Fucking fantastic game. I'm so glad that despite obviously being a 'Souls game, it doesn't feel like just an aesthetic + gimmicks change to the last three. Enough of the design has been overhauled that nuances in encounters and equipment management are very different. I love that I can draw upon my knowledge and experience while at the same time am challenged to learn and adapt to what feels like a very fresh iteration.

Loving it.

I finsihed father G and am up to old yarhnam. I'm still not sure, me personally, if I would have preferred another proper souls game. I like this, but just not grabbing me as much as souls, which is strange. I really enjoy this and am having a good time, maybe it's the world, not sure. I definitely love getting new armor and weapons to try, which souls has more of, so maybe that's it. I'll probably love the hell out of it when all's said and done, but right now still not 100%

Oh man, got a gem that adds poison effect +1.6 (plus phys atk increase)

Interested to see if this will be worthwhile or useless like the poison paths in Souls games, oh well the gems are removable!

So I read something interesting about Insight...
Apparently having 20 or more insight makes the game harder and gives enemies new attacks/powers?

Does anyone know if Insight has any other effects, like quest related or opening up new things?

Don't know if it has anything to do with insight, and how many you may need for that.
But some of the regular mobs have new attacks now.

Holy crap, ok so I just beat
Rom the Vacuous Spider
and was exploring Yarnham again. When I knocked on the window of
the little girl who gives you the music box, her sister answered, asking if I had seen her sister
. I was pretty sure I had screwed up this sidequest because I
talked to the girl after I beat Gascoigne but before I found the amulet, so had nothing to give her, but told her to go to the Oedon Chapel. She never showed up.

I can't wait to play through again and see how else I can screw up these NPC storylines.

Little girl spoiler:
Go back to the sewers and uh kill the pig.

I've slept a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes in the past 52h. I have two more days to go without 'much' sleep till I'm satisfied.

I'm fine :p it's kinda interesting to see how the body reacts! The current issues with my body right now:

- irritating coughs every 10-15 minutes. Stops after approx. 5-6 consecutive coughs

- the white socks on the eyes are filled with red veins

- the bottom of my head (under the hair) is scratchy

- my arms, legs and stomach is considerably more sensitive. Touches that would normally be pleasent to the skin is now uncomfortable

- nose is dripping

I'm expecting the above symptoms to multiply within the next two days. I'm also expecting headaches and slight nausea. My eyes should get better in the next 12-24h though.
Go to sleep lol

Please don't die Yoshi.

Just got to
Blood Thirsty Beast
and it's the only boss that's killed me more than twice so far. Having a real hard time with it though. It always gets me with the
poison
in it's second phase.
Any tips? I'd use the fire stuff that makes your weapon turn on fire, but I only have 2 left, is there anywhere you can grind them?
Make sure you wear armour with high poison resistance for one thing. Also just always try to stay really close to him and dodge diagonally forwards when he swings. If you do get hit once then the poison resistance armour will buy you more time.

Realized last night (so far???) there's no more weight to deal with, no encumbrance, no worrying about whether you can wear armor and still roll... a lot has been clearly refined so you can better focus on combat. I didn't even realize magic and bows were gone until last night. There's clearly a focus on attacking, maneuvering and fast countering. Different experience than I was expecting but yes, iterative but still very fresh and a lot of fun.

Would sleeping for 6 hours or so be such a bad thing? You'll feel considerably better for it. Doing what you're doing seems extremely unhealthy.
ir wont work. Can't fit it in my schedule. College takds too much time

If you're asleep you won't even know you're not playing Bloodborne. You won't notice the passage of time and you'll feel better. I don't get it, what's the downside?

Omg... I didn't know there was a backyard. lol

Embarrassed.

You're not the only one. Hunter's dream is small but it's easy to overlook stuff there.
There's a second vendor too. Did you know? I didn't. Over ten hours of game time and i accidentally found it. Mindblown.

I tried that twice and got stunned by his gun. Thankfully that enemy type doesn't seem willing or capable of doing ripostes.

