This is what I don't understand - my Saw Cleaver is at 227,
Ludwigs
at 260, but per hit I'm getting more damage from my Cleaver, enough to where I 2 shot instead of 3 shot a mob.

Is
Ludwigs
really better than the cleaver? Both are at +6

In EpicNameBro's walkthrough he mentioned that the Cleaver gets some damage boosts under certain circumstances. He didn't go into details, but maybe that's it?

I just killed the 3rd boss in my second attempt, the easiest so far but... he killed me at the same time lol! did I win or what? I got all the throphies though. I went back to Hunter's Dream but I asume the boss won't be in his place when I go back there... right?

Where do I go after killing the
witches
?
Assuming you have
killed Vicar Amelia, make your way down the stairs from where you fought her into an open court yard where there are two giant enemies. On your right is a path follow it to a door and give the password. Welcome to the next area-it's a fucking nightmare.

i am at endgame-ish right now and i cant touch ANYTHING. im level 60 and i cant possibly belong here atm. there has to be somewhere else for me to go first.

Where's next lantern after the mob in the beginning, and when you use it will the mob reappear when you return from the Hunter's Dream, like they do after you've visited there via the preceding lantern? I'm starting to get fed up with beating up the rematerializing mob several times in a row, as I've visited the vendor every once in while, and bought most of the Hunter gear already. The mob is not so much a challenge than a nuisance, that's blocking me from proceeding my journey.

The crows in this game are the creepiest enemy type. I mean good lord, they are terrifying. The jump up to attack and then scream with a bark-like sound.
When they dropped on me in the sewers from above, the first time, I flipped the fuck out like I never did before, Hoooly shit. :D

Just killed the third boss. I found that at the beginning side stepping and hitting him once then backing off worked fine. Then when he gets more aggressive I started stepping towards the boss when he lunged so I was behind him and just get a little close and hit him once and back up. Barely touched me that time.

You can get upwards of 10 vials by killing the two fatties by the elevator and the two enemies to the right of Father G's boss room. They each generally drop two vials, plus you'll get two more from the fatty after the bridge and whatever else you get from the regular enemies on the way. Kill the wheelchair enemy in the dark house for four bullets.

Have you unlocked the shortcut?
The guy in the wheelchair gives you like 4 bullets every time and killing those 2 hunchbacks tends to give you 2-4 potions each time. You could basically just farm that section over and over.

I just beat Father G btw after being stuck there for like 3 hours, if you have the musicbox don't use that until he transforms, because else he'll transform sooner and that Werewolf form is no joke, for his human phase try to master the visceral attack (shoot one of his actions to interrupt and then R1), the beast I just soaked in oil and then used a molotov.

Strat for You if your going to farm blood and are still stuck.
Oil Urn + Molotov's. It seems cheap but it's highly effective against him. Just make sure your vials are topped up and just run around, wear him down with his multi-strikes and when he's drained then hit him with one oil urn, repeat and hit him with a molotov. Rinse and repeat. It's time consuming but he goes down after about a few minutes.
Thanks guys. I think I'll give it a break for now. Tomorrow he'll be mine. Time for some Mario Galaxy,

Just downed
Vicar Amelia
and shit, hardest boss in the game so far. Could not get a parry on her to save my life. Do have some question about my build if someone wants to look...

I got enough souls for 5 levels, where should I put them? Should I spring for
Ludwig's Holy Blade
? It looks real good....

Thanks all

How do I get to
Darkbeast Paarl
I just beat the
witch
You gotta get kidnapped by the enemy with a bag. Not far from where you spawn, there will be a jailish looking room, and 2 more guys with bags will be in there. There's a hole in the wall that leads to Paarl in the back of the room.

Mine’s at 248 in the stats screen (but doesn’t seem to hit for that, unfortunately). +5. What are your stats?

edit: And yes I love the stunlocks so much.

