How do I make myself available to help others? I like helping others to get an idea of how to beat bosses. I'm fighting the
blood starved
boss and it's proving a bit challenging.

Also, after attempting a boss a few times I run out of vials and bullets. What do you guys do, go kill mobs to farm them and then try the boss again? Wish I could just keep doing a boss over and over until I get it but I have to resupply.

Anyone?

Are you saying useless in that they do low damage or useless in that there are better firearms for counterattacks? I'm curious if there's something faster or with a better 'parry window'. As it is right now I don't have much use for the pistol's longer range than the blunderbuss, because it's not like enemies even attack before they are in close range.

Now if there was a gun with tiny range that was as fast and responsive as a demon's/dark souls parry animation then I'd be all over that.

It doesn't change the parry timing... well except you use the canon which is a bit slower and consumes way more bullets. They are useless because they dont do damage.

When I was low on vials I just went my farming route:

Central Yharnam
Go to the left shortcut, kill the dude down there, go into the house and kill everyone (sometimes +2 vials, 4QS bullets)
Go up the bridge, lure the werewolves back to the house
Get inside and cheap them to death because they wont hit you (+6 vials)
Kill the big dude on the bridge by abusing parry (+2 vials)
Go down to the other two dudes and do the same (+4 vials)

Easy.

Dat Van Helsing look.

Finally stopped getting sidetracked and got past Blood Starved Beast. Slow and steady.

Isn't father casgoine supposed to be on the bridge before the cleric beast to help with the 2 werewolves? Because he is nowhere to be found for me... Am i missing something because he is not there? Some chatter or item?

Can't beat the first boss, countless tries. Its getting demoralizing, what could I be doing wrong? Shooting it does nothing. I fear this game is too souls for me..

Shooting is not for damage, its too weak. It is for stunning/staggering, you want to get close to the Cleric Beast and time your shot as he is attacking. If you stagger him successfully you can quickly run up and R1 him and itll do a massive damage attack.

Other than that, use as many molotovs as you can and try to stay behind him. When he jumps up run away as fast as possible.

Beat the cleric beast on my first try. Then again, I stocked up on molotov cocktails and spammed them like no tomorrow. Also, I dodged like mad while keeping a close distance, being careful to attack it from the sides. It was exhilarating.

Do you have to have 1 insight to be able to talk to the doll after you have activated her? Thinking about gambling that insight to fuck with the first boss.

HOLY SHIT STUMBLED ON A SECRET HIGH LEVEL AREA!!!

The area where you find that Kirkwood Hammer wielding NPC (and entrance to get into Old Yarnham), on the right corner outside of the building there's a Grim Reaper looking dude who if he kills you transports to his area with a new cutscene! There is also a boss there the Dark Beast plus some nice loot. Warning its a very high level area! There's a lamp there as well so you can attempt to clear the area but the Grim Reapers and the giant pig hit for a fuck ton!

Is that the weird glowy thing?

just outside of the church? I assumed it was some weird magic projectile or something. If i let that hit me I can find the area?

Do uncollected echoes disappear when you exit the game?

Right, after around four hours of downloading on my 100 Mb connection, the patch wasn't even halfway downloaded yet, so I proceeded to pause and resume the download a few dozen times and now it's going much faster, 8 minutes remaining. Should have done that hours ago, maybe then I would have had time to actually play the damn game today...

Buy the key for 10.000 blood in the hub from the merchant. This is the main game way - blood beast is optional.

I was wondering if that's what that was for, but didn't necessarily want to grind for something that is supposed to be found/achieved through my actions in-game than through the shop.

Might still tackle the latter for laughs.

Edit: Woohoo
Flamesprayer!

Not really high-level area, its about appropriate for 7/8th boss.

Is the rune you get from the Eileen quest really worth it? Because I'm going to be pretty bummed out missing on a rune that increases stamina regain speed. Is there any similar type rune that I could get instead?

Given how smoothly Dark Souls 2 runs, it's sad to play with the performance of Bloodborne. I would be okay with 30 FPS if it was at least smooth without that annoying hitching...hopefully the patch they're working on helps.

It's not that. It's an enemy you can fight to get transported to the zone. You will know when you see because he's not indigenous to that area and he's stronger than any other enemy in that area.

I'm lost now. No idea where to go after the 4th boss
Amelia.

Two ways:

Go outside her church and to the right. Follow the way to a village area.
Go back to the plaza and take in the 90° directon the right exit, then left, down the stairs in the house and you will meet Alfred again now. Talk to him with the new option and he will give you a password. Go down the stairs, open the door with the password and go to the Forgotten Forest

I wonder if the CA is adding some issues? Really wish they had an option to remove it. :D

Blood-Craved Beast down. Holy fucking shit. Most intense fight ever. Was completely out of healing shit and half energy. Used up my molotovs. He was down to just a sliver so I just started swinging away. Realized I had accidentally put my fucking weapon away, so I'm just fisting the shit out of him. Luckily I noticed quick enough to pull my weapon back and and finished him off. Fuck.

Made it out through the sewers just fine! Found the Saw Spear and this lady who gave me 4 Hunter's Mark and some Escape item thing that I can't locate. Anyone know what it was?

Wait just a second no way in hell is
Hypogean Gaol
. Just smoked all my Blood Vials on the
dudes with sacks and a pig
. Is this really the way forward after beating
Blood-Starved Beast
?

Literally right after I post about needing help with BSB I beat it's ass lol.

Didn't even realize you could parry it. Once I found that out it was over.

Done with the game until the storage bug is fixed. Character I want to play is stuck with disappearing vials and it's killing my desire to play. Sucks, but at least Pillars is coming out this week.
What's the storage bug? I checked my storage and didn't have hardly any vials even though I should have had stored at least 60. Is that related to the bug?

No optional stuff you are doing right now. Blood Starved Beast isnt even main content.

Try another warp stone in the Hunter's Dream. Should be the third one.

Thanks.

Summoned someone and they died but the bell icon is sill there next to my quick item slot, so I guess it's trying to summon more people? Would be nice if it was a bit clearer. Oh well.

So what is a good order for the bosses...So far Ive beaten Cleric Beast, and Father G. I have opened up the cathedral, and unlocked the main gate from the item you can buy. So I know i can head to either BSBeast, or Vicar Amelia, or Gatling guy i think?
