ARROW Season 3 |OT| Welcome to the New Age

Good episode compared to the ones before. Ray has become my favorite character on the show right now.

I also didn't think the cgi was all that bad. If Arrow is going through any budget issues, it's the filming locations. Aside from flashbacks and the occasional trip outside of Starling, pretty much every scene takes place at night, usually at either the Arrow lair, Palmer tech and insert random warehouse/shipyard.

Granted, Team Arrow are vigilantes so of course they would do most of their work at night but still, I definitely feel the show could use some variety, as far as scenery goes.

Overall good episode and I hope it keeps the momentum.

Yeah, had a feeling the flashbacks meant Deadshot was a dead man and wouldn't be surprise me one bit if the movie is the reason because that's some typical WB Films bullshit. Hopefully he wasn't actually killed off though. I only half paid attention to the episode but oh god... That if I paid just a little less I would be under the impression that the only reason Oliver and Ray were "fighting" was over Felicity.

Oh and yes, DAYAM Laurel in that dress.

It was really weird, usually Wallers got a tight leash on Suicide Squad and keeps her finger on the trigger, but she was absent from this episode and I don't recall a reason being given (in story). Maybe it was a volunteer mission for Deadshot (since he completed the last one as did Bronze Tiger, who was missing) who was doing it for money and they didn't consider Cupid a flight risk. Perhaps he's been on the squad long enough that she took the chip out, but that seems very unlike CW Waller (though in the comics they took the wristband off veteran members).

Waller had one scene in the episode back at the HQ.

Welcome to the new age, everybody. The only way to fight the league is with a league of our own. Ten bucks says the new series is called the Justice League. Long live ArrowFlashAtom.

That just made me wonder of Geena Davis was available... They'll need an Adeline Kane next season though not sure about her still being Slade's wife. Assuming they use that character at all.

Well we know that the budget for Arrow was slashed between season 1 and 2... Amell has gone on record of saying that before.

And, if I'm not mistaken, it's a common practice for this to happen. Just hate that it's noticeable, despite the fact I still really enjoy the show. :-/

Worth noting that CW has done this for Smallville in the past as well as Supernatural and it only seems to get worse the longer a show goes on.

Compare season 1 Supernatural to current Supernatural or first season Smallville to any season after four, the effects, the on location shots, the sets, the lack of budget really starts to show...

Haven't really known what to say about this season so far, still enjoying the show but I did have to sit back and absorb the general dip in quality after marathoning S1 and S2. This episode was pretty good, though. A densely packed episode.

Goddamn at the dress Laurel was wearing at the wedding.

GODDAMN.

Good episode, really liked the background we got on Deadshot. Really hope he's not dead...

Just me or has the fight choreography gotten worse? It was pretty terrible during the three GA fight.

And the less said about the CG this episode, the better. Honestly, it really makes me worry about what's going to happen the Flash as we go forward...will it still have the same budget for effects into its second season and beyond?

Heh, Roy with that truth bomb about the suit.

And of course Ray goes to Laurel. Of course.

What in the absolute fuck. Why did the random goon just walk up to Diggle with the gun instead of shooting him? Come on.

Oh man, Cupid is amazing. Why couldn't we get a Suicide Squad spin off instead of that other show...

LOL at how easily the power suit was disabled. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Ollie really just abandoned Roy after he received what could have easily been a killing blast of electricity? What the fuck, guy. He's your goddamn partner and you just leave him there...and we don't even know if he's okay as we don't see him afterwards...

That teasing shot at the end. Won't lead anywhere though...

The fandom's response (outside of this thread) to Ray has been so hostile.

A lot of them are so invested in Olicity that anything that comes in between them gets immediately shit upon. It honestly makes me lean towards abandoning the show.

Also: At this point Oliver just comes across as an overly serious douchebag (even Barry Allen agrees - sort of - he said it of his Arrow persona) and I just can't find myself rooting for him. Just give me some of the Green Arrow personality we know his comic book counterpart has and I'll find this version to be more tolerable.

I don't mind him, but he came across as a complete idiot this episode. He builds this incredibly advanced suit and still somehow manages to leave the power source fully exposed.

Idiot.

Deadshot died so we can get Deadshot 2.0 starring Gannicus

I'd totally be okay with this.

Holy shit at the dc wiki article on a storyline from the Green Arrow comic:

When Ollie was injured and being cared for by Shado, she proceeded to rape him while he was unconscious, conceiving a son she would name Robert.

Son of Batman vibes.

That was just his first go at it. Just look at how much Oliver flailed around when he first started.

Ray is intelligent enough to quickly learn from his mistakes (especially technical ones), and given that he doesn't need to learn how to master any kind of martial arts (or spend time annihilating his moral compass to the point where he can easily murder others) I'd wager his learning process will be substantially quicker than Oliver's.

Idiot.

That's the funniest part. Guy spent time and resources designing the look, bloating it with features, yet reinforcing the part that powers it never occurred to him. It's the iPhone 4 antenna problem on larger scale. Ollie taking him down with ancient weaponry sells it.

Imma go ahead and assume Deadshot died for Will Smith's sins.

I like Brandon Routh, but I'm not big on Ray. He felt disposable until this episode and now his thing with Felicity feels like it's plot filler until he moves on to his own show. The Atom doesn't have great motivation, so I can't even get behind the superhero-y stuff.

They need a game changing finale. They're claiming they've got one, we'll see.

A simple fix for that is to completely ignore the fanbase outside of this thread, it's served me well for certain shows.(Supernatural)

I had no idea peope were hostile to Ray before you just told me.

Yeah, I avoid the Doctor Who message boards and threads for that specific reason.

The community is toxic and ruins my enjoyment of the show.

Was it me, or did Ray have pink eye the whole episode?

It was a fun episode. Ollie's delivery of "When were you going to tell me?!?!" to Felicity after she came clean was hilarious!

Look how smooth these episodes feel when they give thea or malcolm no screentime

Maseo....you know what to do. Looking forward to Laurel coming out of training a real force to be reckoned with finally

That was such unexpected moment. :D :D He got blasted to hell, and Arrow just turned and walked away. :D
