Oh so that's what happened. I thought it was a joke boss or something, because it hit me maybe once.

Yeah its a known issue according to the wiki I looked at afterwards. Resetting apparently will fix it, but if you're fighting her the 1st time and it happens how will you know.....

The sound design is so phenomenal in this game. With the Sony Golds you can pinpoint exactly where every enemy is. It has saved me so many times from an ambush

Same here! I'm basically melting away by the amazing audiovisual presentation. I'm in love with this game

Are blood stains working for you guys? Since I started playing this game last week I can view maybe a tenth of the deaths that I try to play back. The rest of the bloodstains simply vanish when I try to play them. Is this a common problem? I believe my connection is good enough.

They hardly ever work, I just ignore them at this point.. Definitely a common problem.

I have it, love it, and finally whooped BSB. Even helped a few folks beat it too so I could farm a little insight and grab a nice coat.

But I also feel a little ripped off. Wednesday maintenance kills a night for me outright, and it would have been nice to know prior to my pre-order. Playing with friends doesn't work either, despite trying everything I've read about it. To make matters even worse, my brother in law couldn't even play. Kept getting kicked the second he appeared in Yarnham. So he can't even play it unless he goes offline.

In game, it feels like the product is a work of art. At this point I'm feeling stuck wondering what I'm doing wrong, and I don't feel like a game should do that with connectivity and multiplayer. Does anyone have any insight (lol) into this?

This is the first Souls game where you can choose to play with friends, it's buggy. Also the other games didn't have this so most people aren't attempting it.

Ive lost about 2. Though i find most of them arnt exactly where you die.

Fastest OT is a better question in this context

I'm sure a couple of hyped up games had fast OT such as Halo 3 or MGSIV, but I don't remember if they had the 20k limit in 2009. Diablo III must of had a quick OT despite being a PC exclusive at the time. Bloodborne release hype will shortly fade away and it probably won't have the legs to catch up with Destiny which is at OT19 (all encompassing Halo OT is at 23). :p It blow my mind since that game received lukewarm word of mouth and lacked in content and yet it still has staying power. I can only imagine how big it could be if Bungie executed the initial concept near perfectly...

God I fucking love how open this game is. Where's the Witch at? I think I went in a completely different direction lol.

When you're running up the cathedral stairs to
Vicar Amelia's room, run left on the landing right before the top landing with her door, it will lead to a trail / cave that opens out to a forest, proceed through there to an area with a witch coven -> make your way through that area and she will be at the end of it.

Posting this once more: Don't use Suspend/Resume with this game. It may break online!

Yeah... you'll DC the second you ring your bell. Lose your insight too.

Still worth using suspend/resume for me though. Just gotta remember to reload app before any MP sessions. =P

I summoned some coop help the other day and saw a message that a Bell Maiden had arrived, I couldn't find her after 30min I gave up and logged out.

Does the Bell maiden persist even after you close the game or return to hunters dream? She makin' me nervous as hell! I've never even seen one before!

Noomi what level are you? I've played mostly solo but I'm ready to have fun in coop now.

Is anyone else having issues with calling other players for co-op? I have tried ringing my beckoning bell many times and I have never gotten been able to call another player. Does location have anything to do with it? I have tried at warp lanterns and in front of fog gates.

Beat that punk ass spider a few hours ago. Need to fight that giant egg head later.

No idea how people beat the game so fast. Feel like I've been spending all my free time since release playing lol.

Just popping in to say that Remote Play works incredibly with Bloodborne (as long as you don't need R2 or L2). Farming runs on the couch while my wife watches Real Housewives are a godsend.

I had one of the S
hadow of Yharnam
left and he started spawning the same
hydras from Dark Souls 1.

Awful.

Beat it last night, but found out I missed a ton of stuff. No
Cainhurst, no upper cathedral - so missed out on two great ones bosses - and did no Chalices, also missed out on the prostitute, the murderer and Patches
.

Started up a new game (instead of NG+) to see how much easier it is to start again, and its much easier now that I've remembered patterns and maps. Beat CB and FG in about 2 hours. Hopefully can redo this one much more quickly.

Are you over-leveled for the area? That may have something to do with it. Maybe not though, I'm not sure how the matchmaking works in this game.

These threads move too quick.

I just got past the 6th(?) boss
Rom, and past all the respawning mobs. I keep dying to these 3 hunters in this room though.
Any tips or tricks to handling them?

