Father G still fucking me up. I had two idiots waste my beckoning bell last night. One died on the way to boss fight by running towards the bridge mob with the flaming boulder. Other died as soon as the boss fight began. TERRIBLE.

This game is actually harder than other Souls games I'd argue, I played and finished DeS, and DaS1 several times and I'm getting my ass handed to me in this game, I wasn't even a turtle in those games.

Combat is genius though, incredibly good but punishing as well.
Agreed, it's the hardest one IMO

How do I get the item that is just infront of the lamp in Upper Cathedral Ward?

Where did you summon them from? I try to summon by the fog gate but never finds anyone.

I was just driving around and went in Best Buy. I'm now home with a ps4 and Bloodborne...

Welcome to the club. :)

What's better to level up, strength or skill?

Depends on the weapon you want to use/upgrade. See the letters at the weapon stats. A is best and E (or nothing) is worst. If the weapon has higher letter at skill (the hand), it scales better when you upgrade skill.

on the way to Amelia? if so I need to know too, its driving me crazy
Oh, no. The one you're talking about is something you'll get much, much later.

If you're talking about the one by the ladder and the shortcut, then you'll need to head to the
Healing Church Workshop (by taking a right at the Cathedral Ward lamp) and then find a way to drop down once you cross the bridge
.

Is there a 'quality' build in Bloodborne? I usually want to spread out my options to experiment what I would like but I'm afraid of building my stats wrong.

Now that I have STR at 20-something, the game is showing me a bigger damage bonus on my holy blade if I level up skill instead. Should I give skill some points or just continue with STR?

After engaging in fight with VA you need to go to the place you fought father G. , she will be there. Help her or let her die to get early access to her gear and weapons, but you will lock yourself out from the oath hunter rune. If you help her the next encounter will happen in the place where you fought VA but it only occurs after engaging (defeating?) Rom. I have posted a cheese method how to complete the last part of her quest line.

But that's my problem.
I defeated VA, went back to the Father G location and she wasn't there :(
And I DID talk her to her the first time you meet her but haven't seen her since

Hey guys I got a question. I just entered the forbidden forest by using the password. I was wondering at this point how far am i into the game?

Those creepy walking, robed guys with the sacks are good for farming twin blood shards, Fyi. Just dangerous :/

That appears to be true, btw. welcome to the club. :)

I met him while i was looking for the first boss, after horribly losing my way in that labyrinth named Yharnam ... still haven't found the first boss, maybe today!

I am legit surprised by the sudden appearance of that health bar because I expected to find the Cleric Beast (you guys ain't bothering to spoiler tag so I won't either, hahaha) first.

Holy shit Father Gascoigne is annoying. I think I am gonna level up a few times first before attempting to fight against him again................... maybe try tackling the Cleric Beast first....

Also I think I made a mistake of choosing the pistol for my sidearm instead of the shotgun...

........................................huh. Now why didn't I realize this sooner....

depends on the affinity of the weapon you are using

Depends on what weapon you are using. Hunter axe is a strength weapon, for example.
I'm using the saw cleaver, which I guess uses both strength and skill?

There is affinitys for both, though strength is d and skill is e.

So finally got to Father G. Badass fight so far, we're dodging and shooting each other, and I get him to 1/4 left. This mofo wants to transform into a beast, leap across the screen and one shots me. WHAT. THE. FRICK. This game mayne. *swoons*

Omg, I just soloed the savage beast. went back to Central Y to kill the elien crow to get the blade of MERCY. OMG This weapon is everything I ever wanted. I am so happy.

Looking for build assistance

My friend isn't on neogaf or reddit but he has been playing this game since last week. He has no clue what builds are but he want to recreate a character for a better build.

What level should he stop at? If he gets max stamina and max vitality what else could he level. I told him about the souls meta and he didn't understand it (I don't understand it that much) but apparently it is beneficial to stop leveling even if you have the souls/echoes (what is the reason for this?)

do we know if there is some unique gear in the chalice dungeons or will it all be just better gems?

also I heard there's a 30 level non-randomized dungeon..how do I enter it?

as I understand it the reason to stop leveling is because the community decided for level 125ish to be the PVP level, so you won't find anyone to fight if you level far beyond that.

Finally had a chance to start this properly today. Twice in a row now I've gotten the Cleric Beast down to basically one sliver of health before dieing. And with the last attempt, I even went into the battle with 0 Blood Vials. So I'm confident I can kick this guy's ass now.

Okay, how to I take out my molotovs in storage? I have 6 on me and 10 in stock, but it never refills.

You have to manually take them out. Go to your storage and press R2.

That sucks. The guy who helped me last night was excellent.

I just wish I could practice the battle by myself. I wasn't too far off beating him but when it not to the boss door at 10pm last night with a bunch of Echoes I thought, fuck it, I need help.

WAIT A MINUTE.

Are you supposed to fight
Cleric Beast
before
Father Gascoigne
? Because I stumbled upon the latter before meeting with the former and he fucked me up real good and when I turned to Youtube to see how others deal with him the guy whose video I watched say things that suggest he is actually the 2nd boss and not the 1st one.

Cleric Beast
is optional. But most people fight it before
Gascoigne

I'm wondering the same thing. It looks like Ludwig's Holy Blade scales more or less equally with strength, skill, and arcane. Does that mean I should be leveling these stats about the same if that's the weapon I want to stick with? Or just pick one and run with it?

Any tips for that
Cleric Demon
? I was surprised how little I was chipping away at him for a first boss even for a FromSoft game. Am I missing something?
