I did explore that place. Going to the top led me to a locked door, and going to the bottom just leads to me falling to my death.

Ah, but you can reach the bottom without dying, and that leads to new locations.

It's tricky but there's this really, really thin strip of wood after you drop on the broken sloping bridge near the bottom, from there you have to jump onto a wooden platform and then further down.

Word of advice though, bring a healthy amount of Blood Vials.

I went to the
castle
, took the elevator shortcut, had to AFK, and when I came back I had 24,000 souls for some reason. I definitely had almost none since I had just gone back and leveled up. Weird.

I'm still not quite sure why they regressed from the excellent format of Dark Souls 1 and being able to do everything at the bonfires like leveling, upgrading, and refreshing the level. That decision always struck me as odd in DS2 and continues to strike me as odd here as well.

Found Tonitrus. Is this worth using?

Also, what's up with he Tomb Prospector set? It's terrible and expensive. There must be some upside?

Finally...Ludwig's Rifle. Still using the Blunderbuss. Stats don't seem any better, so I'm not sure if there's an upside.

where was the place that the
crow lady
said not to go because it was her mark again? I wanna go check that shit out before I progress

These three hunters in Y
ahar'gul
are bullshit

Any suggestions? I can't seem to summon any help to even the odds. A 3 v 1 fight with them
shooting lighting and fire
is just unfair.

This game has probably the best art direction I've ever seen in a game. I'm constantly gawking at the environments.

From Software artists are ridiculously talented. This game is on another level when it comes to presentation.

worst thing is, that you can't rest at the lamp posts!!

so if I want to change my respawn point, I have to warp back to the hunters dream and then to the specific lamp.

same if you want to reset enemies for farming vials etc.

I got SO many new runes in forbiden woods, its ridiculous. quick question:

are visceral attacks the ones with the special animation, or the charge moves? surely not the charges moves, or this rune that gives you 200hp after a visceral attack is OP

just your perception

LOL ok

warping to the hunter's dream always was pretty fast.

I see..I guess that's all there is to it.

Something like that happened to me as well. I think it's because of those mosqito-women in the lower area, they sometimes fall to their death. Happens in other areas with bottomless pits too, love that FROM trademark.

Yeah the worst thing about the awful load times is being forced to return to the dream to do anything. You cant level up, buy, reset the level, anything.

What were they thinking?

Yeah.

And the consistency, density and beauty across the entire game(18 hours so far) is truly mindblowing.

This how you do Open world.

the
forbidden woods
boss? I thought it was by far the easiest boss in the game. none of them
shot lightning
for me either, wtf? maybe you have a lot of insight? I had 18 when I killed them.

I killed the
one that was shooting fire first, avoided the fire with the other 2 chasing me, and got a couple of hits in, then ran around the room so the other 2 were chasing me stayed far, then back to the fire guy. when hes dead, I just charge R2 hammered the other 2 as they came for me :/

Im guessing thats not what you are refering to tho

Where you fought
Amelia
I think.

but thats a lantern spot now?

Thanks, I think you're right! Last time my character fell to his death, I remember there being one platform I missed on the way down but it was hard to see beforehand due to lighting. It looks like that is where I need to go next.

Yoshi did you change from your Kirkhammer build? What did you settle on? I'm in same predicament with not likeing the hammer against fast bosses/hunters.

Holy shit INSIGHT is what does that? Ohhhh man they weren't kidding when they said it's knowledge of the forbidden realities or whatever.... This game is so fucking cool.

Thats not all, you get to hear stuff aswell. Instead of the growling from some bosses you hear their voices talking etc. Super cool :P

Running around the stairs helps lol.

If you want to cheese them. Lead them down to your old
jail cell
, lock the door and hit away!

The trick in Bloodborne is to have a close enemy kill you back towards the lamp post, then the world refreshes and you can pick up your souls quickly and without fear of death and you only suffer through the 1 death load.

Okie doke! Bosses Rom, last hunter in crow lady's quest, Paarl, and The One Reborn taken out. The second one might as well have been the final boss. They're not going to top that; I'm still feeling the effects he had on my resources.

I'll save the rest of the game for tomorrow.

no, no. Way past that and not a boss fight. Its in the room where the
Gaol lamp was, 3 hunters ambush you

Thanks. Ill cheese all day, no regrets lol
I ran right past that part and never looked back.
I tried, ran into all the nightmare inducing shit outside and the hunters caught me from behind :(

So The upper cathedral boss,
the one past the window, that has to do something with the shit that went down right?
it might not be spelled out but it HAS to be a key component of the reason behind stuff happening!

Something like that happened to me as well. I think it's because of those mosqito-women in the lower area, they sometimes fall to their death. Happens in other areas with bottomless pits too, love that FROM trademark.

That must have been it, and it must have been one that picked up my blood echoes from a previous death since I never went and got them and didn't die again since then. Worked out in the end then, haha.

I defeatedher
Queen
today, you just have to progress to the final pthumerian chalice.

I have obtained
the Defiled Chalice, but as I understand, I have to complete it, and then complete the next one as well (god knows how long it is). In addition I need the materials for Defiled (Bastard of Loran). It kinda feels too much.

they change quite a bit over time. I found a few new enemies. Did you do all the chalices? Some are the same, but there are side doors to open. I think that's because the location is the same for the first three dungeons. Did you fight the guy with the scythe? He has a twin scythe? He killed me and I could get his health to half in two giant swings. He's just fast and he hits hard

I honestly can't even remember. I have defeated what feels like
a dozen bosses in different level chalice dungeons (central, lower etc). I understand that enemies get tougher due to high amount of insight in the main game, but does that apply to chalice dungeons too?

Hey guys am I just imagining it or is there a section in the forbidden woods that went underground into a lake or something with tall giant enemies? I thought It was at forbidden woods but I can't seem to find it after leaving the area and going back to Hunter's Dreams? Where is this place?
