Bloodborne |OT| Now With Newcomers Guide Attached Below OP

Man I played for about a half an hour and man am I scared. The game looks even better than I expected. I hope to play a little more before work tomorrow
 
Well, my first hour of bloodbourne(Spent most of it creating my character). Seems interesting so far, but not liking the cane whip.

The enemies seem to be a lot more agressive and smarter than dark souls, but at the same time, stamina is much easier to maintain and you move faster. The fact that I'm used to not having a shield(never used one in any other souls game) makes this the second easiest souls game I've played(Easiest being demons), though that's a bit preliminary feeling. Still, seems like a lot of fun so far. That's all for tonight.
 
Holy shit.

My copy is shipping to my office tomorrow. I thought the patch was mostly online tweaks and whatnot. But 3gigs is pretty substantial and my bandwidth is kinda limited.

If I'm mostly playing offline for now should I still grab the patch?

Damn it.
 
Quick question: How do you trigger enemies to give out more blood echoes? Sometimes the normal enemies drop 58 echoes instead of 48. I want to get more as often as I can.

You are judging the difficulty by an hour spent mostly creating a character?
 
Anyone having problems installing the game? Multiple times getting "Install corrupted delete data from PS4 and install again", while playing the first area after creating a character.

The game starts with sound set to 7. So turn it up if you want

I'm getting nervous. 2.2k souls, haven't died yet but it's getting nerve wracking the further on I go lol.

Well, nice thing about the first doggy killing me like 6 times is I'm crushing the regular enemies now.


All the specters I see are chumps with threaded canes dying like chumps. Cleaver 4 (eternal) life yo.
 
Chaining a weapon switch into your combo....sogood.

Also is anyone else not seeing death spectres? I hit X on it and nothing happens.

By the feel of the game and the dodging I'm just saying what I feel so far. That being said I said preliminary, I may very well completely change my opinion after another hour in the game. Just getting that feeling from how easy it is to dodge spam in this without even putting stat points in, and I chose waste of skin.
 
Just thought this may be added to the backstab description:


Backstabs? to perform a backstab, sneak up behind an enemy and
hold R2 to do a charged attack. if it lands the enemy will be briefly
stunned. press R1 for a high damage visceral attack animation.

This actually doesn't always work however when a successful charged R2 attack hits you will have an audio queue that will mean it was successful and you can now go for the backstab with R1.

Keep going until you reach the
bridge leading to the Cleric Beast. After you pass the two werewolves (fight them or run) there's a path to your left as you move along the bridge. Run down there, through the room and down the stairs, then open one of the doors on the main floor. Go outside and up some stairs (there will be 1 enemy) and you'll see a gate that opens right in front of the lantern.

Lol, that feeling will be shortlived.
 
Surely I'm not the only one that will still call them souls right?

Like moba "ults" are just ults even tho different games have different names for them, or "EX moves" in fighting games :p
 
How does the beckoning bell work? I rang it, and nothing happened. I then rang it again a few minutes later, and again nothing happened.

Then I realized I just wasted 2 Insight. Ugh!
 
Well I feel good, bought the game downloaded it and did homework now going to bed, but not before convinced a PSN friend to buy it lol.
Scared to even turn it on. Wanting to phone sick for work sooo bad
Cant even peek or I'll be up too late to work lol
