All "Souls" games are an acquired taste, and that taste is still not for everyone no matter how long they play. The frame rate does feel strange, somebody posted that it's related to the frame "pacing" even though fps is technically locked ~30.

The game feel is pretty clunky if you're used to more traditional action games, as a huge Souls fan I was really hoping this aspect of the game would have made a bigger improvement than what it did.

I just came off of DmC DE so that may also be part of it.

For some reason I also keep hitting up on the d-pad to heal and damaging myself badly. Even worse, I have often have full ammo when I do it so there's no benefit at all.

I have everything and done everything.
I should go to sleep now...in bright lit day...to waken up at the midnight seeking punishment.

So you're looking to invade unsuspecting new people just trying to survive?

:)

Everyone's a new player so no mercy from me.

Disappointing they added Chromatic Aberration. Everything looks like covered with overly shinning metallic puke. They need to disable it or dial it way back.

Bought some fast food for a few days, snacks and drinks. Perfect.

LOL gamers.

My copy of the game is still on its way, but once I have it, what is the best starting class and loadout for hitting the hardest? I want to do as much damage as possible right off the bat.

Awesome, my local game store just called telling me that I could pick up my preorder.

Was not expecting to play tonight. Good stuff.

I may actually wait on purchasing this. all the frame pacing and FPS bad discussion has ruined the mood for me...

lol

played for a 30 minutes

the only bad is the aliasing (like in PS1, PS2, PS3 generation, just not ruin game for me), speaking about perfomance and graphics

DF have a vídeo up about the frame

If i know the Souls commynity i know that your not gonna see any real PVPers until people get far enough in the game to unlock crazy shit

So basically give it to the weekend. If people are ppvping they are all near the end

I actually hope there's a way to be invaded without opting-in. That extra level of tension when invaded while carrying tons of souls (blood whatevers) is a real rush.

I've read that it's possible to encounter
Father Gascoigne
as a NPC right before the first boss fight, but didn't see him anywhere. Am I just looking in the wrong spot, or was that something changed from the alpha?

What's a good starting origin and weapon? I want to use the scythe and gun that the cover character uses, or things like them.

Lesson learned: If you want something release day guaranteed, don't order through Best Buy, even with expedited shipping. Game shipped a half hour ago, now I can't play until tomorrow. :(

Is there a reason why the player's character will suddenly start doing significantly less damage in the game? I was 2-3 shotting the regular mobs and after I was saturated in blood it took like 7-8 hits to down them. Is there any correlation here or maybe when the clock strikes your damage output is lessened...? Idk

EDIT: I'm reading the Inventory screen and it says Physical Attack 90.......-19. Before it was positive...this is strange

I guess your weapon broke. Repair it at the hunter's dream.

Invading doesn't cost insight but as far as i can tell you don't "invade" anymore, i'm ringing the pvp bell now and it keeps saying "searching for the chime of a sinister bell". It looks like you can only pvp with other players who've rung the bell.
No. The official website can explain it better than I can, but the gist is: a bell-ringing woman will appear somewhere in the current level (if you haven't beaten the boss yet). As long as she remains alive, you can get invaded by players that ring the sinister bell.
HOWEVER, it seems you need to cooperate at least once before the bell ringer will start to spawn in your levels.

Found the game to be rather easy, getting through the first and second boss on first attempts. Now having both discovered the third and fourth boss I've hit a wall. Both absolutely decimate me, and my weapon barely tickles them.

I swapped out my first weapon for the hammer sword combo, which whilst the best scaling for a strength build doesn't feel like a good investment. Thinking to pivot over to the great sword but at 20k it's hard to gauge it's value ahead of time. Anyone got it yet?

Let the grind begin..

How do you get riposte to work reliably? 80% of the time I'll shoot a big dude and he just gets angry and head butts me.

I think he has to be attacking. If you shoot during the windup it will just stun him for a second, then he recovers.

Every time I've managed one, I fire right as the attack starts coming towards me.

A lot of enemies also have attack combos, so it isn't always safe to step right in after a big attack. They do followup attacks frequently. Nice change of pace over DS though.

So GAF. Sell me on Bloodborne. My only experience with these types of games is that I played probably about 2 hours or so of Demons Souls when it came out as a free PS+ game and I didnt really get into it that much. It felt slow and awkward and in my time with it, didnt feel all that difficult (I got past the blob boss or subboss or whatever it was so I know I didnt get very far).

Im really intrigued but Im afraid this game isnt for me. Is there anybody else in here that never jived with the previous games but is loving this one?

Yep. Either preorder in a store or buy digitally.

I remember that my local GameStop was delayed on PS3 versions of RDR at release. Some customers were furious. Good thing I picked up a 360 version. :D

Even gaming outlets can experience delays, or your internet may break down. But it works 99% of the time compared to mail delivery.

Struggling so much on Cleric Beast, first time I took him to ~10% but used my molotovs, now I'm fucked. Feels like half the fight is the camera angle too.

I was also curious about this,
I haven't been able to find this NPC, apparently he shows up/disappears during different times or something?

so how do you get past the first area?, there's so many places to go... which is the "right way"?

also to revive your blood echos from the previous death, do you need to kill the enemy that killed you?, or are they on the floor?, i cant seem to find them when i go back..

Just picked up my Bloodborne Collectors Edition from Gamestop. Got my preorder bonus codes for the stupid messenger hat dlc and the Future Press mini strategy guide. The messenger hat one went through fine but im having touble with the mini guide code, is anyone else having an issue getting the future press link to work?

Has anyone been able to download their mini strategy guide or did that get delayed with the full version?

EDIT: NVM the site must have just been getting hit hard. Its working now.
