pre-release... that said:

Any word of framerate? I was actually able to play (a tiny bit of) that alpha/beta whatever it was months back, and the framerate was pretty worrisome. I know it was early, but Souls games have a know history as far as being framey.

So, just wondering before I pull the trigger.

lol nah ill play both if I'm not done with Type 0. Not much for rushing through games. Loving what I'm playing from Type 0 though. Now @ chapter 4. So highly doubt I'll be done by the time Monday night comes around.

Mostly 30 with the rare dip when alot of things are happening.

Type-0 is going to be my daytime game, and Bloodborne at night....I can never play a game like Bloodborne, Alien : Isolation, Evil Within during the day cause I feel like it kills the mood.

Its fine...rare drops at best.
