Do I chose Waste of Skin for my origin. What am I in for?

Your only option now is to not upgrade any of your stats just the weapons and finish the game. Maybe even try it with no armour equipped. We know someone will do it, you might be just the first person.

R1 attack?

But he is way too aggressive to keep him out of range

Did he maybe get nerved with the day 1 patch? :D
Haven't downloaded it.

I was dodging pretty frequently and getting behind him. Mixed up R1, R2 charge attacks and molotovs. Keep at it, it took me a few tries.

Did you finish it? And what do you mean exactly? Hidden bosses? etc?

I didn't finish it but watched a lot of videos
But...

Minor Chalice spoilers
You have to get to the bottom of the chalice to fight a specific boss that's required for a trophy. There are LOTS of bosses in the chalice, some re-treads some not. It also gets super hard.

Minor spoilers concerning endgame (nothing specific)
There are three endings and the "true" ending and real final boss can not be fought unless certain conditions are met which anyone playing blind probably won't trigger on their first go. You can also beat the game without fighting optional bosses in the world

Fuck fuck fuck fuck i missed the encounter with
Eileen The Crow
, i hope it's not too late now (i'm at the third boss)... i wanted to play dressed as a plague doctor SO badly. :(
I will seriously restart the game if she's not where she's supposed to be. :(

don't get yourself down too much, at the start i got my ass kicked by this game even tough i have beaten all of the past souls games. I finally managed to beat the first 2 bosses after i switched weapons, something finally clicked after that. Basically don't give up.
Yeah I'm gonna keep going, I'm terrible but I'm having fun with the game. I'll be lucky to get to the first boss today at the rate I'm going lol

You uploaded right off the ps4? Is there anyway to up the quality? I can't seem to find it in the settings

yeah, just upload direct to youtube

720p is the highest it will go for these types of captures.

just capture your video, and you either upload direct from the first menu that appears when you either save the video or upload it, or go to capture gallery and upload to youtube from there.

I then go into youtube for some finishing editing

still figuring out youtube's editor so will prob have much better videos in the future. for now just throwing them up.

The game isn't designed for people to stroll through with their friends at their side - it wants you to be miserable and lonely.

The summoning has always been intended as a helpful tool when you struggle than a way to co-op the entire game

Uh, okay, great. Why add online coop if I'm not allowed to play it as much as I want to? I'm fine with working for my insight - farming, whatever. But I want a way to get it infinitely. Right now it seems like a very limited resource, and it's really turning me off.

I think he is talking about wanting to do unlimited Sunbro like you can in other Souls games. This is a big factor for me. If I can't Sunbro endlessly, I probably won't enjoy the game as much.

THIS.

Honestly, if its not easy/unlimited, I'll prob end up playing the DS2 port more, even though I'm feeling this game more.

I'm glad at least some people agree with me. Over half of my time with DkS2 was spent helping other people. I want to do that this time around too.

Now I'm, what, 5 or 6 hours into the game? And I could barely summon a couple of people with me if I wanted to, and I have no way of helping others.

i think she'll have moved onto the central ward area. i say i think b/c i just killed her and took her stuff.

Once you get 10 insight you can buy the small resonant bell to help others. I think at that point it should become easier - you'll get insight from beating bosses with them and then use that insight to summon people to help yourself.

It should balance out pretty well overall

As I just noticed, the online component hadn't loaded all the way til now. Now all those messages and stuff pop up at the bottom. Is nobody annoyed by that? A little distracting at times.

I ended up switching to Offline Mode because I found the number of messages/blood pools it was throwing at me compared to previous Souls games completely distracting. I liked the system in Demon Souls/Dark Souls as it gave the game a sort of haunted feel, but in Bloodborne it doesn't fit as well and there are just too damn many of them. Once I turned them off the game world felt a lot more immersive.

It just means you have to help people to get Insight as well. If you're just leeching off players for help you'll definitely run out of Insight.

What are the requirments for the best ending? Have they figured this out yet?

some weapons scale with multiple stats. the saw cleaver takes advantage of both str and skill, but scales better with str. i would call it a str weapon in this case. take the saw spear, which as similar stats to the saw cleaver but has a D rating in skill making it scale better with skill.

you're right in thinking str weapons get stronger with the str stat and skill weapons with the skill stat. it's just that some of the weapons, especially the early ones, have their scaling stats spread out. the threaded cane has a C rating in skill, so you know it scales better with skill even though it has str and arcane requirements. hope that makes sense.

Yes I think I got it now. Thanks.
I thought there were just 3 classes of weapon and each was governed by one stat. So in this case with the cleaver and professional starting point. it won't get AS MUCH benefit from the skill stat but since it's already raised dumping everything into a lower STR stat would benefit me as much as I think.

I think I need to just start over. I haven't killed the first boss yet and I think I'd rather have the cane. Who knows.

i chose waste of skin as well and this is my 1st souls game
since you start at a lower level by the time you're the same level you'll probably have better stats than other classes (at least i think so)

The Sunbro stuff was THE reason why DS clicked w/ me. I'd normally hate games like this, but getting to see other dude's armor/how they played, and then getting good and paying it forward was awesome. It also was nice to know that you were never truly fucked at a boss, and could ask for help easily.

I dunno. I liked that system a lot.

Man not sure if I can take these load times

Probably gonna wait for a patch.

I am used to the DS games but long load times are killing the fun of devising combat strategies for me

How do you parry? I have staggered some mobs with the blunderbuss (they like kneel down and you can walk up to them and do massive damage) but I have no idea how to trigger that, seems random.

that 'father' guy is the second boss right? I ended up fighting him first...the hell? lol

He was my first boss too.

It is unlimited.
If you want help you have to help people.
If you want to be a dick to people and invade them you have to help people.
It's a balanced trade-off.

So you do get insight by helping others? This is all I want.

this is all I wanted to hear. thanks.

now i just need to get 2 more insight somewhere.

It's like a parry in Dark Souls. Shoot them as they are attacking to stagger.

Usually for me it's been triggering if I shoot at the very start of their attack.

Seems to be timing, like while they are mid-attack. But for some reason I can pull it off 100% against certain enemies and not at all vs others (the large dude with a concrete slab for a hand i can never seem to parry)

If nobody has said this, the 'how to level up' part is slightly off I think.

ENB showed it's based on the 'Insight' stat, and you need at least one insight to activate her and level up.'

No one seems completely sure. You have to have all the umbilical cords, at least, maybe the yharnam stone too. I'm hoping exact details come out before I get there.

I don't even know if I have one of them. I do have some odd
snail looking item. Is that one? Also I just finished the boss with all the spiders, woudl you say that is accurate and it's half way?
Sucks the guide couldnt come out on release. I have no problems being requirments for endings but I don't know if I can play this again right away to get the best ending which sucks. lol

Is there a level limit to coop? A friend was able to summon me and he was 29 and I was 20. I just assumed it was like Dark Souls. If not, or if its lax, I'm down to help beginners with some early bosses or areas.

Would love to get some jolly cooperation going.

Yep. Can't peak or you ruin it. Just run up and rush at him ASAP!

If I remember right, you get it from touching a skull after fighting a boss. Though the door your talking about might be the one you either need to buy the key at the dream hub for.

thanks! i will check it out. didnt know i already got the password.

Online still works best in Demon's Souls. You basically have to initiate being invaded in this game. Kind of a bummer :/

The Wheelchair guy in hunters dream isn't where he was for me, and hasn't been for a few hours. This happen to anyone else? Before you ask, I did not attack him.

what a joke of a boss. Absolutely fucking stupid.
