yup, email

Ohhh ok, It may have been sent then. I tend to use my parents amazon account because they have Prime, so it's probably sitting in my mom's gmail lol.

Never played a Souls game before and got my ass handed a lot in my first gew hours in BB. After some time I finally got to the first boss and, my god, it was brutal. This thing destroyed me within seconds.
But after a few tries I got better and now I've finally killed that damn thing (although I had to use quite some blood vials) and it felt so good. I haven't experienced a fight that intense in quite a a while.
This game is absolutely amazing.

I didn't have to kill any boss for them to become visible, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. There's an item you can obtain (not from a boss) that makes them visible.
It's clearly just a troll by From. They put the gear next to the gate so that the average player will grab it and go into their inventory, and get grabbed when they're not paying attention.

If that's the case
that you can see them earlier
, thaen I concede that it's not a glitch.

Did you get the music box? Are you parrying using the gun fire counters? These two things really helped me.

If you use the music box too many times in his first form, he'll transform early - so it's best to do the parrying move to get him low health, then do the music box once in his second form and do a charge attack for maximum damage while he is stunned.

How do i get said music box?

People that had no issues with Father G whatsoever: what weapons are you using? How did you handle
his final form?
On my successful run I used the
music box on his beast form
and was able to back stab which left him with like 3% health left. All other attempts I tried to use cane and hammer and would get absolutely curb stomped at the last part.

check out my video, this was my strategy and I killed him on my first try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SBZA6gbJEQ

I am nearing a rage point with him. I have never had a Souls boss give me this much trouble. Even with the stupid misic box. Going to try again tomorrow.

Music box stuns him for a significant period of time, plenty of time to setup the backstab.
But I only did that at the end.

This was my successful run. It's just the fucking
beast form
that I could not deal with:

music box? i should read up on this...

Glad I finally figured out the insight shop. I would have missed the bells for invasion and joining other players. The Ashen Hunter set is pretty nice as well.

I didn't find the werewolves to be too much trouble after I discovered how to dodge past their lunge attack and hit them in the back 2 times before dodging again and rinsing and repeating. Two at once is a pain, but I've found ways to get them one on one, mainly flinging either a pebble or Molotov at them.

What "certain boss" are you guys referring to?
Because I was under the impression that it was the stone that made them visible. I don't recall killing a boss that would have any effect on those.. things.

It's the
boss over the lake. With all the spiders. Once you do that, the sky turns purple and the moon red. Then they are exposed. Did you not do that yet?

What was the trigger to unlock the elevator shortcut to Father G? It was locked first time I went through, unlocked the 2nd time. I don't know what I did.

The Healing Church Workshop has me confused...the top is locked, and the lower area is so impossible to try and drop down to. I can't see that being the main path, I must've died 20 times last night trying to drop onto those thin ledges before ragequitting. Did I miss a path?

I made it to the bottom by carefully dropping from platform to platform.

Use caution once you reach the very bottom.
There's one of those extremely strong enemies carrying uh...a sack of body parts I think, that will pretty much one-shot you down there, so get ready to run
.

The locked door had/has me vexed as well.

I have no idea what the music box is, so I'm guessing I don't have it. :P

Because you know, if you get into these games, it's completely true.

Especially with the lack of a 'hollow' form, Bloodborne should be easier. There's really no consequence to death other than loss of Echoes, and just go try to get them back. If you have trouble it seems many bosses have a secret weakness and even then you can always summon.

But still I expect the used market to be flooded with this game. The hype and mainstream push has been huge and many gamers still hate anything that doesn't give them a quest arrow. At least they bought it in the first place to beef up the sales figures. ;)

So I take it not many here have gotten past the Healing Church Workshop tower yet? Just trying to see if there's a path besides dropping down into it. It feels like the first poorly-designed part so far.

I know people will say "Play how you want." but I want to know something.
Is anyone else grinding the first Yharnam part to get more weapons and stock up on Molotovs?

I already beat the first boss but the second one is giving me trouble so I am grinding/farming a bit.

Game is so much fun, very different (only played Souls series for a couple hours). I love that just in the first part of the game there is so much to discover (
Sewers, shortcuts, the armor set
).

10/10 :p

My CE won't arrive until Friday night thanks to amazon's screw up. Meanwhile i have a question:

How does Bloodborne's difficulty stack up against Demon's and Dark Souls?

I only played a few hours last night but I played both Demon's and Dark Souls. I would say the difficulty seems on par so far with the previous titles. There is no hand-holding here. Plus the new combat mechanics throw enough of a wrench into the mix. I used to be a turtle player that used his shield extensively in Demon's Souls. But there is no shield anymore so I have had to adjust how I approach mobs.

I have died like 7-8 times in just a few hours from many different sources. Snipers that take off chunks of your health while you are fighting mobs, big strong guys that I accidentally challenged too soon, walking into a boss fight at level 10, etc. There is no kid gloves from From if that is a concern.

I saved just before that door. It's Byrgenwerth, right?
But no, I did not fight or kill that boss, and I can see these weird Cthulu/spider things lol

Anyone knows if the hand latern sold in Hunter's dream really is infinitely consumable? And how useful is it?

Also it seems like most trick weapons have quite a balanced strength/skill requirement and scaling, so is it still better to focus on strength or skill like the previous games or spread them out a little more evenly?

didn't manage to beat cleric beast today, at least made good progress :>

the main problem with that boss is the fucking camera. i love not seeing anything when it gets behind geometry and then getting my ass kicked lol. i wish the placement was higher so it didn't hit the damn bridge walls so much.

I had issues killing him. I was trying to use the
music box but i noticed it'd trigger his transformantion sooner.
I finally killed him by abusing parry/riposte.

I beat them the first time I went past them and haven't been able to since every time I try and pull one off eventually the second joins in and they just roll me.

I think i got myself in a bit of a pickle:

So I killed
father Gascoigne
and picked up some sort of amulet at the graveyard, completely unaware of what it was.

So, now im talking to the
music box girl
, only to find out she wants that. But i already used it and it tuned into a blood stone.

Did i fuck up the sidequest?

This
Forbidden Woods
area is my least favorite area. I'm so lost and I couldn't find any shortcuts. I basically just ran to the boss. and summoned someone to help. Thankfully it was an easy fight when you have multiple people.

Man, I'm a little weary about paying full price for this since I never really played a souls game. I kind of want to wait until it goes on sale but I really want to try it out.

People may disagree, but I think From made a mistake by not making coop easier and more frequent early on. I think a lot of people give up early.

So, should I buy the
Hunter Chief Emblem
? I don't want to waste blood echoes on it if it isn't needed.

Yep thats it. Well maybe just getting there triggers it then. I'm trying to figure out how far into the game this is cause I can't get a straight answer. Do you know?

I have no idea what the music box is, so I'm guessing I don't have it. :P

You get the music box from a little girl in one of the houses. Remember where the dried up fountain is? Where you first meet the dogs and where one of the big troll-like guys is pushing against a huge door?

In that area there is a gate. You unlock that gate by going through the sewers, but how exactly I don't remember, you might have already done it. Well, past the gate is a ladder and next to the ladder there is a window. You can talk through the window to the girl and she'll give you the music box.

Later on you can send her to the clinic or the cathedral, but only if you don't give her the red brooch (found on the Father G area). I sent her to the cathedral, but she never got there...

so anyone bought the key for 10000 echoes ? where do you use it and is it worth it?

I'm now before the boss I think
, I throwed the machinw gun hunter from the Tower and fought trough the church/cathredal and opened the shortcut

Which boss? if it's the one I'm thinking, there was sorta two short cuts to get back there. Two elevators.
