I actually can't stop playing this game.

I think the Chalice Dungeons are a really great idea, and the execution is mostly so-so. Probably the only thing about the game I think is lacking (that is not a technical issue) -- it just makes me want DLC episodes all the more.

Plz From, give me episodes for Bloodborne and never ever stop.

I really like the idea of them, they should be a feature in every souls game going forward, could use throwing some loot in every now and then though, I'm starting to get bloodgem drops pretty frequently at the later ones, but you shouldn't have to go through 20+ before getting any sort of loot besides more challice materials.

I have a question. This was in the area after the 2nd boss, the place with
the guy shooting down from the tower.
I ran down and found a ladder going up. Then, out of the corner of my eye I see someone running up and down the stairs. I thought maybe it was a bugged NPC, but when I got over there I wasn't sure what was going on. They acted as if
it was another player
. We swatted at each other a few times
and he backed off.
I healed up and climbed up the ladder a bit. I watch him running around down there for a while.

I've never rung a bell, but I do play "online". I don't recall seeing a message that I had been invaded.
Was I or this just some weird part of the game?

It's a
NPC hunter.

You're not imagining things. That's another crazy Hunter who wants your blood!

Was having a hard time with BSB so figured I'd run around and level a little bit. Took the whole weekend stuck on
Vicar Amelia
. When I finally beat her,I went back to try again. It felt so good this time because I had finally gotten good with the controls dying again and again with
Amelia
. I was in control the whole fight and managed some planned, not lucky visceral attacks. This game. :)

Amazing. I can't beat
Amelia
for the life of me and
BSB
only took me a few tries.

What's your alt?

Saw Cleaver my #1 for a long time then I switch to Tonitrus/Ludwig. Tonitrus is surprisingly fast. Buff with L1 and you're doing some hard, fast hits. Durability is a little low but it's a fun, fun weapon.

#TeamTonitrus

I'm an arcane build and went with Ludwig's because I like longswords and greatswords in these games, plus it ends up with the highest arcane scaling of every weapon. I put two fire gems in it and it seemed to work great for a while but now my damage feels lacking again. Sure I was only at +6 but it was taking 5-6 hits with the longsword mode to kill regular enemies in chalice dungeons and
unseen village
.

So now I'm using Tonitrus out of necessity because it hits so hard it's ridiculous. Its powered-up mode seems to benefit from both physical attack and bolt attack gems, which is the only explanation for this crazy damage. It's only +7 and for example its charge attack was hitting over 1000 - this is not a big slow weapon. It's a quick little mace.

I prefer the stake driver and ludwig's movesets but I might as well use the weapon that's hitting 2-3 times harder...wish the stake driver in particular had better scaling.

Not far into this but this definitely his potential to be one of my favourite games of all time. The game I've always wanted.

I know the gestures can be accessed through the touchpad but has anyone noticed the controller symbols underneath each?

Is there a way to trigger specific gestures through swipes on the touch pad or moving the controller in a particular way?

She
drove me crazy. Eventually you just need to get better at dodge timing.
I was dodging too early at first

Hold X and perform the controller action. It's never worked great for me.

So... how did the doll die in my game? She's just lying down. I can still level up - but can't talk to her at all.

Forbidden Woods?
More like Poison Snake Tree Maze. I'm unlocking shortcuts so I guess I'm heading in the right direction, but I have no idea where I'm going and actually ended up waking in the wrong direction for a good chunk without realizing it.

Follow the path and youll find your way. You know where to go by following paths which have lanterns.

Hold down the "X" button then do move as described in the gesture to perform them. Gotta hold "X" down the whole time.

I killed him, not sure if i screwed something for the future history, well shit...to bad now,
I also killed that creepy guy at cathedral that is near the lantern
.

You monster. He is legitimately the nicest character in the entire game.

If you send him enough people, he has some real touching dialogue about finally having company and stuff. As creepy as he looks, he just wanted friends.
YOU MONSTER.

boss spoilers - question please

so i beat
Rom the spider creep
and then beat
the old god (sorry forget the name, the mangled freakshow who the bell maidens drop in the unseen city)

did i miss an optional boss in between these two? and if so, where?

I'm 2 bosses into the game, and I'm kinda curious - is it just me or is there more stunlocking in this game than in other Souls games?

I feel like crying. I haven't had much time at all to play bloodborne. I've only gotten to the second boss and I got the game Day 1!

I've been stuck on Rom since yesterday. Those homing missiles just feel unfair.

Never stop moving and strafe sideways. I focused on the smaller ones first and was fine. Don't let yourself get surrounded. Work on the edges of the group and pick em off one at a time.

For the main guy, once he's alone strafe sideways and once the barrage passes move in a bit and keep closing the distance. Hit him with whatever weapon has the longest reach, buff with bolt if you can. I used and upgraded Tonitrus (mace) that has an L1 bolt buff.

Watch for Rom when he rears up, he can do a blast charge or the ice barrage. just strafe away until he's done and smack him. I found I could only get one good hit in. Just be patient and whittle him down.

What do I do with Insight points exactly? I have 9 at this point and I haven't spent any on anything. I'm searching for the 3rd boss at this moment.

I noticed that nothing really seems different, other than the fact that my item purchases cost a lot more Blood Echoes.

Is there some benefit to having a lot of Insight points? I know you use them to summon co-op with the bell, but I don't foresee myself inviting anyone into my game for a long time. What else can you buy?

Thanks!

Is anyone able to help with
Shadow of Yharnam
boss fight? I'm level 49.

Also, is the fastest way there through the
Forbidden Woods,
through the area with the
cannon, then the pigs?

Darkbeast Paarl? Unless you already beat him when you get transported to the jail earlier

thanks, I'm felling bad now...

So I got this blod gem which gives plus 9.6 rapid poison effect which sounded awesome and I figured I'd be poisoning motherfuckers all the time, but it haven't managed to do it to anyone despite having a fast weapon. What kind of numbers are you looking for with poison for it to be worth while?

I was dodging too early at first

You need to stay close to her and try to get to her rear (that's what she said). If you keep her at a distance she will do her leaping attack which is very hard to roll dodge.

Yeah, for me that meant getting better at dodge timing though. I mean the swinging not the jump attack. I found that not too hard to avoid.

did you kill
paarl? the electro-skel-dog?

Yes, you can, and you need to to get all the runes.
He gives the high-level version of the EYE rune, which improves item discovery.

Regarding that rune, I didn't find out about it until today. I didn't kill him, can I still go back there and bump him off even though I killed the boss?

I did that earlier at 52ish I think because I really wanted the katana. When he goes into Gwyn mode it's pretty much an invitation to start parrying although they're quite easy to fuck up tbh. I got close the first try but he did the thing where
he summons the swords
and I didn't know what to do about it. The latter half of the fight is so reminiscent of Gwyn. Must have been intentional.

There seems to be much talk about his difficulty. I'm beginning to wonder if mine glitched. I know my encounter with the
wet nurse did
Took me about 3 goes with a couple of lazy deaths. His first form was simple. Got him to back up against a wall and then stunlocked with the blades of mercy. Not much he could do until I ran out of stamina 13 or 14 swings later. Couldnt quite do that when he enraged. But I was able to get inside his wide attacks and get 4-5 hits before dodging out. DIdn't take long in the end.

I was bit disappointed actually, cause the whole thing reminded me of
the painted world in dark souls
Except the boss there I thought was a lot better.

So I don't really consider this a spoiler, can someone in NG+ just speak to the bosses, do they change mechanically at all like in dark souls 2, or is it just more health and damage?
