I used the Axe and couldn't beat either of the first two bosses. Restarted the game and picked the Cleaver. Got through both bosses with little trouble. Cleaver is definitely more to my playstyle being faster with more range.

Beautiful? I like the world design, but I wouldn't exactly call it beautiful due to the shit above. It's hard to play for more than an hour or so before it feels like my vision is going bad.

Sorry my eyes don't bleed cause of CA? I'm not sure what you want me to say.

The world is beautiful and the CA doesn't bother me at all.

Don't worry about it, bruh. You only have to beat the first boss, and if you die, well, hope you get back to him and manage to grab your echoes (on the ground at his feet). Oh, and you have to kill him before you can use them, unless you want to just give them up and level up on the trash mobs for a while. Good luck! :D

Whenever you're carrying around a lot of echoes and you're worried about wasting them but don't have enough to level up: buy blood vials. Always useful and never drop when you want them.

If you extend the axe it becomes more versatile. I rarely keep it shortened. I'm almost always lunging.

]nvm that CA looks great almost all the time, i hadn't even noticed it in BB yet

You need to get your vision checked, because it's everywhere. It looks like motion blur applied to everything that's not right beside you; while stationary. And while it's NOT as pronounced as in the image above, it's still extremely noticeable and bad. But then I've never needed glasses so YMMV.

I don't understand this. I never faced a boss yet and I've leveled up just fine. All I did was go a ways through Yharnam, unlocked a handful of shotcuts back to the lantern and then she was awake.
Unless the
very first werewolf you kill, or the double werewolf patrol
is supposed to be a boss?
You just need
1 insight. Which I've read can be found before the boss.

One shot Cleric Beast but it was almost entirely because I had 16 vials saved up by the time I got to him. It took me a solid 12 vials just to figure out his attacks until I was comfortable enough diving in for hits.

Barely beat him mainly cause I ran out of vials and got desperate at his last few % of health . Not sure I could beat him again tbh. Maybe.

So I maaaaay have just power stabbed the wheelchair dude, which made him dissipate...

Am I fucked?
Considering past "Souls" games, I'm going to go with "yes".

When around NPC's, take your finger(s) off your attack buttons. They are easily angered and will not forgive you. Actually, they never will.

Is EU preload up yet?

If not, how much of the game do I have to download before I can play?

Yeah, no I don't.

Anyone in canada notice how blooborne was 69.99 for the digital pre order but now it's 59.99?

Are you kidding me

Or maybe you can chill out for a minute and realize that your opinion on CA as an effect doesn't apply to everyone and that some people actually enjoy it? Your opinion has been noted and disagreed with by others. Some may agree with you, as is their right. However, there's no need to be a condescending dick about it if people don't agree with you.

I am three hours in. I have died so many times. I have learned so much. I have failed so much. I am only at the werewolves. I just found the shortcut and rejoiced. I suck at this game, but I think I love it.

Hey, I'm accustom to souls games...

I just may be a little tired...
The amount of times I've accidentally R2 or L2 NPCs in the face in Demon's Souls is insane. I know exactly what you mean :lol

I don't really feel like I have a handle on when the gun is good to use. I've been surprised more often than not when trying to use it to parry and it doesn't actually work on whatever enemy I'm fighting.

That's what I like to hear! If you can learn something from every death, you're one step closer to becoming a great Bloodborne player.

Not yet for some reason, fellow bro!

5gb.

It's a stylistic choice, there's no need to attack other people. You don't like it, we get it.

I think the game looks fine and yes I have perfect vision.

Man... The number of blood vials I have lost hitting triangle to transform the weapon.

So. fucking. many.

I need to get to that boss so I can level. Playing waste of skin makes things tough in the early game.

Anyone else getting wrecked by Cleric Beast?

Oh yes. I barely do shit to him unless I nail the parry. You have to be on the button, too. Looking forward to fortifying my weapon, leveling up and facing his ass again tomorrow. Got to get over that first hump.

Are you using the pistol or buss? Are you using it mid-animations or at the end of their animations (as close as they are to hitting you)?

All of the following links and spoilers are from the very beginning of the game. Spoilered because, why not?
Have like 7000 blood echoes....where do i go to save??? WHERE ARE THE CHECKPOINTS!!! IM SCARED AS FUCK.
I got lost as fuck just wandering off exploring. Really enjoy that element of the Souls series. I was just climbing some ladders then I found another one and all of a sudden I'm lost and souls.. blood... whatever is piling up.
Here I am totally lost.
So adventures were had. I killed some strange beasts.
I found an oil urn. I found a ladder with a big enemy in front of it. I didn't want to risk anything so I figured lets try oil with fire. That worked well.
At long last I made back to where I started.
A little dirty, but safe.

Where are we at on spoilers anyway. Nothing that hasn't been covered, but I have a GIF of one of my very first non-tutorial kills (after lamp) :D
WEBM
Very satisfying. Time for sleep.

The pre-order DLC for digital is up now...you have to manually download it but it's listed as free...

Top Hat Messenger Skin
Yharnam Hat Messenger Skin (Fedora)
Mini Soundtrack (3 songs)

I finally understand the loop of these games. I died so many times on the same section, but now I understand it. I understand the strategy, the enemy placement, and how to attack. Now, the areas that troubled me I can run through quickly. Nothing catches me off-guard because I've already been caught off-guard and learned. Slowly but surely I am figuring things out.

Also, how does the save system work? Does it auto save when I go to the Hunter's Dream, or what?

dat exaggeration

CA only looks good when it's done properly like in The Order, it should be a subtle effect not lashed around heavily to blur the sides of an image.

Whilst I'm enjoying Bloodborne so far I will agree with what Sanctuary posted above. CA is fucking everywhere and From have really over done it. I've had to put down the game for a bit now because my eyes are aching from the heavy CA that's applied to the edges of the screen.

I really hope this doesn't become a trend and I really hope we can turn this off in a future patch.

Don't play Life is Strange then

Pistol. Does it work on every enemy? It's really easy to do it with some enemies, but sometimes it seems like it doesn't work with others (like the big axe guy near the beginning).