You might have to fight fire with fire on this one

You do get a nice stock of poison throwing knifes in the area. You kind of have to change up tactics when they throw snipers at you in this game

You're doing damage to your body. Knock it off and get to sleep. People die doing what you're doing. Even if you don't die now, you're potentially shortening your life. Go to sleep. The game will be there when you get back.

Hahah, I guess not everyone is familiar with Yoshichan back in the D3:RoS release era. It seems he gets a lot of enjoyment out of binge marathons and pushing himself to the limit. From what I observed, he goes back to normal or just stops playing all together after a binge honeymoon so it really isn't going to cause long term health effects doing this every so often.

Never have I seen someone who had to buy multiple keyboards and mice to prepare for a gaming session. Hardcore man. Rest of people can relax until you want to post your entire diet and habits on the forum too. I am sure there would be plenty of things people here would be happy to pick apart. Personally, I can't fathom playing a game like BB on so little sleep. I don't do well on anything less than 6 a night, minimum. Damn migraines.

I managed to beat the vicar earlier on my own on my 6th or 7th try, it was incredible. So far i think it's the best game in the "series".

I'm don't where to go now though...

God damn, this could is true.

Cathedral:
The enemies with the sticks and lamps suddenly got buffs on their weapons, the ones with the lamps got a new move they never used before where they shoot purple orbs from the lamp
. I don't know what triggered it but maybe it's my insight...

Make sure you have antidote. I found the fight was a lot easer once I didn't lock-on. Basically, run up to the boss and do a regular roll before he attacks, you should land right at his ass. Turn around and punish him with a 2-hit combo. I used the 2h axe (for more damage) and L2, R1. Roll away, walk up to him, roll, repeat. You'll get him down fairly quickly. When his HP is low the poison starts to hurt a lot, so if you get hit you NEED to find a couple seconds of safety and make popping an antidote your top priority. Basically, stay in the middle of the map and roll to his left after you run up to him, land at his ass and punish! You just have to keep a level head and stay calm, and make sure you roll at the right time.

I found this fight was a lot easier once I quit locking onto the boss and learned how to get up in his face and dodge his attacks with regular rolls. Regular rolls allow you to get behind the boss quicker than multiple dashes do. Don't be afraid to get all up in his shit. His main attack is super easy to punish with a two hit combo.

I found the forward dash when locked on always got me right behind him but only if I dashed to the same side of the beast as was swinging (i.e. under the main swinging arm)

I've been pleasantly surprised by the use of the weapon form switching for higher damage dealing. I'd picked the saw cleaver, and thought I'd made a terrible mistake because it was either lacking in range or speed depending on the form. The first boss ended up benefiting from attack transitioning from closed -> open, whereas with the second boss benefited from keeping it open -> closed. I know it's really, really basic stuff, but the flexibility is fantastic, along with the increased damage output. I'm looking forward to seeing the possibilities with the other weapons.

I'm still not over the screaming ground crows. Why do they exist. Why do they scream. I feel like I'm having terrifying Earthbound/Spiteful Crow flashbacks.

I also met Babe. Babe was also screaming. I haven't cheesed any of the bosses, but I did cheese Babe through a wall. I'm ashamed, and yet not.

lol I had that idea. Problem is I'd already burned through most of my knives just getting there, and he dodged the rest.

I don't think he'll be a big deal if I go in with different weapons. I just can't try again until friday night.

I love this game. The online part adds so much to the experience. Last night I was making my way through Old Yarnham and encounter a room with half a dozen notes outside, all with some variant of "Beware of ambush" and "Behind you," and I look inside and there are tombstones all over the place. Gee, maybe I shouldn't just go blindly running into that one lol. I seriously don't think I would have made it through that area through the first couple of shortcuts without all the warnings.

yoshi, please sleep, your streams are awesome, but sleep is too important. Shit you'll probably play better if you do.

Good to know, I haven't done forward dash much, maybe I need to give it another shot. The lockon camera has been annoying me recently, discourages me from using it :)

Those crows have scared the SHIT out of me several times.

But yeah weapon transform combos can do some serious damage. Hunter axe in particular has an R1-L1-R1 that is really fast and powerful with huge range.
