Oh wow, I never knew Insight altered enemy placement! I've been running around and using the "Madman's Knowledge" as soon as I get it. I'm sitting @ about 67 insight and noticed alot of my crows have been replace with those guys with bloody burlap sacks.

Holy shit. THAT explains why there was a burlap sack guy waiting outside the Cathedral Ward lamp! I probably had 15 or 16 Insight then after helping a few people with co-op. Huh. Wow, this game.

Whats wrong with them? Are they weak? :o

Incredibly weak. Piss poor range, weak damage, long cast times. The one that requires 40 arcane uses 10 bullets per use and does dick all and is super easy to interrupt.

Arcane items, are by far, the most horribly unbalanced part of the game and not in a powerful way. Do not bother with them.

Could someone please tell me about the Queenly Flesh?
I killed Annalise, Queen of the Vilebloods... she just lies there and I can still talk to her (she's quiet)... still no fucking drop.

What's going on??????????????

Darkbeast Paarl
is down, get fucked you
sparky
motherfucker

Pretty sure this is BS.

Harder enemies show up in areas they weren't before depending on the phases of the moon (i.e. your story progression)

I've had north of 50 insight my entire playthrough and those were the only times I noticed different enemy placements.

It's not, I've personally tested it. At 26 insight, those pale fedora giants had obviously different lanterns and used different attacks. Used all my insight, and they stopped using those attacks / lanterns looked completely different.

You are able to resurrect her using the queenly flesh don't know if you have encountered the thing that does it though yet

hmmm interesting, you can buy
Tonitrus
in the store after killing
Paarl
, even tho you find one :/

You can give that item to the Altar of Despair after you beat Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos. She'll be revived if you do.

Question about the secret path in
Healing Church Workshop. Is it possible to reach the bottom without dying?

Quoting myself here. Anyone know a video guide or such for that location?
I am horrible at platforming and would not mind seeing how it's done.

Tried looking for one but did not find any.

holy shit guys, I just had one of "those" moments.

You know what moment I'm talking about? When you're playing the game and really enjoying it, to the point where you suddenly get this thought: "Hmm, I'm really enjoying this as much as I did with Demon's Souls back in 2009".

oh my fucking god.

I am so glad you will not be drinking pee.

Welll... that's what I noticed first. Decided to test it.

I just spent my insight to bring it back under 10, and the sack assholes are still there in those spots.

So.... idk.

Don't worry those guys are great for farming Blood Shards and Twin Blood Shards and you'll net ~1300 echoes from them. I remember they used to be a pain in the ass for me and a challenge but now I just one shot them with my kirkhammer.

No, I meant
I WANT the Queenly Flesh. I thought I would get it by killing her??

Just light a torch and look down. At the point where it looks like there's nothing around, there's a platform you can barely make out. You can make the fall with full HP without dying.

Actually,
the burlap sack guy is there because you beat the blood-starved beast. If the burlap sack guy kills you, he takes you to a hidden area.

I found and lit a new lantern, left to upgrade my weapon, and now I don't see the new location available to travel back to..?

It's the lantern after you leave the
jail
. Am I not able to fast travel there?

No, I meant

Oh, I thought you could get it that way. I got it from
the church executioner NPC guy, that you give the unopened summons to, killing her and leaving her a smashed up mess on her throne.

Some endgame notes on insight:

It is the replacement to both Character/World Tendency, and Dark Souls 2 Hard Covenant. A bunch of things change, including enemy HP and item prices in town. It is more cut-off based, so earlier enemies need less insight to "trigger" to harder settings.

Have you played the other games? The fall distance here is so forgiving!

I learned that a funny way: fighting on a ledge, I got pushed off and yelped "no!" because if it was any Souls game the fall would kill me instantly and instead I survived and had to regain my composure such as to not die to what was lurking below.

Maybe it's just this one area I was in, but it feels like it was worse than in the other Souls game. Basically, I was trying to drop down in the wooden scaffolds area of the Healing Church Workshop and I slipped and fell what only seemed like a few feet to my death.

Or maybe I'm just used to the cat ring in DSII, I dunno haha.

Oh I see.
I have tried using those narrow beams to get lower and to perhaps see more.
Thanks. I will try again later, but now it's time for break.

Don't forget to take breaks GAF! Sitting will kill you. :)

This game is awesome. I love the sense of dread, and being scared as I try to explore. The game certainly doesn't hold your hand and I think it's great. Not sure how far into the game I'm in but just downed Amelia. And I still don't have a clue what I'm supposed to do in the world other than bring light back or something. Or survive the hunt. I wonder if the story becomes more clear as I progress.

Really tempted by this, never played any of the souls games, but hearing this is a tad more easier for newcomers appeals to me. I love exploring and watching the giantbomb quick look it looks of tons of paths to take .

Hopefully the loading screen patch comes soon as that may push me over the edge :)

That it is easier for new comers I think its debatable. Have been hearing people saying they're finding this hard as fuck, and can't beat the 1st boss. I think the more defensive gameplay of D. Souls makes it easier to learn and keep going... But, overall I'm indeed finding Bloodborne easier.

I spend excess insight on bolt or fire paper.

Speaking of which, is it worth leveling arcane to 15 to use the
empty phantasm shell
?

Can someone give me a hint where to go next?
I just killed Vicar Amelia. I've been to the unseen village and now I'm at the shrine thing by Vicar Amelia where a giant ghost killed me when I tried to open the door. I'm not sure where to go next. Am I in the right spot?

is it me or is there even less direction than the usual souls game? And I dont mean that in a good way. I notice a lot more "where do I go" posts, ive done some myself.

Hell, I just killed
Darkbeast Paarl
for example, the door leads back to
old yarnham
and...now what? There was no switch or anything, no indication that anything changed in the world.

I know Souls games are usually obtuse, and thats fine, but this one seems more so in a bad way. In my opinion of course.

Fuck!!! I just wasted 2 Insight trying to beckon other players and then getting disconnected from the network. :( I hate how that saves...

Anyone else getting network issues?

Did you go to the forbidden woods yet and Byrgenwerth?

Did you go to the forbidden woods yet and Byrgenwerth?

Nope could you just tell me a lantern I should spawn to and I can find the rest from there. It's not very clear where I should go

I would typically just try to find the next area alone because I'm not a fan of getting help, but I can't play that long today and I don't really want to waste time running around frustrated.

I like it. If I get stuck I just run around trying to see what I missed. And there always seems to be something I missed or some door open that leads somewhere new.

The abonded doll? If so it is just lying there.
You don't need to face the boss, you just need a single point of insight ( which facing the boss would give you).

Another way that doesn't involve losing your echoes is to consume a Madman's Knowledge item and then travel to the a Hunter's Dream.

Oh man....im really getting wrecked at the R
om, the Vacuous Spider
. I have died like 20 times and im nowhere near getting the hang of that boss fight.

Sadly co op in that area seems dead like a rock. Sadly though. I really hit a (motivational) wall.

So in the boss area for
Vicar Amelia
I noticed if you look up and to the right there is a corpse up there with an item on it. How do I get up there?

I don't see how is it any different?

What guidance is there in Dark Souls? "Ring the bells, find the vessel" and that's it, and Dark Souls 2 doesn't even give you a goal right off the bat. BB on the other hand will give you exact directions from time to time like "Go to X"
