BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

The strategy guide has been delayed:

"to include important game changes applied through the Day-One-Update, ensuring that it will be up-to-date and that online-only elements are covered."

Anyone know anything? Is it referring to the 2.7GB patch that came out a day ago?

For the new page:
"How do I equip runes? I've got a few by now. I'm assuming it's from the workbench that you can't use at the Hunter's Dream."

Also, Ludwig's Holy Blade +5 scales at B with strength and arcane, and C for skill. Nice.

Ricerocket:
Not too bad so far. I have died plenty of times but always felt it was my fault for not planning properly.

Also the Order 1886 soundtrack goes well with this game as background music!

god damnit. all these cool weapons are making it hard for me to really decide on how i want to go with my build.
Haha I know what you mean. Arcane in particular is such a weird stat since pouring points in it seems worthless in the early game but the late game weapons seem to love it from what I've seen.

I am wanting to go Threaded Cane (and eventually Sycthe). What is a good starting origin to take into account? I am also new to From games.

Probably Professional or Noble Scion. You can check the starting origins and stat spreads in the OP.

edit - I believe you'll want Skill and Bloodtinge for those weapons.

so stoked for this game. traded in my Xbox One for a PS4 this past week (for various reasons) but mainly so i can play Bloodborne, i was a huge fan on Demon Souls so it was hard to ignore this game. pre-ordered the limited edition and everything so im ready. the game looks great, loving all the info in this thread.

these Frenzy enemies on wingman stream seem really annoying. gotta be prepared to die there a lot

edit/ no seriously what a load of crap if you can't do anything about that^. they can see you through walls but I don't think that it's intended to be that way.

I'd probably recommend Cleaver or Axe if it's your first time in one of their games. Cane/whip is fast, but doesn't do as much damage (obviously). Military Veteran was probably the best origin IIRC.

Professional, Military Veteran, and Noble Scion all look like good candidates.

My playthrough will be Noble Scion, Threaded Cane, Alucard lookalike

Any new info about the Spider monster?

I'm thinking Violent Past for myself. Gotta love dat kirkhammer.

Lone Survivor looks like the best origin for beginners. The extra vitality should make the early game more survivable.

Most annoying enemy for sure.

people are going to hate Frenzy. I can already see that in the OT

anyway he got a nice item for co-op,
a Bell that heals you and your co-op partners. not sure how many items you can use it.

It doesnt help he didn't bother equipping any extra resist or using sedative at all.

Has there been any official comment on the load times? I mean I have watched so many streams now I am used to it but just curious.

So I finally preordered the game on PSN today. I'm ready to give these types of games a true try. I won't count the hour or so I spent with Demon's Souls long ago. I'm really going to work through this game because it looks so fun.

Wish me luck, everyone. Now all I can do is wait for for Monday night.

It seems that I made it to a place that looks awfully like one of those last places... so turned back and started exploring places that I already explored and found a new passageway.Well I fought a boss that by this time felt like killing a regular mob. Felt so good!

First boss kicked my ass,
took me 4 hours to get to this point from the start, calling it a night, starting to get frustrated. I feel I need a better weapon or better armor or something to beat his ass.

This game...

Are Sony allowing people to stream it now? or are those streaming it on Twitch about to get banned?
I only ask because I don't want to waste my time watching one of them, just to have it end soon.

so that's the location of the Blood Rock, damn.

he was saying something about it, like "they won't change shit". I wonder how much they can actually help.

If it's anything like other Souls games, the sedative gives temporary immunity aside from simply curing. He could have used it before running over to it.

The worst thing he could have done, he did, and that is "not try". There is no point in not trying.

This game...

bro I feel you, did you find the
music box?

The one that is falling through a lake on the moon?

Nope, different. It involved
dropping a big eye thing into an abyss area
, then
taking down an elevator to kill the thing
.

The reward was
an item for use in creating the chalice dungeon
.

I was able to create one of those by defeating the boss from the previous area. Can you enter those now? Do they help you grind?

nope...
but someone said that the cleric is the first boss and you need to beat him first to be able to get through the father.... I didn't even realize I missed him... let's see
