Can't get enough of staggering brick guys and eviscerate the crap out of them. This game, this game right here.

I'm happy parry/reposte is an important mechanic in this game. Always enjoyed it in previous Souls games but DkS2 fucked it up and made it a chore to do. Miyazaki knows what's up.

So I found a chapel and
a weird dude there told me to talk to others NPC to going there, and Im not sure what to do.
The chapel looks like some kind of Firelink Shrine style hub were NPC would reunite, but the guy looks creepy as fuck and I fear it may be a trap...

Fucks sake. Tried to take on cleric beast about 10 times. This last time had him down to 1/3 health with plenty of vials to spare. This could be it then I strangely can't undo lock on because lock on and I'm sweating. Camera then gets stuck in his hair, can't see shit, stuck in a corner then I'm dead.

Completed Demon Souls but this boss is just ridiculous....and it's the first one.

Four bosses down. Just beat
Vicar Amelia
.

I think this might be the easiest "souls" game for me so far. The new dodge while locked on is really good. Most regular encounters end with me unscathed or even if I do get hit I end up recovering the health I was supposed to lose thanks to that new health regen system. I rarely have to use Blood Vials and even if I do use them enemies drop so many that I never really run out or feel worried that I'm going to run out.

Still, I'm having fun. Looking forward to what's next.

arrrgh gotta decent amount of schoolwork due on Tuesday that I haven't even started yet, and I really don't want to start tonight even though I should.

Would rather play this game for like 6 hours tonight, game is awesome

Dark Souls is the only other that I've put serious time into, but I prefer Bloodborne's action focus. I'm also more awed by the environmental design of Bloodborne.

Yharnam is one of the most fascinating and intricate game locals I've had the pleasure of experiencing. The level design is...next-level, even compared to previous Souls games, and should be one of the high watermarks of the industry. It has the inticracy and density of Demon's Souls with the thoughtful and surprising interconnected world of Dark Souls (opening the shortcut to the Central Yharnam lantern and activating the elevator to Gascoigne are so fucking sublime). Combat is fast, furious, precise, and stressful. Parrying into a visceral attack is simply one of the most sadistically satisfying actions I've ever performed in a video game. Atmosphere is so thick that the sharpest of knives can't cut it, and the sound design is equally as sublime. The weapons are so incredibly badass I still can't believe it. This fucking game right here.

Here is Irvin Dummodo. Loving this game so far. Up to the 3rd boss.

Best parry/riposte in any of these games. There's a bigger window of time, but enemies are way more aggressive, and it's so satisfying. The pistol is way more useful than a shield ever was to me in Dark Souls

Ah, I might have accidentally killed a NPC. Can anyone confirm? (spoilers for ~lvl60+ btw)

In the nightmare college 1st floor, is the spidermanbeast good? I immediately attacked.

I think the location For
bidden Forest is one of the only areas I haven't been a huge fan of so far.

What do others think of the area?

Anyone whos defeated the V
icar Amelia
, what level did you do it at? I find myself summoning in others for this boss, as I just don't do any damage.

And to anyone who uses it, do you like the Threaded Cane? I just hate it, but I have yet to find another skill weapon.

I feel like I'm underleveled, but I'm unsure.

Oh Uhm and guys if you so happen to run into a boss without knowing it and have a ton of blood echoes on you? Use the bold thingy that returns you to the dream with your blood. That's a better way to spend your stuff instead of losing it =]

Those work while in a boss encounter?

I was actually wondering if exiting the game while facing a boss was a way to keep your souls as well.

anyone else feel cheap when using molotov cocktails? So far they work a little too well in the first main area of game.

They wreck father G if you have a good amount of them. Though I ended up just summoning someone and beating him on the second try. Was interested to see how co op worked. Now in Old yarnham getting my ass handed to me by hunters. Had a Hunter, a crow, a regular enemy and the hunter with the machine gun all attacking me at once. I was like wtf. I ran to a safe place, dispatched the hunter, climbed the building to the guy with the machine gun who disposed of me in a matter of seconds...Much harder than dark souls for me so far.

Possible late game spoilers question.
So I just beat the Shadow of Yharnam in the forbidden woods. I got to the area where you fight the hunter, and got the key upstairs. So if I talk to the guy in the wheel chair will it take me to endgame or boss? Worried I'll get put into NG+ too soon.

Saw Spear seems like a decent early game skill weapon.

I only just realized how much the cover art looks like Destiny's. Do we have a third? Or should we expect No Man's Sky to somehow have the back of a dude on the cover?

Wow, some enemies can be completely stunlocked with Viceral attacks..Found one of those dudes with a sack over his shoulder that drops the tier2 upgrade materials..get behind him, charge > viceral > charge > viceral and dead.

I'M TRYING IT DOESN'T EQUIP. i can either "equip" which is greyed out or discard.

Press Options.
Put weapons in the second row slots visible.
DO NOT go to inventory. You can't equip anything there.

I made the same mistake. UI logic is strange.

I first attempted her at level 28, got close a few times, then powerleveled to 42-ish. It helped a bit but my swings (with powerful strength-oriented weapons) were still only doing at max 160 each to her, mostly just 50-60.

That boss fight is all about patience. Just get one or two hits in, jump backwards and avoid her attacks.

I'm now trying to find the forbidden forest. Just got finished beating the 3 weird looking slime witches and this game is ridiculously good. Been a long while since I havn't been as immersed as this in a game. It's addicted as hell too, so many different paths, so many ennemies, so gratifying when getting parries with the gun.

Invaded someone for the first time earlier, and happened to run into the woman that rings the sinister bell.

Love her design, so creepy.

End and vit are your most important stats. Leveling of skill, str etc should only come as a secondary when you know for sure or if you want to wield a specific weapon.

Alright but don't skill, str etc. influence how much damage you do? So if I simply ignore them wouldn't that hurt me later on?

Also should I focus more on endurance or on vitality? Or are they equally important? Thusfar the vitality gains seem to be very little, seeing how hard some enemies hit I'm not sure if I'm not better off prioritizing endurance.

Played the game for an hour and a half and I'm really liking it so far. I particularly like how very early on you get crowd control aspects.

The thing that had a hard time sinking in is the fact that lanterns seem closer to archstones than bonfires, in that you can't simply click one to heal and respawning mobs. On the one hand, it's a step back as traveling to Hunter's Dream can be tedious. On the other hand, I guess it's a completely different economy as you're not supposed to keep resting at lanterns as there are other means to maintain/regain health.

Fall into the lake at the end of the platform.

Sums up my thoughts exactly, combat and especially the evade mechanic is so satisfying to execute, its unbelievable...

Yep, only I do the L2 moves with my Holy Blade or Hunter’s Axe. Feels much less risky. Works on all big enemies so far.
