Still waiting for all of those GBs to finish downloading, I got hit with Driveclub, LBP3, and Dragon Age updates when I installed BB and Borderlands today. Then got hit with 2 huge updates for those games. Waiting for it all to finish because it was laggy as shit.
I am really starting to get a "this is next gen" feeling about this game. It's a Soulslike, sure, but the scale is ludicrous. I was texting a friend about it:
Me: "You know how you can look around Anor Londo and see this huge city that you never really get to explore?"
Him: "yes"
Me: "Bloodborne is like that except you do."
It's just so fucking massive and twisty and I keep finding alternate corridors to explore or optional ways through a single area... It feels like it would have been utterly impossible to do on previous gen hardware.
stopped playing for 2-3 hours and I'm already craving for more. this fucking game
I'm at the 4th boss door, I think. if someone wants to co-op I'm available for being summoned or summon in an hour or so.
- There is a sparkling item hanging off of the ledge in the cathedral ward that I cant seem to get to, right at the foot of the side stairs leading up to boss in cathedral (near scythe wielder)... how 2 get?
- Regarding NPCs you can bring back...:
I invited that guy from the windmill in forbidden woods back to cathedral. He killed TWO OTHER NPCs (the old woman and the girl from the basement of unseen city... Did I mess up?!?! I had to kill him and it was difficult. Can you send infected people to another safe place? Like the clinic?
- There is a door in Cathedral area near the giant ball-mace swinging guy at the foot of stairs with pots everywhere... Cannot unlock... anyone know where the key is?
no idea about your questions since I'm not that far yet but good to know, I was afraid that there was that type of npc. there always is one
anyway I think that all those people become 'useless' after they give you their items. maybe the old lady (more like monster) in red will give you something else when you rescue enough people, I don't know.
Finally beat the first boss, holy fuck. I wish I had found the shortcut there sooner. Jesus. Got him on my second try
Is there any way to compare armors? I don't memorize what stats i'm wearing and right now it's hard to tell if unpurchased things in the shop are better
So, the longer load times are GENIUS. I'm so scared of them that I haven't died once. Based Miyazaki.
Seriously though, this game is pretty much a cakewalk so far - just beat the second boss and haven't died once (other than at the beginning because I didn't know whether or not I could get a weapon without doing so). So many blood vials. And ammo. I used 9 on the second boss (of the latter) and felt like a cheat for doing so. Got some good parries in but man, I hope things ramp up soon.
Or maybe I hope they don't because those loads time will annoy the hell outta me. Pretty close to swapping my laptops secondary SSD into the PS4 just for this game...
Ward and wants a cool detour, follow these instructions:
Go out the front doors of the cathedral, hook around the carriage and go right, into a corner. There should be a tall blue enemy with a bag slung over his shoulder. Let him kill you.
If you're past the second boss and hurting for vials/bullets/etc., coop is a great way to stock up. I only cooped three-four times last night, and storage has about 60 vials in it. I say past the second boss because I think that is the only way you would have enough insight to get the coop item.

Didn't work for me until I used the bell at the nearest lamp. I just waited there until someone joined. You can also change your network preferences from Local -> Worldwide. Maybe that could help? idk
Just beat second boss after a fuckton of deaths! Really satisfying and adrenalin pumping hard now haha.
Not sure if I can repeat if, but I did the following:
1) Left-forward parry and swing sword while circling him.
2) used the pistol a few times - several shots in a row can stun him.
3) transformation = ran away, used the item specifically for the boss, when he was stunned I used molotov cocktails on him.
After molotovs he was at 1% health, but managed to knock me down. Was about to rage, but managed to get away, get full health and swing at him once.
ALWAYS HAVE FULL HEALTH. Even if you only got hit once and lost 20% life just get away and heal up. Otherwise he'll just stun-lock you into death. I had 20 health potions on me and was at 2 when I finished him.
Oh and remember to lock on to him when you throw the molotovs .______. I forgot that with my first one and was about to shit myself.
Also don't use the "secret weapon" on him before he have transformed. He'll just do it sooner otherwise and then you'll be fucked.

So I was thinking about it today in the shower, that the motion controls must only be triggered when you hold down a button. Turns out that button is X, in case anyone wasn't aware
