yup , but I think it disappears like a bug if an enemy hits it.

the other thing though, I have no idea wtf it is or how it happened or how to get rid of it haha.

I had trouble getting it to appear until I cleared out all the enemies in the area. lots of spikey dogs

Go to the first area of the game and go behind you to a staircase you can talk to a woman who offers a safe haven for people. Seems shady though. She does offer a gift however.

I have completed the game, and is well in to NG+. Still, this is news to me. :p

Well, I can tell you what happened to the two women I sent to the church. They
both died.

I want to love the Kirkhammer, but I cant. It's too slow and besides a charged hammer attack, it just doesn't deal much damage in hammer mode. Axe seems a lot better and safer.
Same. I am leveling them both in tandem, but I find myself only using the axe unless I'm fucking around farming or something.

Are the warped twinblades a mid to late game weapon? I feel like those will be perfect for me...gotta keep my skill stat high for it I assume.

Just beat the Cleric Beast. Honestly, the 2 werewolfes were way harder. You need to be more patient in this game, seeing as how the are more mob packs.
Key for the Cleric for me (like in DS1) is to learn to toggle on/off lock on while fighting to position/evade agains the enemy.

I sitll have problem with parries though. My weak point in Souls games...

THIS GAME guys...

How long does it usually take to call someone with the Beckoning Bell? I have been standing around for 10 minutes in front of the Father fog gate and nothing.

NPCs don't do shit and only give you gestures. The quests are buggy too. In my NG+ the person you mentioned still lives because she said she would kill me if I go upstairs inside the house. :P

For your mentioned mode:

You get beast claws as a weapon where the beast status is important. The more you use the special attack and items the more you arm will transform and do more damage

At the moment I am going for the true ending and well the things that I missed like Covenants (found two new ones, one of them is very badass).
thanks. oh well, by the time I'm in NG+ I hope to see some info on the wiki about NPCs, that might help when I try to get all the stuff that I missed.

so about
beast mode,
that's it? I thought that you could
transform into a beast somehow.
and I'm sure that a lot of people thought about that too.

Have only played for 5 hours or so but I am in love with the game so far.

So far I think all the changes have made really force you to engage with all of your tools a lot more than the Souls games where I felt like I could R1 and dodge my way through the whole game.

Beat the Cleric Beast on my second try, was a pretty cool fight. Now I'm stuck on Father G. My current approach: Get real close and bait out his melee attacks so I can counter him with a shotgun blast, but every time I get to the 'transformation' part I get wrecked. Staying a safe distance and chucking molotovs seems to be the best approach. I just put the game down a few hours ago and I've been wanting to jump back on ever since.

How do you think I should progress now? I chose troubled childhood as my origin and the only stats I have touched is Skill and Endurance.

Vit - 9
End - 15
Str - 9
Skl - 25
Bld - 6
Arc - 9

What happens if you kill the wolf in the clinic at the start, out of curiosity?

I got him to about 1/4 health just dodging and R2 punching, but then when he hit me his regular attack did WAY more damage than it did when he hit me with it the first time and I got one-shotted.

someone please tell me how to get a weapon?

You can either die to the wolf or you can run past him, open up the gate and lower the ladder and activate the first bell which you can get to the huntman's dream. Dying is faster but if you do all the other stuff than you can just warp back to the first main checkpoint.

THIS GAME guys...

The two wolves were easy once I realized to back myself into the back corner of the bridge near the cart and R2 the shit out of them. Just beat Cleric Beast too, took me three tries. Now I have to decide if I want to buy the Kirkhammer or stick with the saw cleaver and keep upgrading stats. Which is the better idea GAF?

Finally got Father Gacione. My heart was racing. So many close attempts. The music box had a very delayed reaction. Hit him with a moltov during transformation and then used the box. It didn't stagger him. Dodged a 3 hit cycle and then he staggered. Hit him with 2 more molotovs and dead. Phew.

Is there a secret to equip the gun? I feel like such a noob while playing this game.
Press start -> dpad down
First two slots represent your right weapon. Second two represent your left. Gun goes in one of the left weapon spots.

In game, press left/right on dpad to equip/switch between weapons in each hand

I believed.

level design in this game is stellar, as expected.

boss number 5 and 6 were a bit disappointing, they just rely on
gank squads.
however it was neat to see the transformations during boss fight #6, for me
besides the classic stuff, the last guy left alive started to summon giant snakes.

Until the frame issue is corrected, 'smooth' is a word that will never be associated with this game.

The only thing I can think of is that they must have gone directly from playing AC Unity to this.

I'm loving Bloodborne but you are right - smooth is the opposite end of the spectrum from what it is.

Axe/Pistol

My first try, I almost had it down then I figured I should figure out the parry system on it. Since then, I get half-way then I can't do anything.
I used the same combo, the only thing I'll say is to dodge a lot and use the charge attack as much as you can when he's not in beast mode, after that you need to come close and hit as much as possible

do you need the bell to summon people

where do you find it?

There are 2 bells, one to summon people and one to get summoned. The one that lets you summon people you obtain when you get your first insight, when you do, just go back to the hunters dream and its on the floor like the weapons. The bell to get summoned to help people you get when you have 10 insight and go back to the hunter dream and unlock the insight store. Look in your inventory, an item called Madmans knowledge gives you insight as well as finding and killing bosses. You don't seem to lose insight by dying so theres no harm in using a madmans knowledge, it stays on you and is only used when you summon people to help (1).

I'm almost considering putting the game aside until the next patch. Hopefully it'll be out before too long and improve the performance by a decent amount.
