BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Yeah he's a trooper, all he's had going for him is a quarter can of Monster.

I'm really planning on going a Skill build for Cane,
Katana, Scythe

Hint
Katana (Chikage)
is not Skill. It's highest scaling stat is bloodtinge at C. Requirements are 10, 14, 12 STR SKL BLD (don't remember which number is for which).

how do you unlock it then? Spoilerz I need

So
after defeating the boss of the area "it" will drop an equippable piece (helmet). Wear it and head towards the back of the fight area and a door will open up. Head through and a NPC will be there. I believe after joining they give you a badge which allows you to purchase said weapon. NPC asks for blood dreg (spelling?).

I'll stop here. There is more involved with the covenant (oaths now), but I answered the question and don't want to spoil more for you.

thanks, are you playing the game and you're that far already or you read all of that info somwhere.

also weird that it's not Skill, what's the scaling there before upgrades? D?

Hey guys

I received a PM asking about the new patch- in case no one has updated with the info it was simply allowing online play, stability and performance improvements. The game didn't feel that different to me and load times felt the same. The game runs remarkably well pre patch.

now, as a first time souls player- should I be upgrading my character? I am doing what I can by fully upgrading any weapons I use and then when I have enough echos I upgrade my character. Should I be doing this? or waiting

i would do a little of both at a time

Mobius is Wingman right? Guy is still streaming? He's a fucking machine.

wait, is mobius the same guy I watched fight that
frog looking boss thing that kept grabbign him
over and over and over and over and over and over until I drifted off to sleep last night?

Can I make a character that looks like this?

Is there a way to switch the
shotgun with the pistol?
I'm really not digging the former.

Has there been any colorful areas? Game is so so drab. I'm not really complaining, it's the designers choice and the art is so good I'll get over it.

i think you can buy it after you run into the first boss (you don't have to kill it).

Oh sweet. I think it will be more useful in fighting said boss.

Someone answer my bell!!

Its my first play through of this game, should I play online or offline??

Online.

The game (even when not playing others) is constantly a community experience. Messages, covenants and even bosses (?) may be linked to online.

All souls games are great offline but you are definitely missing out on a big aspect of the game doing so.

Online all the way. Even if you're not into co-op or invasions, reading the various messages and watching the various bloodstains people leave makes it feel like you're all in it together.

ONLINE! it's part of the souls experience to be doing this as part of a bigger community, even if it's only stains, ghosts, messages, and occasional invasions.

Thanks! But I am just afraid that I won't get to explore every area of the game if I co-op, since the other player may want to rush through some areas? no?

So, how are reviewers supposed to provide accurate scores if they don't have access to the multiplayer?

Or was that the whole point of the Chalice Dungeon press event?

Untrue. There will be players that will yolo through areas but more often than not they will assist you if you are exploring or will point out useful items for you and hidden areas. Keep in mind they can not face bosses unless you are present to initiate the fight. You can always stick to solo and call for help when you need it.

The Kirkhammer is pretty badass. Switching between sword and hammer mid-combo is so good

Rocking it +
Saw Spear
as a secondary and kicking ass.

you can paint the world with cascades of blood.

I guess that was a chosen decision by the designer. To make the worlds a bit black/white and have the blood be the color. I don't like it but I'll respect it.

Damn, Fromsoft still has it. I was worried that the approach and "modern" design for the game with weapons and architecture would make it seem too futuristic to their dark fantasy games, but goddamn Mobius' stream. It's everything I'd want from the company and their bread and butter fantasy games, from King's Field to Dark Souls.

I wasn't a huge fan of Dark Souls II - I never touched the DLC because of my dissatisfaction - so I wasn't buying the hype full sale for Bloodborne. But goddamn. I want this.

I wouldn't advise co-oping unless you absolutely have to. in most cases, you don't really have a persistent state of co-oping in a souls game. you really have to go out of your way to play that way.

what I mean by "play online" is be connected to the world -- be connected to PSN -- so you get the various asynchronous online features -- not that you necessarily will play much co-op.

For those who have been watching streams, how varied are the new "rings?" What kind of abilities do they have? Is there anything similar to the Thief Ring? I miss being able use a stealthy approach.

Damn that boss Mophius just fought seemed awfully
easy?

It's worth it my dude

That seems to be a big complaint throughout the stream for bosses and enemies. I can't tell if it's actually easy or if all the time he spent earlier has made him over leveled or if he's just good.