Yes the weapon stun locks mobs. My stats at 25 vit 20 end 25 strg 20 skill and low on the others. I also have about 20% more dmg from
blood gems
. When I two hand it I hit for 200 or more dmg and mobs cannot attack back. I can kill
pigs
in 4 hits now lol. I believe my weapon is at +6. I cant find any
blood chunks
. I just beat the
moon lake spider.
20 hours in. This game is so good. Going to platinum it.

man this game is just too much :(
WHERE THE HELL IS MY CHECKPOINT ?????????

Edit: lool top new page... take it easy lads.. am just a nobi :(

Good luck to you, man.

What's entertaining me the most in this thread is all the new players that are being exposed to the brutality of the Souls games for the first time. :-)

VIT and END. Only level the other stats to meet weapon requirements for stuff you like, for now

Anyone else going low-VIT their first playthrough? I started as Professional which has a VIT of 9 and don't intend to touch it, and see how far that takes me.

My health bar in co-op is laughably minuscule. :P

Quickly jumping in this thread to say that this game is everything I hoped for, and then some.

I've only put in 4 hours so far, but my god is it ever good. The art direction, visuals and combat are mind blowingly good. The world is stunningly build and every enemy instills pure fear. Tower of Latria has nothing on this game. I do get that the gear/builds seem limited as far as completely differing replays are concerned. But even still, this just seems like the best damn Souls game ever made.

I do find the load times and the framerate/frame pacing to be slight blemish, but let's be real. When your game is this good, those issues hardly even register.

Can someone do me a favor and take a screenshot of A
rianna
? My late friend was named that, and I've never seen a character share her name before, so I'm curious what she looks like.

I've never played a Souls game before. I just found the shortcut before the first boss fight, thinking about just ignoring the two werewolves and going straight for the boss. I've died a total of four times up til this point (played about an hour and a half). Is that good?

I think the location For
bidden Forest is one of the only areas I haven't been a huge fan of so far.

What do others think of the area?

not a huge fan tbh

probably because I haven't found all of the shortcuts tho, lol, kinda a hassle to traverse atm

lots of secrets there

Found it thanks and holy fuck.

When streaming is there a way to get rid of the bar on the right? That was the one annoying thing I didn't like about the Xbox, but they fixed it where you could unsnap it and keep streaming.

Whomever I summoned into my world in order to defeat that boss, thank-you.
I like to think it was a fellow Gaffer. Speaking of, I need to add some of you, I have all of 10 active friends on PSN. It's lonely.

Yharnam is one of the most fascinating and intricate game locals I've had the pleasure of experiencing. The level design is...next-level, even compared to previous Souls games, and should be one of the high watermarks of the industry. It has the inticracy and density of Demon's Souls with the thoughtful and surprising interconnected world of Dark Souls (opening the shortcut to the Central Yharnam lantern and activating the elevator to Gascoigne are so fucking sublime). Combat is fast, furious, precise, and stressful. Parrying into a visceral attack is simply one of the most sadistically satisfying actions I've ever performed in a video game. Atmosphere is so thick that the sharpest of knives can't cut it, and the sound design is equally as sublime. The weapons are so incredibly badass I still can't believe it. This fucking game right here.

Fuck man...you make the wait even more harder since I'm getting my Bloodborne PS4 bundle next week.

All dat hype. :O

Father G was easy compared to CB, killed the former on my 1st try.

CB? All. Fucking. Day lol

Lol I had the opposite, though to be fair I think the CB didn't give me its 100% effort. Must have saw I had the Threaded Cane + Blunderbuss and decided to pity me.

I'll have the first enemy first attempt kill, first attempt CB kill, and the FG fight videos up soon. Pardon the random cursing in the GB video, which I didn't think would be in there since my mic was muted : /

Beat the cleric beast on my second go. Felt very satisfying. This game man...
so good!

Second try, nice. It took me a little while to take that thing down.
I was trying too hard to get off charged-up attacks and would try to stay behind him. Which usually resulted in me getting pinned in a corner and squashed. As soon as I started going for combos and stayed out in front, dodging, I saw amazing improvement and it only took me a few tries after that.
