Where do I use Cainhurst summons at? Also best boss after unseen village and got sent to lecture second floor. I'm lost all doors are dead ends where do I need to go.
read description. you dont have to use it either, a cutscene just happens when u get to a certain spot in the area the description talks about.

One more question, how do I know when I can continue Eileen's quest line? She's at the cathedral but tells me not to go somewhere. Will she leave eventually?

Excellent

For Eileen
If she's at the cathedral steps before you fought the Vicar Amelia, then go check inside once more

Question about the Cathedral Ward. At the top of the stairs...to the left is Hemlock Charnel Lane. Straight ahead is Vicar. I've followed the path to the right.

Killed 2 hunters, an Abductor, 2 snipers, 2 exectznioners-and then there is this strange building/chapel. There's a locked door, and then an invisible hand grabs and kills me.

What is this area called?

Midgame spoiler

After I killed Rom, I decided to farm some vials. So I ported to Central Yarham, and the guy inside the building has turned into a beast and attacked me.

Technically that room goes to two areas. The door leads to unseen village.

Get a tonsil stone from an npc in forbidden forest (hidden in a house left path of the village), and then go back there. There's another reason to go there, which you'll find out from just continuing on the story.

Does the game automatically restart as NG+ after you do
Gehrman
? As in, do I need to complete anything I want to do in this run before I finish that part.

question about a certain item (END GAME SPOILER):
Does it matter when you use the umbilical cords to get the secret ending? Or you can just use them whenever, even right when you get them, as long as you use 3 before talking to gherman?

I'm having like the cheapest videogame experience ever. It's ridiculously hard to get past this frenzy inducing bug on the
nightmare frontier
. Been trying for hours embarrassed to say. Done it twice and then did something stupid afterwards both times. Supposedly my 50 insight makes the quick frenzy much worse. Is there a lamp or a shortcut back to the lamp after this point? Or do I have to do this every time I want to attempt to fight the boss?

It blows my mind the amount of optional content there is in this game. Any of it could have easily been a part of the "main" experience.

Use Sedatives, Ashen/Crow other high Frenzy res gear, and the +200 Frenzy rune.

yea use them before you talk to him

Just seems strange that we have a stat called Beasthood in the main game and no one has any idea what effect it has.

Then theres:
-Beastblood pills
-Runes that affect transformations.
-The word "beastform" in the message making system.
-Multiple story references

in the area behind the stairs that lead up to Vicar Amelia,
a path leads up to a door where a guy asks for a password
, how do I find the password?

Examine the altar Vicar Amelia was praying at after you beat her.

Yeah I really disliked that area. My advice is just to run past everything. You will get a shortcut before the boss

Couple question about post Rom boss fight.

Can I look for u
mbilical
c
cords
now? Will they all be in their right locations?

The crow Hunter isn't showing up where she should be at. I've never actually talked to her, but I thought she was always supposed to be at the great cathedral after you beat rom.

So what do I do now? I've killed
BSB and Amelia. I kinda wanna take on the boss that let's me befriend gunner hunter in old Yarnham, but is that "next?"

Get the Crow Gear from Eileen or just use the Hunter armor both have great Frenzy Res, especially the helm from Eileen. Also use sedatives.

i don't understand why the Tonitrus is so goddamned strong. Its arcane scaling is not great but at +7 its electrified R1 attacks just about match my fire ludwig+8's charged attacks. At 33 arcane right now.

Maybe it's because my +phys gems are somehow interacting with its self-buff? I have two +15% physical gems and one +16% bolt in it.

so what happens if you manage to fill the meter all the way up? Nothing?

Just seems strange that we have a stat called Beasthood in the main game and no one has any idea what effect it has.

I've collected quite a few "Beast Blood Pallets" from werewolfs and the like. Info says it grants temporary beasthood. I'm assuming that's what the stat is for. Although I haven't actually used one yet. Saving for the next boss fight.

Um, how are you able to see other people's account names while playing? Kind of creeped me out when I got a message even though I have it set to only show my character name.

I've asked a couple times here and in the spoiler thread, but I figured I'd post it again to try to get some input. I don't want to go ahead with this idea if everyone thinks the spoiler thread is sufficient.

Basically it could be a thread where we not only discuss spoilers, but also everything else involving the lore of the game and keep it documented in the OP as well as possible. A "Bloodborne Bible", if you will.

I'd love a dedicated lore thread. This game probably has the most intriguing story of any of the Souls games for me so far.

I used a few of them and...
it didn't appear to do a thing.

Where is that exactly? I am not sure where to find that spot. Thanks! Need this 200 frenzy rune bad...

Can't remember exactly, just remember where those big ass snake monsters are that shoot shit at you, in the corner of a wall somewhere theres two of them (the wall is like glowing red).

So here's my NG+ stats, and I'm not sure what to level anymore. Using Burial Blade+10 & Blades of Mercy+9, Hunter Pistol+9, going SKL/ARC.

Should I raise my Arcane up more, for scaling, or skill?

Beasthood info, spoilered
you need a beast claw weapon from a chalice dungeon chest. Transforms one arm into a giant furry claw to do big damage but lowers your defense when in beast mode. Unknown if further transformative equipment is hidden deeper in the game.

There's an elevator shortcut. To get there, go to the very bottom pit before the boss but look to the very right and there should be a lone Wolfman. Kill him and follow the path and you'll find the elevator which is very close to the beginning lamp.

Straight from Cathedral Ward lamp and up the stairs on the right then past that shortcut gate there's an item teasing me on a ledge -- how the hell do you get that one?
