So I'm at the end of the game and wondering if I'm totally fucked
in getting the true ending. I've only gotten 2 pieces of the umbilical cord. Arianna is nowhere to be found and there is nobody on an operating table in Iosefka's Clinic
. Am I just shit out of luck?

Yeah the 2nd phase is tough because you can't counter him.

You basically just need to do a lot of hit and runs. Never attack first, wait for him to attack and as soon as he is done you dodge into an attack (or a dodge attack). It will home into his location. Hit him twice and back off. Repeat until dead.

Make sure you keep a good distance from him as well so that it's easier to react to him.

I swear my attacks aren't doing any damage in his final form. His
scythe
seems to deflect the first of any attack i try. Whats up with that. I even hear like a metallic bouncing sounding when I hit it. I'll try again but it's super frustrating because I got him down to like 15% health and couldn't get it any lower. I've got the parries down, but that final phase....

If anyone knows how to dodge the charge move, I'd really appreciate to know how, I have maybe a 10% success rate doing it.

Also, is there any way to parry any of the moves? I've tried repeatedly to get parry's of on various of the moves, but the only way to get a stun so far has been by just going ham on the head whenever possible, and even then it's completely random whether it works or not

thanks

Took a video of my battle with the 3rd boss. Took a few tries but I finally got it beat. :)

EDIT: I see people are having trouble with the cane? I have a +4 cane that I used for the fight. It's actually much easier than you think!

Thanks. That moment where you went to a sliver of health has been death for me. Right when poison starts I get destroyed like that trying to pop antidotes.

Didn't realize the poison wears off for a bit. Also it looks like the second poison activation thing didn't poison you as much as the first.... Because you were behind him more? Anyway, thanks guys. Motivated to try again :)

I still can't do it. Poison phase pretty much is the moment where I could see certain people just not ever able to complete. I just can't do enough damage with the cane and I have to stay alive too long while he is in pure rabid mode.

Plus the pain of losing all your vials and antidotes and knowing somewhere inside you have to farm

And then realizing the 40 second load...with more loading in the future if I want to actually farm.

Damn. Good game. But fuck not for hardly anyone but the gaming elite

I don't know how much of a tip this is but what finally allowed me to beat that fight was... don't try any gimmicks. Straight up, wait for an attack, dodge and hit it. If you're using the cane don't use whip mode, it's slow and you'll be hitting from very close, the DPS of the cane is much better. The nice thing about BSB (lol) is that when you get hit unless its something with a follow up you'll usually end up behind it so you can still get your hits in and get your health back.

Just stay calm and all 3 phases are basically the same game plan. The biggest opportunities you'll get are from the right arm sweep (no follow up) and when it stands, dodge left and you won't get hit by the rest of the combo.

2nd char on blood-starved beast. what a fucking LOL fight.

I stand next to him and all he does is the one telegraphed swipe, dodge to the left and land a few hits, rinse, repeat, collect chalice, what a joke.

Thankfully I can at least get ludwig's sword and start working toward +5 for the 3rd rune slot and an elemental rune for the arcane build I'm doing on this character.

Just started NG+...

Holy hell those enemies got a massive boost. The cleric beast has so much health it's crazy. Do all bosses have that much health? D:

Yeah I thought I was dead for sure but I got a lucky break. Tough battle, but it feels super rewarding having beaten it. :)

I think
the third one is in a chalice dungeon.
.

Also, just beat the
'final' boss if you don't have the third cord
. The backstep into R1 with the dual handed axe is the perfect counter to the bosses final form. You just wait for their attack, dodge once and then hit light attack. You're guaranteed to avoid all damage and get in a little stab of your own. Takes like 10 of these to finish him off but it's worth the patience. Especially considering how insanely parry heavy the first half of the fight is. Great boss.

Four tries against BSB, no luck. Had the parry down in two tries, then he ended up one-shotting me with his grab twice in a row.

Found a tip about
tossing Pungent Blood Cocktails, which he'll chase down, giving you a chance to backstab and visceral attack
...unfortunately, in my Souls-noob ways, I didn't realize I had to backstab him first and when straight for a visceral attack (his blood sniffing animation and being downed looked similar to me) and by then I was out of
blood cocktails
. Figure I'll grind a bit tomorrow, and buy some more.

Also, does
Father Gascoigne's gear have better poison resistance?
Where do I get this? I'm not seeing it in Hunter's Dream.

I started the dungeons. I was down about it, but the more I get into the Chalice Dungeons the more I see potential. I didn't get a couple things I needed before NG+, but the bosses are getting harder (the first couple are beyond easy). I tried one 3 times and I lost my 40k, but I got him. I figure after I get as far as I possibly can I'll just grind NG+ and get what I need.

There's a ton of loot, but you get better items then you get echo. Echo is mostly gained in later dungeons(?), but mostly outside dungeons. The later dungeons have some great drops. Lots of enemies in NG+ are ridiculous.

So about my message yesterday in which I told that I got killed by co-op summon without Bell maiden? I got to watching video of it through Share, and it definitely was a summon, not an invasion.

I uploaded it to YouTube, and someone commented saying it might be covenant thing. Is there seriously a covenant that allows invaders to use Small Resonating Bell to kill hosts while being summoned for help?

This is kinda fucked up.

I didn't even attempt to parry, and the charge was the biggest issue for me the first few attempts. I'd recommend NOT locking on since it seemed to make you sidestep right into the side of it, just watch for it and roll out of the way when needed.

To my understanding, when u use ur bell it opens u up to invasion.

LOL WHAT

Yes but doenst it at least tell you you've been invaded? Or at least color the person differently so you know? haha

Target head, shoot 3 times with gun.
I assume that's what he means anyway.

You do the visceral attack twice he suddenly stops targetting you and will blindly flail around. Either he was blinded or mine bugged out after I pulled 2 things outta his head

The last area is huge, and I'm still trying to figure out where the hell the boss is. I opened up the shortcut back to the windmill room, but I can't remember how to get there quickly from the lamp. >.>

I was actually just reading about Covenants on the wiki, and (Covenant names)
apparently people in the Vileblood and Executioner covenants will be hostile to each other even in co-op.

Welp, guess I am getting payback for thinking
Rom was easy. Outside of the main game, you fight him in a Chalice Dungeon, and it's a closed space.

That purple tinge the summoned player had is telling me that he was probably a type of invader.

Normal co-op summons are pretty much the same as you on screen.
