I found an old lady
in Yharnam by a bunch of dogs in cages, she's here now. Same lady or a different, if different where?

Different lady.
After you beat the Blood-starved Beast, a really tough monster with a bag will spawn outside of the church that leads down to the Old Yarnham Lamp. If you let it kill you, you'll be taken to a creepy prison in an area called Yar'Ghoul. Explore till you find a praying woman in a corner and talk to her with the Black Church Set on.

Ludwig's Holy Blade if you want a greatsword. Its a quality weapon.

Oh shit that's the name of it? When I read you guys talk about it it sounded like one of them fancy skill weapons. Anything else up my alley?

Ok. Thanks. Haven't beaten BSB yet.

I'm at the point where I think I either have to fight
Blood-Starved Beast
or
Vicar Amelia
. I tried fighting
Vicar Ameila
a few times but my ass just gets kicked. Maybe it's time I actually call in for help with that fight despite solo'ing the others so far.

Definitely do some co-op. On top of being very fun (best part about these games IMO) it makes
Vicar Amelia
a million times easier.
You can stunlock her to death with two people

Strange thing is i've never seen lag in any From Software game online...You have it set to worldwide?

No, it's set to local. I've seen multiple other people complain about it here as well. It wasn't awful like it'd freeze up. The boss would just fly across the map suddenly or just generally act strange. Of the three times I just did it, it was fine one time, a little wonky one time, and terrible one time. It kind of felt like it was actually making the fights even easier than they already are in co-op.

That’s the thing you want. It’s a longsword that transforms into a greatsword when you press L1. It’s incredible, and it’s my main weapon. Wrote to you about it on the bottom of the last page of this thread. It gets a B rating in strength and skill when leveled up, the B in strength comes first, so level that strength up.

From what I can tell, it's unlocked by
telling the lady you find in Yar'Ghoul to go to the church. It's the door that's locked there, across from the old lady.

I haven't done that and the door with the elevator was unlocked after I killed
Blood Staved Beast. It was also only the third boss that I killed when I noticed that door was unlocked.

Huh weird. Anyone else's bloodstain disappear at the
witches
fight? I died by a minion cuz I was careless and redid the fight but I can't find my stain. I even cleared out the valley/meadow before hand. Oh well made back what I lost at least

Loving this game, I can beat everything in the first area but I hit a difficulty spike at the werewolves on the bridge, and in that massive underground warehouse kind of area past the caged dogs and the guy with the lance is a beast. I'm guessing the first boss is somewhere on the other side of one of these areas?

Well, I just reached Old Yharnam and climbed the tower to take out gatling gunner. He shot me off D: Any tips?

I beat him legit (none of that knocking him off stuff, although I did try it and failed). What worked for me was dodging a lot, occasionally firing. Good thing is interrupting his attacks are easy (R1 with regular axe interrupts everytime for me). One thing you'll notice is that he uses charge attacks quite often, and that is the opportunity to dash to the side and punish. Molotovs are also thrown very often by the boss, which is a great opportunity to heal after a quick dodge. When I defeated him I believe I did like 7 visceral attacks total (would have required less had he not healed to full health half way through).

For reference, I was level 26 at the time. GL.

I swear bloodstains move around. I had one during a boss fight that was super hard to find. I was convinced it was gone, and then after I beat the boss I stumbled on it half inside a pillar. They're easier to find when a monster picks them up.

fuck I'm having a lot of trouble consistently getting to and beating the first boss . those two bastard bad guys right before keep mauling me. Plus I keep burning my blood vials, bullets and Molotovs on them so it's just getting more hopeless each time. So I get to the boss 1 out of every 5 tries, get the boss to about half its life then get killed. rinse repeat

The last boss of the chalice dungeon I'm in is a pain in the ass.

I've already completed the first chalice dungeon I generated but do you get anything from them besides more
holy chalice ritual materials?

Just encountered him, and holy crap did he put the beatdown on me. I'm about SL 24 or so. I managed to get on the ladder and climb back down before he finished making me his significant other.

You mean the wolves? There's a shortcut around them that will eventually lead you to a lantern that is a more direct approach to the first boss.

Yeah I've noticed this too. I also find them a lot harder to visually see compared to bloodstains. Kinda weird.

I was wondering for so long what people were referring to with the Heavenly Church Workshop. I even passed by that same woman in that area forever ago not knowing what the point of her was. Thanks.

Now im excited. When do I get this? :p

There's no law telling you HAVE to beat every enemy you come across. You can ignore them and just sprint passed them and head straight for the boss. ( pro-tip for every Souls game )

Need help with the thirdish boss that
is poisonous and runs on hands and legs and is super quick

Any takers? I have my bell going outside the door. CelticKennedy on PSN.
i'm outside there now, do you have the gaf password on.?

Little warning though, i'm quite shit.

It's the area in the "safe place" directly opposite of the grumpy lady who you direct to that safe place..

Weapons, armor, unique bosses, and an achievement and key item for beating the hardest pthumerian one

Grrrrrrrr. . You know what I'm about 3-4 hours in and after dying about 30 times I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Been playing for awhile now maybe an hour without dying, and it figures I roll through something and get glitched into a damn wall. Not even sure what to do now. This makes me wanna never play it again lol. Not sure what to do, is there anyway of getting back to a start point with all my stuff? Or do I need to just reset the game?

You might be right. It's entirely possible I just didn't notice until I was looking around the church to see where the lady went (I still don't know where she ended up).

I'm so lost I can't even find my way back to the damn cathedral boss. Augh. I don't know how that happened I was moving along very easily then just got all f'ed up

Feel like I'm going the wrong way, or at least skipped an entire area or two.

I just killed
Shadow of Yarnham. I have a ton of runes that I can't equip because evidently I need to find some sort of witch area. No idea where that is. I also stumbled into a scary as balls area or two that seems like endgame: Nightmare Frontier and the Lecture Hall. I quickly high-tailed it out of there.

Oh man i just had such a awesome PvP match in the forbidden woods .
Invade someone but it seem they were playing co op so it became 2 of them vs me .
Was trying to kill one of them but could not do it .
So being near dead and low of vials i rush to part with the canon enemy and took down one of them with me with the enemy canon blast lol .

I think there's an item you start with that will kill you and reset you at the lantern(hunter's mark or something?). Sucks though, I'm pretty sure you'll drop the souls but hopefully they'll be nearby that spot.

Ah man, the more I think about it, the more it's frustrating.
Was the little girl's red brooch important or useful...?

(Please, tell me it was not that important D: )
