Coming from the Old Yarnham lantern. I'm descending down into some kind of castle (I think), and then get a minigun shooting at me? What the hell is going on?!!! ahhhh

What is the fastest way to get to 10 insight? Friend just bought the game so I had to start a new character to help him.
I could be crazy, but I think dying in certain situations (like boss battles) gives you +1 insight. You can't abuse it though, I don't think. Maybe someone else here can verify that.

Aaaaaand I think that's the show guys. I'm pretty much my technical restrictions has me defeated indefinitely against the S
hadow of Yharnam

It was fun though, but despite playing at 120%, I'm still dead because it requires such perfectionist play.
Focus on one and yolo it into oblivion. Then cautiously fight the next two and get a hit in whenever you are able to.
And try not to rely on locking on so much. Get in, get out, heal if needed, etc.

is it just me or is the Witch of Hemwick boss battle simply easier solo than in Co-op?

I first tried it in co-op, since I was having some difficulty with the level, it seemed to go well until
the second witch showed up just as I was celebrating our victory
, second time I even had two other hunters with me but then I got trapped in a spell and died (despite being full health), after the third co-op loss I just said fuck it and when solo and manage to kill her first solo-try.

she keeps spawning those ghost creatures, but she goes down so much quickly

after doing flappy beast are there multiple options of where to go? I can only find
the door in cathedral ward to the right of the bonfire that opened. i didn't explore much around gatling tower because it kept shooting me but there might be more around there? or no?
.

from the bombcast it sounded like there were multiple options around there but i can't find anything else.

Just tried yolo attacking one of them. Died within approx. 1 second and 48 milliseconds.

Come on, what was I thinking?

This wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if the loading time and the walk back didn't take 200 hours

Seeing a boss gets you one, killing a boss gets you more. Using the Madman's Knowledge item gives you 1.

You should have 10 by the time you beat Father G.

Can anyone tell me what the first key the merchant in hunters dream sells for 10,000 blood echoes unlocks? Do I need that? Also, I beat
Father Gasciogne
a couple of days ago and don't really know where to go next. I made it to
Old Yarnham
and have gotten mowed down by the machine gun hunter several times now. Is this what I'm suppose to be doing next? Thanks! I'm loving the game so far!
You can either continue to make progress in old yarnham
although that place is technically optional
or you can buy the
key and continue on in the story. Instead of going down the stairs to old yarnham at the cathedral ward go up the stairs towards the axe wielding giant

it opens a gate in the cathedral ward allowing you to skip Old Yharnam, completely optional i didnt buy it on my first playthrough

She was cool. Except she bugged for me on my playthrough. Only throwing a couple of fairly basic attacks which were easy to avoid. Went down easy. Did dome co-op there later and she broke out everything as she should. Was a much more entertaining fight. Still beat her though
Oh so that's what happened. I thought it was a joke boss or something, because it hit me maybe once.

During redmoon, enemy keep respawing. I can't go on. It's fucking irritating.
Kill the bell maiden(s) to make it stop!

The latest one i beat was
Amygdala.

i beat
Celric Beast, Father G, Vicar Amelia, Shadows of Yarnham, Rom, the one reborn, blood starved beast and the witch of hemwick.

Not sure where the next story boss is since I'm on
The One Reborn
, but there's quite a few optional ones available. Did you find the key to the door in the Healing Church Workshop? It's in the
Unseen Village.
. Did you find your way into Iosefka's Clinic? If so you can now reach
Cainhurst Castle.

Thought you are a cane bro. Let me know when you hit end game or going to do some chalice dungeons so we can coop. My hunter is at 105 now at ng+
Nah, I went with the saw though since I'm going with a quality build and have my skill at 30, I should try out the cane. As for Chalice Dungeons, gonna hold off on that till I am at least level 105. Which won't be long if I keep ringing small resonant bell at F
ather G
and V
icar Amelia
spots. I keep getting summoned for the NG+ versions there and I end up getting roughly 25k echoes from the former and 45-50k from the latter. It's where I've been going to farm echoes. I get summoned pretty quick and the fight usually lasts about 2-3 minutes. Jumped 13 levels from farming it for nearly 2 hours.

I've tried Father Gascoigne twice and failed.

Are Molotov Cocktails gonna tame this beast or should l try anything else?

Said it before: Hunter's Axe, the 2H charged R2 attack. It's a spin attack with massive reach that easily hurts him through the graves. Just keep an obstacle between you and him and spin away.
Do another R2 when he turns beast ( he'll stand still for a few seconds ) and then stun him once with the musicbox for another easy charged R2. He should be close to death after that.

Don't even
bother with her puppets. Doge their stun magic and show the witches your blade.

if it's like any of the previous Souls games, bosses will have more life in coop.

Oh, this is an unleveled play through ? Hmm...no idea, then.

Is there any truth to the story that if you have 15+ insight the game becomes a lot harder? I'm currently on 16 insight (the eyeball right?) and I'm dying a bit more than I'm used to but that just might be a placebo. If it's true, how do I get rid of my insight?

Father G is destroying me. He's just too fast! I'm dodging like a muthafucker

Can't decide if I need to be close or far away yet, or if I should be locked on or free but I definitely need to better use the cover to avoid his gunshots.

