Welp amazon only just shipped my order and it's not arriving until tomorrow. Not gonna have a chance to play until next week now.

That best buy gamers club looking better and better...thinking about switching over my MGSV preorder now....

You can never warp back to where you were exactly.

Whenever you go back to the Hunter's Dream, you can only teleport back to the lanterns. Whenever you do this, all of the enemies respawn (except bosses). It's like the bonfires in Dark Souls. Anytime you would use a bonfire, it "refreshes" the area.

You will go through areas multiple times. Only go back to the hunter's dream when you have something you need to do, ideally fortify weapons or level up. That way, when you go back to the area, you are stronger and it's easier to make it through. You'll start to memorize the areas because you'll play through them a lot, so subsequent runs become easier just because you'll learn attack patterns and enemy placement.

Hang in there!

alrigjht thanks. I just assumed it was a lantern because it has the same creepy guys and warp to Hunter's Dream. On the bright side I bought a bunch of molotovs, at least it's not like I lost a shitload of souls (or whatever they are called on this one)

I think this gap between lanterns is a little too long though. They sure do tease you in the beginning by making two lanterns like one minute apart from each other in the very beginning

Just got the
flame thrower
from a NPC after getting to the cathedral and going back to central yharnam lamp and talking to the NPC right in front of you.

I chose to believe the long load-times were built into the game in order to give the player a brief respite from the game before being pulled back in.
That, and bathroom breaks.

The hats for the floor messenger guys? You need to go to the PS Store to download it first. Then go to the Hunter's Dream behind the building. See here.[/QUOTE]

oh shit. thanks for this.

has anyone tried killing alfred? i wonder if he has any goodies. i'm just going around butchering npcs.

If the previous games are any indication, those NPCs may be valuable later in the game. You're taking a huge gamble.

That's what I've done as well.

To be honest though I don't even notice the load times, I just check GAF on my phone or something each time I die

Holy shit I am getting wrecked by
Gyula, the gatling gun dude
extremely hard. I have been just trying to avoid all the enemies and dropping from a ledge (which I need to heal afterwards) just to get to the fight faster after dying. Any tips?

That's where I'm at and he's no joke lol
probably easiest to just try and make him fall off :/

Motherf$#&#$"%"#$"#& finally beat the first boss, first try but getting there took like a million tries haha

I just got to him, but I'm gonna take a little break, because the game makes me really tense and stressed. I also died about 30 times on my way to him.

So should I
send people to the oedon chapel?

I sent one to the clinic instead..went there to check on them and yeah..I think I'll be sending them to the chapel in the future, there's definitely foul play going on at the clinic, dat ominous laugh. although the NPC at the chapel doesn't look too friendly himself

Goddamn, this is good.

Two questions; how do you level up (don't spoil it if that's a spoiler. I only just
unlocked the shortcut back to the lamp in central Yharnam.
)

And should I be fortifying my starting weapons? Or should I save the blood crystal things for later weapons?

I'm afraid.

:(

edit: hold on here, look at this quote:

I mean, I'm 10gb over his 12gb. I should be fine!!

Yep, should be!
I've had other games where that wasn't the case but I was able to play Bloodborne last night and I was only at 12gb. BTW I got a notice that I wouldn't be able to play online because I didn't have the full install... But my download finished while I was at work today :)

Good luck and have fun!

Enjoyment has risen the more I get into the game. Don't know how From Software knocked it out of the park four times in a row, but they did.

The
Blood-soaked Beast
fight is pretty cool. the last quarter of it just becomes a race against that
poison meter

It
kills me way to fast to be a race. Once the poison comes out there's nothing I can do. I die in seconds, even with the Black Church Set

Omg I didn't know quitting the game without getting your Blood Echoes back meant you lose them! I just lost 15k and of course it happens when I beat the boss.

Second fight is so much easier if you actually get someone to answer your summons. When he changed to beast form I used the music box and we both just destroyed him :D

Nearly beat Father Gascoigne on the first try, but he did a beast mode Mike Tyson combo on me and ruined that near victory. But he is a lot more doable than Cleric Beast.

Good luck tonight for EU folks that will be able to play. Got work tomorrow so won't stay up unfortunately. It's going to be a looooong day :(

After getting owned 10 or so times by
Cleric Beast
, I just finished it off with... a pebble.

Start at old town: I walked off the edge, further down and killed a couple of monsters. Now there appear to be no way up ?
There was a hooded monster I just killed, maybe I shouldn't or am I dumb and cannot see a ladder?
