Really struggling to find my way in this game. The combat I am used to but I'll be fucked if I can figure out where to go. I'm at the moment hunting around Cathedral Ward. I killed the first 2 bosses and the BSB no worries.

Now I am stumped. I have found a round lift that eventually leads to a locked door. I've also found some seriously tall enemies in a different section including one with a massive ball and chain who batters me. Any tips where to go chaps?

Yay EU got the cool cover for the steelbook.

Btw can you download the soundtrack to a ps3? :P

Find the right path. I was able to do it the first try. And it is worth it, trust me.

Well, gosh. I tried at least 6 times last night. The load times don't lend well to this sort of thing so I moved on to exploring other areas.

i can see there is a tiny plank above the door, and that is below a couple larger platforms that seem hard to get to. Does the solution involve run+jumping or is it all just careful drop downs?

You know, I realize that I should feel guilt about summoning for some of the Bosses, but It don't. The feeling of accomplishment is somewhat diminished, only somewhat. But I just love the sense of camaraderie that ensues during an epic battle. I don't know these people, they don't know me, but all of a sudden they're bowing, I'm rolling around furiously because It can't remember how to bow, and it just feels...right.

Love this game and all things Souls.

I try to keep just a little bit over 10, and I'm level 50.

I'm worried I'm going to hit level 100+ in the middle of the game and won't be able to co-op with a lot of people.

You can spend it at the shop, or let enemies take it from you. Its really not a big issue.

I have 51ish around Rom and I am doing fine, I just chalked the difficulty up to game progression.

Don't fall and die lads, don't fall and die.

Just lost 310k souls because the bloodstain isn't showing.

This glitch has never happened in the 1500h+ I've played Demon's. Why did it happen within 60h in BB?

Ouch.
I've had it happen already myself, looked everywhere and anywhere, it was just gone.
I've also had it move to weird spots several times and had to search to find it. Hope they fix that.

you will have to do a run and jump from a tiny platform on the right side. Run in a circle to get to max run speed first.

Go to the Cathedral Ward lamp, take the door on the right, ride up the elevator (requires having killed the blood starved beast in old Yarnham) take the left over the bridge and start going up the tower. You will find a badge in a chest near the top and then you can buy it from the vendor in Hunter's Dream for 20k blood echoes.

LE BOOM!

thanks!

About 12 hours in and it feels like I'm taking my sweet ass time lol. I'm level 25 and I've only beaten two bosses. Leveled up my ax and I have two tempering blood stones attached to it. I'm one shot killing a ton of enemies. Just got to old yharnam. One thing I'm barely using is my pistol, I can't get the dang timing down to parry certain enemies. Should I use blood stones to upgrade my pistol or save them for something else?

Happened to me twice already, although both times I had exited the game before retrieving so not sure if that's why.

Late game question.
Can you still fight Amygdalla if you never went to the Nightmare Frontier before defeating Rom?

Because an enemy picked it up?
No. I fell, died. I've killed everything around those parts.

Terrible. Kinda Lords of the Fallen'ish :)

Its fucked. I've had the same thing happen. I've even had enemies with my blood nowhere near my location of death. Its frustrating.

Take the path right in the Cathedral Ward. Get on the lift and go across the bridge and immediately hang a right. Go around and drop off. Then carefully make your way down.

Sometimes an enemy in the area will take the echoes after you die. The enemy will have glowing blue eyes and once you kill them you'll get the echoes back.

This game is actually harder than other Souls games I'd argue, I played and finished DeS, and DaS1 several times and I'm getting my ass handed to me in this game, I wasn't even a turtle in those games.

Combat is genius though, incredibly good but punishing as well.

So this sucks. I died yesterday, lost just over 5000 echoes.
Got impatient, died to the troll on the bridge who bowls over the group of guys with the flaming ball. It was dumb.

Anyway, I saved and shutdown. Came back to the spot where I died this morning. No echoes. The same enemies came at me, figured one of them picked up my echoes. They died again, but not to me.
To the troll.
No echoes. So then I killed the troll. No echoes.

Question is, can you not regain your echoes if you shutdown? Or did I lose mine potentially because an enemy picked them up and was then killed not by me but by another enemy?

Ending the play session wipes out the echoes as far as I can tell. Also.. 5k? lol I lost over 50k last night. Gots to move on my man. :p

Because an enemy picked it up?

Maybe but i also had this situation yesterday that i returned to the place where i died. Echos were missing at the exact spot i went down so i killed all enemies in that area but none had my echos (only 10k so no biggie). Could be a glitch that the echos don't really stick to an enemy and get lost sometimes.
Edit: seeing that more and more ppl had this, i guess this really is a glitch. Hope it gets adressed in the next patch. Not finding a 400k echoes bloodstain again would seriously make me toss some magazine racks around.

I think it's kind of funny how it's faster and easier to farm echoes than vials

Yep it's better just to buy a bunch honestly. Also, with the regain system, certain gem's and runes, you won't even need to rely on vials very much other than for boss fights. I kinda wonder if that was the point and that relying heavily on vials is not actually the point.

So there is a
door
in the Healing Church Workshop that I want to get to. However
i can't figure out how to fall to it without dying.

So, is this A) just a matter of coming back later when I've found the Bloodborne equivalent of the
Cat Ring? (Make falling do less damage)
or B) I am just not clever enough to find the right path?

(Please don't tell me exactly how to get there. A or B is enough for my curiosity, thanks.)

You're not finding the right path. I got to that door early and had low vitality and still survived the fall. Just make sure to always use potions before the next fall.

Is it required to do Chalice Dungeons? I'm not sure where to go after BSB aside from that, but I'd rather save those for later and continue with the main path.

Okay will do. I did try that route once but died on the way down and figured it might not be possible to make it all the way down

I had that same glitch happen yesterday. I went through the area with a fine-tooth comb and it was nowhere to be found, especially not near around where I fell. There are a lot of small things like that they really need to address in a patch, because it adds up.

This game is a legit candidate for best combat of all time

you can make the argument

Is this what everyone meant by next gen gameplay? lmao

Anyone actually upgrading blood tinge? Due to scarcity of bullets I tend to ignore the stat and when I look at the preview stat increase from upgrading it, I see nothing worthwhile.