I got right up close to the Cleric Beast, and hacked away at his crotch to take him down. Get the smackdown laid on me when I get right up in Father G's grill though.

The only trick to this fight is parrying. I came upon him by accident and killed him first try because I was fairly used to the parry mechanic. He only lasted 10-15 seconds after transforming--I parried him first move and my visceral attack brought him down.

Practice that mechanic and you'll destroy home without cheese. It's an incredibly fun fight.

Ok honest answer guys, how many of you found the Blood Rock without using a guide?

I mean, i could've probably looked around forever if i didn't know where to search

oh so the
snake men can grab and kill you

Buy stuff at the insight shop to get rid of insight, but yeah there's some truth to it. I'm at 40 insight and enemies have significantly different moves. For example, projectiles when they didn't used to.

Got one down quick, then played like a fucking turd, a fucking pathetic scum who tried to spam heals and accidentally (or rather, choked in my own choke) and buffered two vials at once - causing me to die. Such a fucking oaijufoiasjuhfåpoiasjufåopiahjfpösadoifhupåoasdi hj

Somehow I had the 3rd headstone in Hunter's Dream unlocked before the 2nd. I finally have the 2nd one unlocked but is there a way to know if I've unlocked every area in the first headstone. I feel like i'm getting ahead of myself sometimes. What is the last area unlocked on just the 1st headstone?

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I finally get to the tower with the
machine gun
hunter and we're having this epic duel and he falls off the dang edge.

My worthy adversary you deserved better

It's true but personally I didn't see any of the effects until NG+. You'll know if it's in effect if the lantern dudes at Cathedral Ward start shooting at you with the lanterns.

The only thing I didn't figure out on my own in this game is how to get the key to the upper cathedral. Had to look that up.
Edit: oh right and the location of the brain thing after you drop it in that hole. I jumped down the hole the first time I was in there lol

Thanks! I definitely want to see as much as possible while I'm playing. I haven't had much time to dive into the game yet, but this game rocks for sure. Isn't the
Blood starved beast
in Old Yarnham? If I go the Old Yarnham route, do I go after the
machine gun hunter
first or go after the
BSB
?

Thanks a bunch! i know what to do now.

can you ever buy stone chunks with insight? I'm sitting on something like 48 and it's burning a hole in my pocket.

You'll need that crest to progress yes. There's a gate near the cathedral ward Lantern. Out the door to the left and up across a graveyard and up some stairs on the right. Theres a couple of reaper guys there, but they're not too much trouble. Gate is all the way at the top of the stairs. There is something that guards it however, but I'll let you find that out.

As for where you are now, you're in the right spot, however you don't have to take him out. Move through the area and treat it like a cover shooter. Lots of places to take cover and fight from there

After playing a fair amount of PvP yesterday, I have some thoughts (and questions) below:

- Nightmare Frontier seems to be the de facto arena for PvP

- I realized during one of my early attempts AI enemies won't hit you when you invade someone. You're like one of them. I found this out the hard way after I started slashing away at a troll that came into the middle of my battle with another hunter. I didn't realize he was just going after him/her and not me. The other hunter pounced on me while I was distracted and I paid for my error.

- Don't know how the pairing up works.... sometimes I felt like I was doing little damage to the enemies, and viceversa. One poor sap keep slashing at me with his Blade of Mercy and then Axe and it was like he was tickling me. My health bar barely moved, while I did massive damage to him on each blow.

- Invaded another unlucky hunter who was fighting the other two hunter NPCs in Nightmare. I've never seen someone jump so much and run so fast... he was trying to NOPE the hell out of there. Eventually we caught up to him at the peak of a mountain and beat him to a pulp. Can't imagine what he must have felt like the whole time.

Questions:

- Can one PvP after killing the boss of the particular area you're trying to PvP in?

- Can you do 2v1, or 2v2?

- Levels here... how do they work? I swear I must have fought some NG+ dudes yesterday...

No you don't. All the crest does is let you skip fighting BSB.

Are blood stains working for you guys? Since I started playing this game last week I can view maybe a tenth of the deaths that I try to play back. The rest of the bloodstains simply vanish when I try to play them. Is this a common problem? I believe my connection is good enough.

I have it, love it, and finally whooped BSB. Even helped a few folks beat it too so I could farm a little insight and grab a nice coat.

But I also feel a little ripped off. Wednesday maintenance kills a night for me outright, and it would have been nice to know prior to my pre-order. Playing with friends doesn't work either, despite trying everything I've read about it. To make matters even worse, my brother in law couldn't even play. Kept getting kicked the second he appeared in Yarnham. So he can't even play it unless he goes offline.

In game, it feels like the product is a work of art. At this point I'm feeling stuck wondering what I'm doing wrong, and I don't feel like a game should do that with connectivity and multiplayer. Does anyone have any insight (lol) into this?

The sound design is so phenomenal in this game. With the Sony Golds you can pinpoint exactly where every enemy is. It has saved me so many times from an ambush

Happens to me too. Maybe server load?

Playing offline. Not sure why but enemies seem to take less damage with the cane. I havent even reached the first boss yet. Seems like they were easier to kill at first but now harder and more packed at the bonfire.

It happens for me too. The entire online functionality of the game is struggling to work at the moment. I've not found a single coop partner since launch
