Played a bit of this yesterday. Liking it so far but I've got a question, how do you use blood vials? I regularly get them from dead bodies but after a ton of deaths they don't show up in my inventory and taking what I do get (pressing up on d-pad) usually decreases my health. What am I doing wrong?

Pressing up on the dpad takes away health for extra gunshot(QS) bullets.

Those blood vials are mapped to the triangle button. They dont replenish on their own so if you dont have any, youll either have to buy more or find em off enemies.

This game is a meatgrinder of despair.

Three bosses down. Clear for #4. Mind and body drained of all life force.

Yharnam might be might favorite game setting of all time. So fucking dense and immersive. Sound design is nuts. Central Yharnam alone might have the best 3D level design I've seen since Sanctuary Fortress in Metroid Prime 2.

I felt like I was being put through the wringer with the first damn area of the game. So many different locations, elevations, enemies, sounds, and horrors. All twisting into each other. It's Undead Burg, but condensed and in hell.

Triangle to use blood vials.

Pressing "Up" on the D-pad converts your HP into bullets when you run out of ammo.

You see the number in the upper left corner.
Below your hp and stamina.
And yeah, triangle to use them.
When you have 20 and find some more, they are transported to a storage in the hub area.

I miss all of the special enemies like Havel, and the knights from Dark Souls. Anything like that in here? Haven't encountered any so far outside of
the hog? I guess

There are Hunters you'll encounter that are unique. They usually wield a weapon that you would have access to. The spoiler you mentioned isn't special.

I've encountered some hunters here and there, they are all really hard and unique enemies.
Going back to Father Gascoigne's boss area should trigger one of them to appear there.

Just missed out on the messenger skins because my digital pre-order suddenly got cancelled AFTER release even after I had already launched the game. My funds were returned and I had to buy the game again. That's just nasty.

I agreed as well. I love Dark Souls, but I think Yar. level design is way better than Undead Burg. The world itself is so dark and grimy. I haven't gotten far in the game but I counted 4-5 different shortcuts that can link different area together already.. I haven't even gotten to the 2nd headstone yet.

I got into
the forbidden woods
for the first time yesterday, kill everything, got 30k money and then attacked and killed by a vicious dog, which I didn't see coming ... Man I hope I can get those back.

So how the heck do you get someone to join your game? I used the bell like 3 times with no luck, I also noticed it uses insight even though no one joined my game is that supposed to happen?

I had the stupidest grin when I found not one, but two doors that were locked from the other side in and around the starting clinic. Can't fucking wait to see how those pay off later. This level design is simply of the highest caliber.

Not as bad as clearing my way to the 4th boss.. get attacked by this tall mob thinking I could get my echoes back, but nope.. got kidnapped and placed to what I will say is Azkaban..

I think I'm going a little bit out of order. Is the third boss typically supposed to be who exactly? For me it was
the crazy girl with the gold pendant that transformed

And there was this forest to the left of that place, which fucked me up really good with all those snipers. I really think I'm missing an entire chunk of the game because it got really hard really quick.

who was your third boss?

Is there anywhere to go after defeating
Father Gascoigne
, other than the gated off area right after? My game is still installing so the game won't let me access that area yet :|

Is it bad that my game stepped up when I moved over to playing on my vita last night to the point of clearing the first boss I was struggling with

This game really is amazing, but I still couldn't personally create a "normal-looking" male character. He looks okay in the creation screen but he looks decidedly different in-game. I remember having the same problem in Demon's Souls several years back [with the creation screen not accurately representing the in-game model precisely]. Something about the eyes or something, I'm not sure what it is. I have seen people who have created some nice designs, so it can be done. Unfortunately it's beyond me. It definitely seems easier to create a female. :/

Oh well, at least I'll likely be covering my face for a majority of the game, so it's not a massive issue. I'm still in love with this game. It's everything I wanted and more. Two bosses down so far and third is incoming. I'm slightly worried about missing NPC's/etc., but that's what New Game+ is for. I'm mostly in it for the story for my first playthrough, and as little spoilers as I can manage.

Oh, and the enemy sounds [especially the crows] are terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.

The time is now 4:30am and I'm getting ready for work....this is going to be such a long day. Last thing I did was get to the old town. This game is so much damn fun when everything is going right for you.
That asshole hunter on the turret was pissing me off so much, got on the roof with him and fought him. Guy had my number for sure but then he went a little too crazy and rolled himself off the roof. I yelled fuck yeah out loud because navigating around while he shot at you is a chore.

Why does it matter?
When you reach that point, you will have an other 30k.

Finished my round for tonight. I've reached the BSB boss but couldn't beat it, so I explored the other route from the Great Cathedral lamplight.

Everything is great so far. My only complaints are very minor such as why can't we warp to other lamplights instead of going through two loading screens. Or how come loading screen is very bare bones with no illustrations or item description.

Story of the little girl with the music box
this is too much ;__;

Are the servers down? Game wont let me play online!

I've died about a hundred times today, it was great. I feel like I know every area up to the third boss like the back of my hand now, though.

Same spot for me, finally conquered that place a few hours ago, got frustrated a bunch of times, but once I got through it the satisfaction was great.

There are 2-3 knowledge items at the church area, 1 at the sew. Defeated the 2 boss should give u around 6-7. Also, I heard we can buy insight later on???

Ye, I've got the few you find early in the world, I just need a way to farm them. I remember reading that some rats drop the knowledge items? And that if you help people kill a boss, you get insight. Or something.

But nevermind that, guess it's not relevant yet. The fucking game still hasn't downloaded completely. It's been over 20 hours, and it's still at around 70%. I'm a grown man but I have to admit, I'm pissed off as fuck. I'm giving you money monthly to not have to deal with this shit, Sony.

I'm done for the evening, but all I have to say is this: goddayum. I had a very hard time enjoying Dark Souls II, but Bloodborne captures me in the same way the original Dark Souls did. I feel very intimidated by the bosses and the game world, and I'm only up to
Old Yharnam.

I have a question though. I'm playing offline, so I was wondering if the game had any offline summoning/invasion system the Dark Souls games had. Or is all of that abandoned in offline play ala Demon's Souls?

This is the slowest working week I've had for quite a while...

Can it be Friday already so I can pick up my Nightmare Edition? :(

I just cant stop thinking about how interesting the whole insight system is. The more "in the know" you are of eldritch abominations and general strangeness, the more you can see (unlock) new npcs or things in the world, simply because your character's mind is open to them.

But if you get too much, I guess you go crazy?
