BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

only bosses I've seen are
cleric beast and blood starved beast, and neither looked easy. the latter actually looked pretty brutal, and the player, who was not a souls newb, died a lot of times.
I've been playing the Souls series since Demon's Souls and I died over and over again to the latter today. Finally killed that mother fucker half an hour ago and I swear I had adrenaline going through me. Fuck that thing and its cheap ass one shot attack.

I blame the fact that the cleaver sucks for it since it dodges like crazy.

I have not seen any bosses except Gascoigne and Cleric Beast. I am assuming you have already tackled Gascoigne? If so was the boss fight as good as it looks? Damn that boss fight looks so fking good.

It was fucking awesome. Got it on my third or fourth try, I believe. You've got to be light as hell on your feet for him because he's very agressive.

I wish the character was fleshed out in the lore. I want to know who that badass was considering my hunter wears his outfit!

Welllll
There is apparently an item that mentions him and his potential family. It's a tiny music box belonging to a young girl with her parent's name in it that you can use in the fight. Makes him transform much faster and makes it seem like he's hurling

That sounds so rad how could I have missed that :(

Item description if you're interested

""A small music box received from a young Yharnam girl.

Plays a song shared by her mother and father.

Inside the lid is a small scrap of paper, perhaps an old message. Two names can be made out, however faintly, Viola and Gascoigne."

I feel like this game has tons of lore, people just haven't found it/interpreted it yet.

Help post Cleric Beast please?

Should I have met Gascgione already? I've got the music box, but after beating Cleric, now what? Back in the direction I was just exploring?

Basically what's my next move?

The
cleric was Father Gascgione. He's the hunter/wolf boss you fought at the graveyard, where a context-sensitive action in the same area which kinda completes the quest

I wonder if this is a reference to (movie related)
Colonel Mortimer from For a Few Dollars More.

Edit - After taking another look at this boss (plus given his name) I'm pretty sure it is. Dudes have good taste.

Awesome to hear!

I wonder if people will have problems with figuring out (NPC stuff)
you can only talk to certain NPC's at different times of the day.

People really seems interested in Bloodborne.
Lol the last update i gave on the tv spot was 5 days ago it was on 3.2million views.

21st now bloodborne is almost at 4.2mill. The thirst doesn't stop!

The steam is too much! Loling hard here from all the comments!

PUT THE CROWN!

ITS A FUCKING SPELL YOU SLEEP DEPRIVED RETARD!

Mobi you need to fucking sleep

LOL

Kinda sad about the (Weapon Spoiler)
Chikage katana, it seems like it takes a ton of HP to use when held in two hands and the blood coating on it in that state looks goofy as fuck.

I wish From would for once in a Souls-esque game make the high-end/special katana weapons (in this game, the ONLY one as far as we know) not HP draining gimmicks.

That's the tradeoff for
increased damage.

Did you
use the music box during the Gascoigne fight? It saddened me to see him suffer like that... let him kill me and didnt use it again
.

So weapons have different movesets. Do they all have an equal amount. How many moves we talking here for say the axe.

What weapons are available to choose from at the start.

What's everyone going for and reasoning behind it.

You can pick from 3 right hand weapons and 2 sidearms to start.

R1 and R2 attacks. Rolling/Running/Dashing R1s and R2s. Transforming attacks with L1. Charged R2 attacks. R1s and R2s that chain together with L1 transformations. Some weapons that transform to two handed have a charged L2 attack.

Starter Weapons: Whip Cane, Saw Cleaver, Hunter Axe

Since im gonna be a strength bro ill be grabbing the Kirkhammer the moment I get the chance

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. For some reason I thought the hammer was a starting weapon. Still unsure what to start with myself. I'm thinking axe but still undecided.

Welp gotta crash

enabled shadowplay and gonna record mobius so i can watch tomorrow if he decided to go for the final boss instead of looking for the hidden ones

Edit: Ohh hes going to sleep now, welp c yall

Hahaha I'm drinking right now. You know what the best thing about Drunk Souls is? You lose a shit ton of souls? Occupational hazard, you just don't give a single fuck.

Yep! "Welp, guess I'll just have to grind them back!"

Central Yharnam is really reminding me of Undead Burg, down to having to remember enemy positions and having to execute the same strategy over and over again.

Souls games have a lot more in common with old school Mega Man games than I think a lot of folks realize.

Any streamer using Ludwig's Holy Blade yet? I'm really interested in seeing it's moveset.

Katanas are a joke and that is their punchline in souls games. Get rekt by all the real weapons.

Are you streaming? :3

The moveset is what makes ore breaks a big weapon in these games.
Afraid not. I'll try to tomorrow, though!

The moveset is a big horizontal swing for the light attack which is great for crowds, and the heavy attack is a straight lunge forward. The greatsword part is the transformation, though! The regular sword is just a standard sword but the transforming works into the combo very well.

My merchant's also selling Ludwig's Rifle now. Wonder how that is.

Have you tried the threaded cane? If yes, how does it compare to the cleaver?

I'm having second thoughts about making my first character a dex character, so far only two weapons scale with dex, everything else scales with strength.
