Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition trailer

I'm still gonna play the game no matter what, but I just find it a little annoying Capcom allowed a physcial release of DmC, but not DMC4:SE (the one most people were excited about). Wonder why they decided to give DMC4 the short end of the stick?

I just find it weird that titles like DMC and Ace Attorney get made into digital titles, but Duck Tales (Not knocking it. It's a damn fine game) gets made into a physical game.

Heads up for people looking to import:

AmiAmi currently has the regular edition up for pre-order at probably the cheapest price you'll find it pre-release, 4070 yen (roughly $34) before shipping. You'll not be charged until it ships, but you're also technically not allowed to cancel. They accept credit cards and Paypal, and will give you a shipping cost estimate once the game is available for shipping.

For those interested in the E-CAPCOM LE, you can either go through a site like nin-nin at a slight premium:
http://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/japa...-edition-e-capcom-limited-edition-ps4-en.html
9,990 yen+shipping (cheapest shipping option is 1990 yen) or around $83 before shipping.

Or you can go through a proxy. I used dv8cag, who has a lot of good feedback and relatively low fees:
http://www.dv8cag.com/index.php?opt...find-it-for-me&catid=35:dv8services&Itemid=53

Simply create an account, submit a ticket with a link to the LE (http://www.e-capcom.com/ec/srDispPr...ctLink/1/1/A10005365/10/10/srDispProductList/ for the PS4 version), and they'll provide you with a pre-shipping estimate. I went with this choice because it looked like the most cost effective way of getting the E-CAPCOM Limited Edition. This is Paypal only, and requires up front payment, but my total was 8,814 yen or $75.73 before shipping.

So, you've got options. I figured I'd lay a few out here now since people were interested. With ANY of the options above, you'll have the options of SAL or EMS. SAL is cheaper, but will take anywhere from 2-5 weeks. EMS usually takes a week, but is pretty expensive. Expect shipping costs of upwards of $15-20, and in the case of nin-nin around $35.

Is it the English version? Or it's the one with Japanese text?

Hope there will be an option for the English dub at least. Was just playing Revelations 2 and there is a multitude of language options.

Well this is the first DMC to have Japanese voice acting as well, so while I feel its likely that the option to switch to English voices will be in the Japanese release for consistencies sake, i dunno if its 100% confirmed.

That's at least a little reassuring. I'll wait until there is some sort of official conformation until throwing down a pre-order. Thanks for the help!

There is going to be English dub in Japanese version as far as I know..

Was there a conformation? Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, but I just wanna be sure.

Wait there's not gonna be a western retail release?

Nope. Sad to say. I'm a die hard Capcom fan, but I'd be lying if I said their recent practices didn't bother me. As much as I dislike choice, I understand why they've been doing this with Ace Attorney, but DMC? Wasn't DMC4 the best selling in the franchise?

They wouldn't be listing the English voice actors if there wasn't going to be English dub.

Most of Capcom's game's that have voice acting in both languages default to English when placed in an American console. And I really doubt they're going to take out voice acting that was already in the previous version of the game in Japan. It's not confirmed but I'm 99% sure it'll be there.

Thanks for this, but do we know if the JP ver. will have Eng. language?

Ah. Thanks for the clarity!

This is all a ploy by Capcpom.

Step 1 - Release DmC Definitive at retail
Step 2 - Release DMC4:SE download only and watch it bomb
Step 3 - "After the success of our recent remasters the fans have chosen the direction they want us to take the series and we are proud to announce DmC2!"

I don't know for sure. It'll definitely have Japanese text, but the question is whether or not you'll have the option to swtich to English or if it'll default switch to English given the region.

Typically Asian versions (not to be confused with Japanese versions) will definitely have English options. REmake's Asian version was pretty much perfect for importing.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting the Asia ver. too, but...I'd need to make an Asia account to redeem any dlc XD.

I would be so down for a DmC2!

It did do pretty bad even for remaster standards.

Well i don't think Capcom had much expectation for DmCDE because, i believed, they knew fans want DMC4SE instead but after seeing they annouced only digital release for the west...i don't know what to think. Oh Capcom, you always surprise me.

We haven't heard official US pricing yet. It's possible it may be cheaper than $40, which may have something to do with it being digital only. Especially on the PC, which is a week later and already features some of the selling points for the console version since it's the base. The staggered release date doesn't make much sense. Maybe $30 console/$20 PC?

The issue is that I just don't see the Asian version available anywhere right now. Also, the e-Capcom version probably won't come with an Asian version equivalent.

Honestly, I'm getting this for the physical goodies. I'm also going to be triple dipping digitally.

Your assumption's correct, he did that and Dagon's theme. His continual presence on the Sengoku Basara series suggests he'll be brought back for DMC5, hopefully he contributes a little more this time.
That's what I would hope, as well.

But I guess so long as they think that we can't get enough of the buttrock and dubstep, it's always going to be a concern I have.

There's been so many BASARA tracks over the last few years that I think could have fit into a DMC game just fine, that it makes my ears even sadder to hear those Vergil and Trish/Lady samples.

Do nin-nin charge you upfront or when it ships?

It looks like nin-nin charges for pre-orders at the time of the actual pre-order.

Since all of these shops have to put in an order with e-Capcom for the Limited Edition since it's exclusive, it kind of makes sense that they would need payment up front. They're basically acting as a large store proxy.

Thanks for the importing guide.

What does the LE come with, again? I skipped out on the last few Japanese Capcom LE's (Strider, Dungeons & Dragons), but I might actually spring for this one.

Oy. Looks like I missed getting to listen to the vergil/trish themes because I was too busy arguing-on-the-internet. They've been marked private. Anywhere else to sample the themes?

EDIT: NM. Found them. Those ARE bad. :(

That's stupid. Why does DmCDE get a western physical release but DMC4 doesnt?

Oh well, this means I'll just import the Japanese copy and probably double dip and buy a digital copy too.

I'd implore people to continue messaging on Capcom-Unity and Twitter to let them know that we really want physical versions in the West. Lately, Capcom feels enabled because they've been met with recent success on the digital only front.

But they are severely limiting their sales by doing this, even with the reduced costs of retail. I think it's really going to end up with lower sales than they want unless they enter the retail space.

Already sent a tweet to Capcom-Unity asking for a US physical release

DMC3 alternate outfit that a lot of people don't seem to know about for some reason

I think most people don't know about it because it required Sparda's costume and it only showed up during the credits sequence, and I think one of the game completion artworks. It's cool, though.

Japanese DMC4 along with all the other DMCs were pretty much all in English except for cutscene subtitles and item descriptions and story text. I find it very unlikely that Capcom will change DMC4's existing UI just because they decided to finally give DMC a proper Japanese language dub. This is Capcom we are talking about, the Capcom that is the master of lazy.

So, you can confirm that the Japanese UI and menus were in English for Vanilla DMC4? That'd be nice.
