Ra's apparently has tons of kids, but only three are named characteres: Talia al Ghul, Nyssa Raatko, and Dusan al Ghul (an albino son known as the white ghost)

Comic Nyssa was born in 19th century Russia, and is a Holocaust survivor. They're definitely not going this route with Arrow Nyssa since we've seen her as a child when Malcolm began his training.
 
I was hoping that Ollie had some secret plan that involved keeping Malcolm alive, but nope.

Holy fuck, I hope the season ends with the following scene, but swapping out Prometheus for Malcolm:

What was retarded was, Malcolm was like "NO PRISON CAN HOLD ME, NOT EVEN YOURS ON LIAN YU."

But.... Oliver doesn't need to kill him. He could have just literally broken his hands and thrown him in a pit and just had someone throw in food every other day.

He's not dead. He's in prison. And he'll stay alive for a long, long time, and not be able to hurt anyone.

You could also use Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Particularly S4. The other seasons tend to be more justified, but S4 is when he actually becomes a main character.

I didn't use him because he wasn't as problematic as Klaus and Merlin. He was their foe, sure, but he didn't really do much damage to the gang, while the other two managed to murder several close friends (and even some family members) of the main cast.

He is essentially saying that to Thea and Laurel, two characters that still haven't killed anyone. He has killed countless people, he knows how it has changed him from that first kill going forward. It doesn't excuse him not killing Malcolm on the other hand.

At least for Klaus they had an excuse, it is difficult to kill the immortal being whose death would kill all of you, especially when he has two high powered immortal siblings hanging around. But they'll probably end Malcolm in the finale to save Thea or something.

John Barrowman is too good of an actor to get rid of. Plus, I'd rather have him fucking around in Arrow than give Moffat a chance to ruin his Doctor Who character.

Assuming he can't/won't do both at the same time.

Barrowman still wants to appear on Who, and Arrow's writers are willing to let him do it -- they kept his schedule open so he could appear in the 50th if he was called on.

He can do both and would, if everything he's said on the matter is to be trusted.

Steven Moffat also invented Captain Jack Harkness and wrote the two best episodes of Doctor Who that Jack was in. Just saying.

RTD is the better showrunner, Moffat is the better writer.
 
Moffat is good at writing singular stories, but he can't run a season and he tends to make characters he takes over into shells of their former selves (12 is a total asshole) and every time he creates a woman character he turns them into objects (the girl who waited, the doctor's wife, the girl who lived). They can't exist without the doctor unlike Rose, Martha, and Donna who were their own people before they met the doctor.


But this is an Arrow thread, not Doctor Who. So anyway, Barrowman is too good of an anyway to get rid of.
 
Malcolm is weightless. He has no screen presence.
The only time he had that, it was when he was still a threat to Oliver.

Just look at how useless and pointless Deathstroke was in the Island.

I get it, the actors look cool, yaay. But their time on this show has passed.

There's a middle ground, you know, between garbage and God's gift.

That said, I vastly prefer RTD's Who to Moffat's. I like both, but I know whose faults I find more detrimental to my enjoyment.
 
There is no logical reason why Malcolm is allowed to run around, at all.

It's just cause John Barrowman is a fun actor to be around. But Malcolm's character should be dead or in a jail cell while permanently crippled at this point.

That was just Merlyn acting cocky. If no prison could hold him then he should have been able to escape Nanda Parbat without Ollie helping him.

Laurel has killed someone and Thea killed Sara and tried to kill Merlyn last season.

Sara doesn't really count, does it? At least, Oliver has clearly explained why it doesn't. And yes, she tried to kill him last season. She has done this season too.
 
For me, the issue with the Merlyn story line is that it's just not interesting. It's stupid. Imagine how much better and less complicated things would be if Ra's just hired Komodo to kill Sara, Ollie challenges him, and Merlyn is still in the background fucking with shit. Thematically nothing would change. Obviously there are a few things to work out but it sounds much more interesting to me.

Well, let's go back even further: The idea of a murder mystery involving one of the Arrow Crew, who has been killed by another archer, was fantastic. I honestly believe that. Then introducing multiple archers, both new and old, (Komodo, Cupid, the League, Merlyn, Thea, Roy's Mirakuru bullshit, etc.) to really shake things up. I thought it was a really neat and cool idea.

Then it kind of just sputtered out and died on the road.

Thea still blames herself for killing Sara so in her mind it counts, that's why she let Nyssa out after all. What Ollie says doesn't change that Thea did kill someone she cares about and will always carry the guilt with her. Hell Ollie still blames himself for Shado's death and he wasn't the one to pull the trigger there.

You got Malcoln, Nyssa, Captain Boomerang, Slade and a bunch of others know it location. That place is not even secret anymore.

Hopefully by the end of the season, they get a new arrowcave soon.

Well considering
the police discover its location in the next few episodes
we'll most definitely be getting a new Arrowcave. Hopefully it'll be called the superior Quiver.

Malcolm's the most charismatic character of the show and yeah sure, technically, he's a villain but he's a cooler character to root for then gruff-face Oliver, whiny-ass Felicity, all the father figures in my life are terrible people Thea and mr. flip age Roy.

Not to mention that yeah sure, he tried to annihilate an entire part of a city but it's not like the show has any shortage of morally amibigious characters anyways,

Oliver: straight up murdered motherfuckers in season 1
Roy: uhh he killed that one police dude when he was high on mirakuru
Sarah: she was in the league of fucking assassins, the group known for killing mofos
Slade: killed ollie's mother and a bunch of other people
Felicity: uhh master evil hacker in the past or whatever that dumb flashback episode was about
Moira: manipulative, the whole malcolm glades things, also dead

so yeah, if we actually look at it, in the grand scheme of things, malcolm aint so bad. if the writers didn't colossally fuck up his character with this thea-sarah subplot, it totally makes sense to root for him.

Anyone who falls for Rasrrow would have to be dumb and gullible. It's not like you become morbidly obese and develop an English accent overnight. Of course this means Chesthair is totally going to fall for the ruse. He really is a terrible detective.
 
Gah! That video really makes me think that a lot of the shittiness of this season really might be because Marc Guggenheim has seemingly become the day to day guy on Arrow with Kreisberg having more of his attention on Flash, Marc really seems to like the romantic drama and shipper/Felicity shit the show has pandered to at the end of last season and into this one.

I thought they were going to be moving this season but then... Nope, still under a club with the "flooded basement". <_< It's beyond stupid at this point and the only reason they didn't move to a new place has to be because of the show's budget.