Poison throwing knifes and trying to get only one to fight you at a time.

yesss just killed
shadow of yarnham
.

one thing im struggling to understand is armour in this game. I mean they all seem exactly the same just some are good in areas other are weak and vice versa. Is there any specific armour i should Deffinite be grabbing? (tomb prospectors for example) or does it just depend on what type of enemy i am facing at the time (physical, fire, poisen etc??).

Whats the view on arcane or bloodtinge?? if you put enough in bloodtinge does the gun do any dmg or does it increase possibility of a stagger?

Not sure if this happened to anyone else but I noticed that even after I died a few times in the same area, after I killed an enemy who took my Echoes, ALL of my Echoes were returned including the ones I got from subsequent deaths. Not really sure what triggers it but it's quite a relief.

After 3/4 attempts I beat the BSB last night. Decided to fuck backing off all the time and stay on his ass. Had no Antidotes either. Satisfying as fuck.

Dat hype when you come back to locked gates that reveal shortcuts.

Got a couple of avenues to head down. Also starting to encounter
magic
enemies who are tough as nails.

Pretty sure I had my first dream involving playing Bloodborne. Thrusting thunderfucks with a Holy Blade thrust. What is life.

Don't even
bother with her puppets. Doge their stun magic and show the witches your blade.
I can confirm that
the second witch is there at keast after the first combo on the first witch i killed her and her friend before her health bar even showed up.

I have absolutely no desire to rush through. I've been having fun exploring, and now cooping / PvP'ing. Plan to do as many chalice dungeons as I can. I'll try to see/do everything before completing the game. There won't likely be a NG+ game for me, seeing as there is little incentive for it.

OT3 and I've yet to beat the game. I can't get myself to play for more than an hour or two when I'm making progress. It's so good, I don't want it to end. I defeated Mister Lagombi on some castle last night. Why won't that lady talk to me?

Spoiler?

Question regarding the
Hunter
with the gatling gun who I've left alone so far: When should you kill him or do you get something for leaving him alone?

Just best the Cleric Beast last night after about 5 hours exploring and dying in Central Yharnam. Loving the game so far but goddam is it punishing. One wrong move or attack and you're dead. This is my first Souls game and the game design takes so much getting used to.

So after having a very busy weekend last night i decided to venture past Oedeon tomb, the Atmosphere on this game is something incredible, the design, the sound fx.

I got to a
preacher dude that gave what it looks like the equivalent of gold pine resin and something else, i also open a cript, but was to scared to venture down there, then took a turn and met a giant with glasses guy with a Ball and chain and he just smashed me. Can you parry his attack?

I let go of the game after that. Lol

This weekend i have it off from work im goin to put a lot of hours to the game, this is a great experience that just makes me happy about the ps4!

If you left your ps4 in stand by your going have to close the game then restart it. Everything should work after that. Hope I explained that well enough.

Is there any consensus on what levels people tend to reach bosses/endgame with?

I know that leveling isn't the end of the world in any case, and that subtracting 10 from my level probably won't change my success rate too much. Just curious as to what folks are getting.

For my part, I've beaten
The Witch of Hemwick and explored some of the forest
and I'm level 56.

Also is there any way to view "Time Played" like in Dark Souls? Just curious how I see all these posts that say it took them "18 hours to Kill ____ Boss."

Level 56 sounds just fine, if a little high considering where you are at. Pretty sure I was in my 40s somewhere around that part.

Help a dullard out, where am I meant to go after
The Church of the Good Chalice
?

This confused me a bit too but you'll need to go back to the Cathedral
Where the old lady is
. A door will have opened there immediately ahead from where you enter (it leads to an elevator IIRC).

Afaik there's no purpose on leaving him be

Booo. I'll wait until I'm a higher level to fight him though.

In the main menu you can select Load. Then you'll see each of your characters and their time played. That's all.

Yep, I did the same thing with BSB... the game seems to reward a certain degree of aggression. Any time I sit back too much I die. Mostly have to watch for power up attacks but the game has taught me to be much better about watching my enemies movements.

Well shit. Regarding the location of the Eye rune.

I didn't kill Willem (old guy before Rom) because, hey, live and let live right?
Did I miss out on my chance for the rune or can I go back there? At work and can't check.

Thanks. Did I miss something?

If not thats awful game design.

I'm still not sure how picking up blood echoes works in this game. I've picked up piles I've never dropped, seen enemies with glowing eyes in areas I'm exploring for the first time, and picked up piles from glowing eyed enemies after dying multiple times. I've been playing it safe in assuming that it follows Dark Souls rules, but I think there are other rules in play here.

One thing I was wondering, is there a vagrant or drift item like system in BB? Like if someone loses a ton of echoes will that pile show up in someone elses world?
