Do you have a starting origin/weapon planned out? I honestly didn't even know much of the specifics until I started. I went with military veteran with the vague idea of making a quality str/skill build. Skill scaling is crappy for the axe and kirkhammer, so I'm slightly wishing I went with a class more min/maxed toward strength but I know it doesn't matter.

I'm *slightly* concerned about the seeming lack of weapons/armor compared to Souls. I guess Demon's didn't have that many armor sets but Dark Souls had a shitton. Will I play through this game for a 30th time as an NPC weilding an obscure boss weapon? Time will tell. The gameplay is there, just not sure if there's the insane equipment variety that makes multiple Souls playthroughs feel different. The transforming weapons help. And of course I've barely scratched the surface.

That's lame on them dude. I guess I don't understand why you order from anywhere that has to physically deliver a product to your door. Kinda asking for shit like this to happen. But in the case of the CE it sounds like Amazon was one of the only options at this point, so I feel your pain.

I am hoping that will be my experience when I hop back on later. But if not, I will plow forward until I am at last victorious. Ah, that old feeling of climbing a mountain, while also learning some new tricks to boot. Can't beat it.
 
fucksake. Nothing so frustrating as to seeing a copy of the game on the counter but the clerk saying: No sorry, can't sell yet. Come back tomorrow. And the only shop in my area that does sell pre-release doesn't have it yet.

A question about the
stake driver
weapon? Is anyone using it, and how is the move set? The weapon combined with the cannon looks so awesome that it will make me go pure strength. If not, I'll go with a skill character.

Mine went out to ship but I am cancelling the order because I'm sticking with regular.... Would have loved to send you my copy if you weren't so far (Im in Canada)

I might do the same. I rolled Military Vet with saw and blunderbuss but I am now thinking Professional with the cane and pistol. Gonna try out my current a little more but I am thinking about it before I too far in.

Anyone know if the cane has more range than the extended saw? It looks like it reaches pretty far. I don't mind some up close and personal but I also like being able to turn and hit a second enemy before I get mobbed.

Ok was just asking to see if you see the collectible version as something valuable that you could sell later on. Decision, Decisions. To keep it wrapped or not? LOL. I have certs and gc for best buy so I can get the vanilla version with them to play.

Haven't found that one but looks like
a Messenger cosmetic item that you use at the stump behind the Hunter's Rest. It changes the appearance of your lantern messengers. I got like 3 or 4 of them.

Im sort of regretting canceling my CE order.

Ebay has the game going at $150. Seems to be sold out everywhere with people having issues getting their preorders to even arrive. It's not too late for me to uncancel since it was already shipped to arrive tomorrow.

But I cant afford it at $105.00.... I could maybe sell the regular for like $65, which would net me $10 since I paid $50 for it, and I would save a Canadian buyer about $20, since new games are $80 total here.

But then I'd have to cough up another $40.

It's just an artbook and steelcase... I can deal with regular...right? :P

Man, I wouldn't sweat it. We just don't know enough about the game yet. I can't see them thinking you glitched because an item dropped. You had to have done something to get it or maybe it's just a rare drop. Seriously, I would keep going.

This will be my first "Souls" game. The last real challenging game I beat was Ninja Gaiden on Xbox over 10 years ago lol I'm going to be brave and see if I still have any skill left... all the reviews and positive impressions here have sold me on this.

Need to re-ask how to do coop (join other peoples worlds)

Also- does the pistol shoot faster than the blunderbuss? Feel like it takes foreeeever to fire

You have to have insight to be able to summon people to your world. You get insight when you reach a boss, beat a boss, and there is an item that you can consume for insight. I'm sure there are other ways as well. You use the beckoning bell to summon someone, which costs 1 insight. Unfortunately, you'll lose 1 insight whether you're successful or not at finding a co op partner.
