The gun mechanic is incredibly satisfying.

I have to say that no shield, emphasis on movement and more aggressive enemies takes this game into a very different realm.

Miyazaki is unmatched.

How do I get summoned into other folks worlds? I know the bell I s used to summon people but I want to join people not have them join me

You need atleast 10 insight, new merchant appears in hub. You can buy the items to do that with insight, unlimited uses once you do. You gain insight when you help people kill bosses, so you can make it up and more. I was insight grinding last night, so many people need help with cleric and stuff.

Anyone know??? It's beside the ladder that leads to the Numbing Mists??? Pls.

I think:

This is the one where you go right from the cathedral latern and up the elevator. Go across the bridge to the tower. Go down the tower (lots of falling) and get to small city area. Explore this and at the back of the city is an elevator that takes you to this ledge.

Oh god, I really don't want to fight this
crazy guy at the base of the gatling gun tower
again.

Just helped someone beat him, def gonna get myself some help for him too. We got lucky and he just randomly fell off after a half a minute of fighting him.

Need some help as a new Souls player..

Finally beat the 1st boss.

A) Where to go next?

B) I have a lot of Blood Echoes. What do I spend it on?

A)
To the sewers, which is to the left of the rock wielding ogres and past the caged dogs iirc.

B) Level yourself up and fortify weapons back at the hub. How you level yourself depends on your play style and preferred weapons, though you can't go wrong in buffing your vitality and endurance initially.

My biggest complaint right now is not being able to respawn enemies by merely touching the Lanterns, and sitting through two load screens. I’d hope that touching Lanterns like Bonfires could become a thing with patches… but perhaps not. Waiting on that loading screen patch.

Oh, and the camera during boss fights. It has fucked me over at least three times.

I think im gonna go ahead and watch some ENB and Vaatidya guides.. I feel like there are just some few mechanics in the game that I will not figure out on my own. Shit 4 hours in I stil ldont know how to level up lol.

Shadow of Yarnham
fight is utter bullshit.

I thought it was fairly easy, got it on my second try.
I ended up trying to keep them all at the same health level, so you don't get that nasty surprise when there is only one guy left.

GAF, help. I'm hovering over the button to purchase a PS4 and Bloodborne.

I need to know, though. Does this game require PS+?

The online portion does. Coop, invasion, etc..

Wow, 4 more hours to download the patch with a 100 Mb connection. How can Sony's servers be this shitty?

Make sure you put your PS4 in rest mode so it downloads faster.

I try to let the faster guy with the sword come after me on his own while dodging the others. Then prioritizing from there. I almost had the fight but I slipped up at the last second. After that I just summoned someone to assist.

Do you know where the next lamp is?

This.

I hope it's something that can be added later, but I'm not getting my hopes up. :(

Yeah, that's what I did most of the fight, although I was parrying two at a time. So two of them
transformed
and were hitting me with "melee" attacks from a contintent away while trying to dodge fireballs. This was only my first attempt, but the fight is still bullshit.

Playing some more right now, and arrived in the area after the first two bosses (
Old-Yharnam
). Some observations:

Using fire to kill enemies
Now, there are a lot of beast-humanoid creatures in this section, and while attacking them with molotov cocktails and torches is good, I think the most effective way to kill them is to equip the torch and 'guide' those monsters into the burning boles. Because once you equip the torch, they might attack you once, but they will react to the torch and keep their hands above their faces. I managed to 'guide' several of them into the fire and then quickly slice them; the reason why I do this is that the torch has a low attack speed and it might cause trouble when fighting against these quick creatures.
Note: the ones wearing a blanket don't fear the, assuming that the blanket protects their eyes and fell from the fire. Pretty cool design choice.

Exploit: Killing the machine gun hunter very gun
I won't describe how you will get to him but I accidentally found a way to kill him without using anything other than the environment. Climb up the ladder, but do not climb on the top, stay on the ladder. He will take a few steps forward and wait for you there. Now, you climb down the ladder and when you hear him taking the ladder as well, hold circle to slide down the ladder and take a few steps back, and he will fall to his death.

Exploit: Killing the aggressive hunter roaming around
You might have noticed a hunter wandering around close the wooden ramp which leads to a closed lattice gate and the cathedral. What I did was the following; get his attention, stay at the top of the ramp and waiting for him doing his moves. He will run around like crazy when he notices you and will trying to engage you and escape you at the same time. So, what he will do most of the time is instead of walking up the ramp pulling out his gun and shooting at you; he might hit you, so step back. But sometimes he dares to go up and tries to attack you with a melee attack. Now's your chance to quickly shoot him right before he attacks and stun him. Get close, press R1, let the animation play and when he's laying on the floor, slash him until your stamina empties; the thing is, he won't do anything and will prioritize escaping. If he has less than half HP, do this again, but be warned that he's able to heal himself as well. If you do it and he has very low HP, follow him and finish him off; try to shoot him on his way back to cancel any healing attempts.

General tips for non-Souls players:

Using heal when picking up items
If you have less than 100% HP and are about to pick up an enemy drop, heal yourself with triangle and then pickup the item. Chances are high that it is a blood phial.

Using lock-on as combat mechanic
Lock-on is not only there to lock the camera and following one enemy; it can save your life if you play your cards right and use its switch ability. Just like the other games that use the Soul framework your character always turns into the direction that is locked on; if you for example are doing a charge attack and notice another enemy is approaching you fast from a different angle, tip the right stick to switch your target and your character will now turn towards that target.

Hope this might help some of you!

I honestly didn't notice this, touching the lanterns doesn't respawn enemies, really?

I love seeing posts like this rofl
I am not alone!

I am 5 and half hour in, level 19 and only the first boss is dead :p
I'm probably about 5 hours in too, and realilisticly in about 20 minutes of progress into the game.
I just made it to bridge with the two wolfs by luck, but died 😳

I've had the game since midnight launch.....

But I love it so far

reposting for new page.

I went back to the clinic, no idea what was going on - mid-late game spoilers

-
I found a female npc who turned hostile right away, I killed her. did I fuck up? What was I supposed to use in order for her to don't be hostile?

-
I sent the crazy man of the forest to the clinic but I can't find him anywhere. plus the lady that promised me a "reward" if I brought back people to the clinic is gone.
why?

also do we know something about the fucking
beast mode?
Do they still have to patch it in or what.

A question about co-op.

IF I invade another players game and we beat a boss... do I get credit for killing the boss in my game or is it just the person that I am helping?

I think this game shouldn't have been reviewed until the online experience was available. I'm pretty sure it wasn't, right? It's honestly fucking worse than Demon's or Dark Souls, which is insanely frustrating. Insight being as limited as it is, I want to play cooperatively with someone, well too fucking bad because nobody connects to me and it wastes Insight. Something I'd like to save 10 of at the very least, but no it goes to the fucking wind.

gonna ask a stupid question: did you put the network to worldwide? couldn't find anyone for ages, then checked the settings and there it was, set to local on default. after that it was like the plague, kicked one out, who just ran through the damn game and killed everything. seconds later another one was already on the way.

not a big fan of the system, but maybe it needs to grow on me.
