Which way should I be going after the first boss? I found myself in the
sewers and then died. I saw the giant pig but didn't fight it, climbed the ladder and wound up on a bridge and like 7 guys charged me and I kept on backing up and eventually fell back where the pig hallway is and died.
. Keep exploring that area or take the other branch where the group of guys are
walking the dog?

Is there any way to disable the game refilling my QS and Vials when I respawn? I hate having 20 and having the ones I pick up while going to the boss wasted.

They aren't wasted. When you are at max, any others you find are put in your stash in the hub. When you die it replenish from the stash up to 20.

Went to my best buy to pick up my collectors. My collectors has been lost by FedEx apparently and they can't guarantee me I will ever get it, thank you for sending me a my order is ready for pick up email best buy.

Put in about 13 hours and 50ish minutes since the unlock yesterday. What an utterly fantastic game. I played 3 hours at the midnight launch and then went to sleep. Picked it up back around 9-10 this morning and didn't put it down except to eat. The time just flew right on by.

so, am i supposed to be grinding blood stuff (currency), going back to the hub, and spending it on attributes? i got first boss down to half health at level 10 so i know its do-able. but will grinding make things easier or does the game scale with you?

Weapon upgrading is generally much more important then levels. The levels will help a bit but practice against a boss will help much more.

Tips for beginners:
- If you aren't finding new lamps, that is fine. You should be looking for shortcuts that loop back to older lamps, not new lamps entirely.
- Upgrade your weapons via the table in the mansion at Dream Refuge if you can. It'll help with damage more then leveling yourself up.
- Both the first boss and second boss are placed in great locations. You should never be out of blood vials and bullets if you run to them from the lamp. Killing the enemies along the way should net you 6 to 10 vials and 4-6 bullets.
- Pressing Up on the d-pad sacrifices some health to make blood bullets. Useful when you know an enemy is coming up and can regain the lost health immediately.

Is there a way to turn off the game auto refilling your blood vials/bullets to 20 every time you die? Because I want to keep them in storage, not lose everything I've accumulated so far when I know I'm going to be fighting something that will probably kill me a few times until I get the hang of it. And going back to the hub and storing the excess vials/bullets is getting tiresome. (And I've only had to do it twice!)

Wow you can run if you hold down circle... Lol
wat.

Using the weapon trick button (L1) during combat is so satisfying.
Fuck yes it is. Rolling into an enemy and flicking it open to one shot them...

Yeah, I think I'm going to hold onto it. It's too good.

The two-handed L2 attack farms those big fat dudes with the bricks so hard it’s not even funny. The Axe is insanely good for PvE, and I’m glad I remade my character to use it instead of the Saw. It’s like the Bastard Sword from DK2 combined with the Bandit Axe from DK1, with a little polearm stabby action thrown in for good measure.

Guys oh my god. I LOVE the Dark Souls styled interconnectedness of the world. Probably not going to be as grabd of a scope since it's not one persistent world, but I hope this is a good kix of DeS and DaS

There's so many spots I missed and discovered up to the first boss.

My one major gripe: load screens SUCK. Not because they are long, but because there is no lore!! It takes a lot out of the game to see a giant logo

Don't use any blood vials until you get the hang of that enemy?

Thanks! Does the difficulty seems fair though? I mean... encouraging or frustrating?

I died more times to the first boss in Bloodborne than any boss in Demon Souls, or Dark souls. But i started with "waste of skin" and was a bit underleveled i think. But still.

I'm not even exaggerating.

It is one persistent world outside of the Hunter's Dream and Chalice dungeons.

Decided to take another path and found a lot more success. Opened a couple of paths and found the first boss. I actually feel like I'm accomplishing something now, so won't give up yet.

You're not going to get that many if
you run to the cleric beast through the house

First night in Bloodborne: Explored around and eventually found my way into a sewer system with giant rats. Found myself a sweet item
full set of bad ass looking hunter armor!
and eventually back out to a shortcut near the first lantern.

Stumbled into the Cleric Beast and beat him on my first try! Although I used like 8 blood vials... Feels like a naturally good high to end on for the night.

Anyone having trouble with Cleric. Concentrate your attack on a single body part like the arms, especially the real furry one. It does not like it when you tear off the flesh and becomes staggered.

Also try to go in with 20 vials. Do not lock on so you can actually sprint away when needing to heal. Watch for attacks where he actually hesitates or leaves himself open.

Well, after playing for a couple hours, I've decided I'll wait for the patch. The loading is annoying, but mostly the aliasing and shimmering is too much for me, it's actually distracting.

I'm having trouble with the ripostey counter-attack moves. I'm pretty good at timing my gunshot at the right time and hearing the "ping" as the enemy kneels down, but when I press R1 it seems to be random whether it's going to execute or not. What am I missing here?

I do it by stopping in front of them and holding R1. No movement seems to help.

Move in real close basically till you are running into them then do it

Just beat
Cleric Beast!
Proud of myself for getting him on my first try as this is my first Souls game.
I'm sure he was a breeze for the rest of ya's
Me too! Killed the Cleric on the first try but I did level up a bit and grabbed the Hunter gear first... Since it's the first boss I'm not sure it's a spoiler but
definitely try to stun lock him at least once...does massive damage. And oil and molotovs are fun to use...

anyone see a bell maiden yet? I'm really curious about what she actually does/looks like.

This game is amazing, so much thought put into everything.
