Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

My brother just one shot Cleric Beast, with this master's guidance. He's beat Gargoyles in Dark Souls but that's it. I told him the shortcut (skipping p much everything), and then told him to go to the boss "Just to get some insight so you can level up." A minute later, it's like Rocky. I'm telling him to roll, sweep the legs, whack his face when he's down.

3 mins later and the son of a bitch does it. Level 1, no weapon upgrades, nothing. Kid's a natural.

Finished the game. The final fight was really fun.
The Moon boss right after was cool, but I'm not sure what the ending was about lol.
It took me 29 hours. Overall I liked the game, but there was some stuff I didn't like:

- Being able to regain health after being hit was really easy to abuse especially with some of the armored moves you can use with some weapons. There were a number of times where I pre-emptively charged up my R2 attack against a boss and swung as an attack hit me and just regained all my health that I would have lost. I didn't really have to worry about followups either since the attack would usually heavily stagger them. I could also just mash attack against some regular enemies and not care if I get hit too.

- Outside of the
Hunter type
enemies which are really fun to fight, a lot of the regular enemies are still kinda dumb in these games. Generally you can either just combo them to death with your strong attacks before they can do anything or you can play really defensively against them and bait/punish their attacks. This made going through some long areas a slog
(Forbidden Woods)
since most of the enemies weren't very threatening even if they looked scary. Newer enemies never really forced me to change up my gameplan or think differently about what I should do against them too.

- The stuttering, framerate drops and load times were annoying. I didn't die that much, but the loading when going back to the Hunter's dream to spend echoes and then going back to the area you were just in got to me after a while. Audio cutouts and frameskips in
Old Yharnam
and the
Forbidden Woods
were bad. It usually happened when there was lots of smoke/fire around.

- The game got way easier as I went on. Every fight after
Amelia
except
Rom
and
those three hunters you fight in the Unseen Village
was pretty easy for me. The last few bosses before the final one were really underwhelming.

- Bloodstains rarely ever worked for me. I ended up just ignoring them after a while.

Stuff I liked:

- Outside of the technical issues I think the game looks great visually. There's so much detail in the environments that I ended up stopping and staring at things as I went along. The enemy and most of the boss designs were great too. I really enjoyed the setting and overall tone of the game. Going through the levels and finding shortcuts back to places you've already been to is still very satisfying.
Love how creepy the game got after a certain point too.
These are probably the main reasons I keep playing these games lol. Love exploring the world and some of the boss fights can be really great.

Maybe I'll do another playthrough later since it looks like I missed some bosses.

Fucking hell I need to get on doing more Chalices.

I have done a few but the next one requires materials I don't have. I wish I could buy them for Insight like some of the other mats but most don't. I have well over 99 Insight right now.

The further you go i think there will be a way to turn
ritual material into arcane haze
and even further down you will be able to buy higher tier material for insight, the way there is still long.

If I play offline, and call the NPC to help me, what happens if he dies? Can I call him again, or it is perma dead?
Will he be useful against the 3rd boss?

So I'm curious, as a way to get a rough idea of how far into the game I am, how many bosses, both optional and critical path, are there in the main game, not including chalice dungeon bosses?

So pumped! Finally beat the second boss. He was a real motherfucker and I almost went to search out a way to cheese him, but I was diligent and cut his ass down finally. The next area is really neat btw. I cant get over the art. This game absolutely rocks. It's going to be hard to top as my GOY. WOO!

I just unlocked the first major shortcut in the
Forbidden Forest
without dying once and that was one of the most stressful things I have ever done. Ended up leaving with 59k blood but I need a break after.

That last damn snake thing nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought I was going to lose all that blood and have to go through that first part again..

Their entire family never had a chance. ;_;
I had hope the little girl would survive after giving her the brooch but it seems only her older sister is fated to live and even then I wouldn't consider that a good thing. The girl lost her mind after giving her the ribbon. ;__;

I still have the
brooch.
What is the best thing to do with it?
Use it and get a blood gem. Spare yourself of this terrible feeling. Trust me, you will regret your actions like me if you give it to the girl.

What happens when you do that?
Older sister basically goes insane from losing her mother, her father (Father G), and her little sister (the NPC who requested to find their mother)

Where is her sister?
same house. Shows up after killing Rom.

One of my mates found a spot near the clinic where he gets 2k blood echoes each time he passes there. He's up 200k in less than 10 minutes..... :/

About that ...
go back to the older sister after reloading the area.

I got the Souls fear in me.

I don't wanna jump back in just to be decimated by the
Shadow of Yharnam
again and then face that long run back and inevitably blood vial farm.

THIS JUST IN ---

Suspend / Resume breaks your multiplayer. Rest mode might break it too.

Shut console off.

Shut software down.

Since doing that it's been straight jolly cooperation.

Can anyone help me? Chalice spoilers:

So I'm at the Lower Pthumeru Chalice (Layer 1) and basically got rushed by red spiders. I'm very arachnophobic (Giant spider at the nightmare area was terribe..). Can anyone tell me where the corresponding bell maiden is so I can rush to her? I assume she spawns the red spiders. Also, does anyone know if the giant spider from the Nightmare area appears in a Pthumeru Chalice Dungeon? Thanks. And yes, I'm a wuss :p

Insight isn't nearly as simple as higher -> harder enemies with more attacks

I tested a bit when i was farming souls, enemies where doing only one attacks at 40 insight, now i went to waste some of them at the merchant and at 17 Insight the mobs do two new attacks

I checked with a YT vid of a dude going around with the same Insight as me and the attack were different from mine yet again

mmmmhhh

When is it too early to go Cainhurst Castle? I'm at level 56 or 57 and just got through
spiders in water boss
and transported into the new area. Already grabbed bonfire and went back to Hunter's dream. I want to join a covenant soonish but don't know if it's recommended to go there later.

When I ring the sinister bell, it says it's looking for a ring of another sinister bell.. So another person ringing the sinister bell? I thought if you rang the small resonant bell you could be invaded ?

Can someone tell me where the Lunarium Key is? I've been playing in the dark and making awesome progress but now I've been stuck for a day. I finally looked up a walk thorough and it seems I'm missing the whole middle section of the game. And I might be missing it because of a bug I've known nothing about since I've been playing in the dark.

Fuck this bullshit.

Anyways, where is the Lunarium Key. Like, exact location on a bookshelf or whatever. I want to know if my game is bugged or not.
